We visited Brynawelon for a long weekend in July 2012 our first camping holiday for over 25 years and what a gem we found.
The site is very well equipped plenty of spotlessly clean showers, toilets etc. Excellent facilities in the campers kitchen including washing machines, fridges, freezers, microwave, toasters and kettles.
Staff were very helpful with handy hints on putting our tent up they even lent us an extension for our electric hook up because ours wasn't long enough.
We took our granddaughter who is 9 and she had a really good time as there is an enclosed park area and a games room.
The surrounding area is beautiful we visited Aberporth where there is a sandy beach with easy access, New Quay with its pretty harbour and visiting dolphins and Cardigan town which is a bustling place you can get your shopping from, Tesco, Lidl are on the outskirts.
We are hoping to book in a couple of weeks time to go back to Brynawelon because there is still so much to do and see and it will be nice to know we have all the facilities we could wish for come rain or shine

Very quiet, very clean small site. Most of the site is took up by seasonal touring caravans. As the weather had been rubbish, the site was nearly empty. We were supposed to be on a grass pitch, but luckily we got a hard pitch instead. The grass pitches were very wet, and some places soggy. Toilets and showers very clean, and free. Sea views. You cannot walk to the the sea, it is too far. The dog exercise area is very, very small. No shop, with nearest garage/shop about 2 miles. Nearest chip shop, about 3 miles. Its a beautiful area, when the sun shines. Very remote. Would be nice to return. The out of season offer was excellent.

Have just returned from a week stay at this site and WOW were we impressed. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left nothing was too much trouble. The owners and wardens are very friendly and helpful.
We were there over Easter and the Wardens came round with a basket full of Easter Eggs and Bunnies to give to those of us on site, what a lovely touch.
The site is about 1/4 mile from the main A487 so in easy reach of a main road but far enough away not to be a noise nuisance. Also this makes it a nice easy tow to site as you are not travelling down long narrow roads, of which there are many in this area.
The site is well maintained. The shower blocks are immaculate, and now have somewhere to put your toiletries in the single showers. There are four showers for the ladies, two have a toilet and sink in addition to the shower cubicle and there are three showers for the men, again two of which have toilet and sink.
The games room is a great idea and has a TV, a couple of table type games and a book swap – excellent place for kids to meet up on wet days.
We didn’t use the campers kitchen but our friends, who were also on site in a trailer tent, did and they were really impressed with the level of equipment, there are two sinks for pot wash, a fridge, a freezer, kettles, toaster, microwave, iron, ironing board, table and chairs, washing machine (additional cost), tumble drier (additional cost) and a spin drier which spun that well your clothes were almost dry once you had used it!
The location is absolutely fabulous and is within easy reach of some wonderful beaches, Penbryn is the nearest and is managed by the National Trust, there is a pay and display car park £3 all day or £1. 50 for 1 hour, toilets and café here too. The walk to the beach from here is quite a steep downhill of course coming back up tests your calf muscles. The beach itself is lovely soft sand in a small bay. Dogs are not allowed on this beach between 1st May and 30th September, so if you holiday with pooches as we do you would need to use Trasaith Beach (about 4 miles from site) £2 car park but lots of steps to reach the beach, where you will find soft sand, a pub, a small café and toilets. Or venture to Aberporth beach free parking some of the year, a pub, a fish and chip shop, a café and toilets and shower. (You can take the coastal path from Aberporth and walk to Trasaith it is tarmac most of the way however when you approach Trasaith the path becomes gravel and uneven and there is a steep walk down to Trasaith itself so not suitable for people with walking problems)
Found a great Indian restaurant in New Quay called Royal Indian Brasserie which is about 20 minutes away by car.
Cardigan (15 minutes by car) has some lovely shops and coffee shops and an indoor market, there is also a decent Tesco and a few doors up an Aldi for your shopping, there is a Londis store about 1 ½ miles from site that stocks a huge range of groceries etc. But the prices are slightly high, there is also a great little farm shop about 1 ½ miles away too.
Aberaeron is worth a visit lovely harbour and the famous £1. 20 shop – which seems to sell things the £1 shop sell but they charge £1. 20 instead. Lovely little shops here and nice places to sit and watch the world go by.
Oh and for those of you bargain hunters out there, there is a car boot every Saturday just along the A487 (about 7-10 minutes by car)
This is a really dog and child friendly site too, the play equipment went down well (with the children not the dogs) There is a small enclosed area for dogs but to exercise them there are plenty of places to walk, there is a walk from site that is about a mile in total that we used a lot for the first walk of the day. Mostly we took the dogs to the beach for a run each day.

Nice site. Showers are spotless but cold a bit of heat would be nice. I choose this site for the dog facilities but was dissappointed. The dog exercise area was just a place for them to toilet. There is nowhere to walk your dog, only down roads, so you have to use local beaches, to get them any exercise, and dogs at certain times of the year are not allowed on the beach. No shop within walking distance no pub either, we visited all the local beaches and everyone is lovely but poppit sands is the best and free parking too

Warm welcome on arrival. Could not fault the facilities all very clean especially the toilet/shower block. Had 2 family tents and 4 children and the site felt very safe for them although a kick about area for older children would have been an advantage. Would agree that somewhere to put toiletries and clothes in the single shower units would have been an advantage. Decent shop nearby and army supply store proved invaluable. Just wish there had been some footpath/cycle routes even if only to the nearest pub. Would definitely revisit beautiful area, safe beaches and good places to eat.

Spent a week at this fab little site.
The toilet, showers and wash up facilities are spotless and well maintained.
They have facilities for campers who travel light and even an indoor dining area if the weathers poor and your stuck in a tent.
On arrival in our Rapido folding caravan we were welcomed and shown to our pitch that was well laid out and spacious.
The site is dog friendly and the owners made a fuss of our Greyhound and cross breed every day on their walk around.
Peaceful location with a range of local beaches within easy drive.
If your a dog person and like plenty of space then Poppit Beach is a must.
Thanks to the owners and wardens for maintaining such a gem of a site, see you next year.

The BEST site we have ever visited !. The cleanest showers and toilets we've ever used, plenty of HOT water. There is a nice laundry room and washing up area. And a small book exchange. A nice little play area for kids. And the staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The pitches are very generous in size and flat ! The site is well situated for visits to numerous beaches, and lovely little harbours. We spotted a small pod of Dolphins in New quay harbour !. We will definitely return to this site when we visit Wales again.

We have just returned from a 4 day break at this campsite with our 3 children aged 8, 6 and 5 and our 2 dogs, we booked the holiday at the last minute and quickly looked for a campsite near New Quay with decent reviews. We found the owners and the wardens to be very polite and helpful and the toilets and showers to be lovely and clean and warm. On arrival the owner came out to greet us and show us our pitch and the facilities, they were extremely helpful! We never had to queue once for a shower or the family room which was good. The games room for the children was an excellent idea, as was the dogs exercise area and the kitchen room! This is only a small campsite and we loved that there were hardly any traffic and we could let the children have some freedom. The main plus for us with this campsite was how quickly our children made friends with the other children, within a couple of hours of arriving they had a new group of friends and they didn't want to leave the site as they wanted to play with their friends, and they didn't want to come home! We normally visit large comercialised sites, but this site has converted us to the plus side of visiting small friendly sites with a nice friendly atmosphere.
The only negatives of this site were the fact that there was no small shop nearby to buy groceries, only a farm shop which was quite expensive. And also this site was further from the beach than we expected as we went there with the belief that we would be able to walk down to the beach with the dogs and the children, and a few other people said they thought the beach was closer to the site than it actually is. The all weather pitches are good but the pebbles drive you a bit mental as you are constantly finding them in your clothes, shoes and tent! The cockeral crowing at 5am was also not appreciated to be honest! We visited New Quay which is beautiful, and Aberaeron which is also nice. We would happily visit this site again for a week, and the children have also asked if we can return next year. The prices for this site are extremely reasonable compared to the larger sites too. All in all we are very happy campers!

This camp site is very well kept and strictly run by the owners and wardens. A mixture of tents and vans, we asked for a hard standing as we were towing our Smart car behind the motor home. The pitch was very large and fully serviced, more than adequate for our needs.
The toilet block and kitchen were excellent, good hot showers and very clean. There is also a sauna for campers to use by the hour on site. This is a busy site and during August was full. The play area was well used by all the children and contained a range of play equipment.
The site was very easy to find, with easy access. Although just off the nearby main road, far enough away for a peaceful nights sleep but 'Beware the cockerel!'
Shopping 5 minutes away and a farm shop for which we were given a shopping voucher nearby, great sausages! With a choice of so many beautiful beaches nearby we will be back.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Brynawelon. 2 adults & 2 children in a Trailer Tent.
On arrival we reported to reception and were then shown to our EHU pitch by a very nice gentleman. With only 40ish pitches on site it was very quiet even when the site was full and it stayed that way during our stay.
The toilet and shower block were exceptionally clean! The best I've seen to date! They are cleaned and checked regularly throughout the day, not a spot of mould/dirt to be seen. Well done guys! In the ladies, there are 2 family rooms which have a shower cubicle, toilet and sink in each and then there are an additonal 2 separate shower cubicles. There are 4 toilets in total, 1 in each of the family rooms and 2 additional toilets.
The one thing that did annoy me a little was that ladies going into the showers alone tended to use the family rooms and not the single shower cubicles. Being a Mum with 2 young daughters we never managed to get a family room because of this, it's a little tough to squeeze 3 of us into the single shower cubicles. However, this was not the owners fault, just the thoughtlessness of other campers.
The only one thing I would suggest to the owners would be to have a plastic table/bench in the single shower cubicles for somewhere to put your clothes and maybe some sort of shelf inside the cubicle itself to put shampoo and soap.
Beware! There is a cockerel in the next field to the campsite which crows VERY loudly between 4. 30am and 6. 30am! We were woken up by this every morning! Not nice when you'd like to have a lay in.
All in all, a wonderful campsite, a credit to the camping world!
