This site is newly refurbished, it has a bistro (nearly £10 for a burger!) and everything is very modern and spotless. The staff are very friendly and helpful and everything is just as you would expect for a Club site. However, there are no dividing trees or bushes and so the place is very clinical and the views are. Of other caravans, I'm afraid it wasn't for us, we like somewhere with a bit more character and a lot less soulless.

Stayed at this site for 3 nights in November and found it be usual caravan club standard with clean facilities. Ideal location to visit Harrogate and York if you have transport. The site is very open and therefore open to the elements. The dog walk is a reasonable size although the walk down to the field rather muddy.
Knaresborough is about 40 minutes walk away along the main road and there are a few shops and pubs in the town. Recommend the Guy Fawkes pub which is about 10 minutes walk in the other direction - very warm and welcoming with excellent food and service.

Arrived on site at the specified time of 1 Oclock checked in and chose a pitch, the one we found was a large hardstanding but there are smaller ones for smaller outfits and units without awnings. There are some grass pitches in another area which would be great for families and groups with children as these are next to the play area. There is also a small dog walk.
The facilities were clean the showers varied depending on which one you went in, one was very weak, and one was coming away from the wall, pointed towards the shower curtain with force and flooded everywhere. I think the building needs an update and for over £27 per night for two of us it should be really nice.
That said the site is pleasant, about 2 miles from Knaresborough, we walked and it took us 40 mins, caught a bus back but it cost £5. 60 just one way. Caught the train to York from Knaresborough station, the trains run very regularly, only takes half an hour we were advised to buy a 'duo' ticket which entitled one to travel half price only cost just over £11 return.
There is a bar/bistro on site but we didn't use it, we went to a pub called the chequers in a village a about five miles away and had the most excellent carvery. The guy fawkes pub meals in the village (ten mins walk) looked quite nice but we only went in for a drink.
A places worth visiting are Brimham rocks (AMAZING) and Plompton rocks (smaller with a lake and less walking).
All in all we enjoyed our stay but if visiting the area again would probably choose another site we think it's too expensive considering the facilities need an upgrade.

We spent two days at this site and we enjoyed our visits to Knaresborough and into Harrogate. We cycled everywhere and the staff at both Knaresborough and Harrogate Tourist Information offices were very helpful. The cycle routes they gave us details about were excellent.
We were disappointed with the site overall although the showers and toilets were very clean, as was the site. The welcome we received wasn't the usual friendly Caravan Club welcome. We were told we had requested a pitch without an awning (we hadn't) and were offered two choices of small pitches. We had booked our pitch four months before, so I asked if our pitch cost less than the other larger ones: I was told it wasn't. There was very little greenery around and we felt the site resembled a large car park. There was very little privacy for anyone.
We would definitely return to this area, but we would stay at another campsite.

Arrived to a warm and friendly welcome from the relief wardens. Lovely well maintained site. Site clean and tidy. Large level hardstanding pitches. Lovely peaceful site. Toilet block spotlessly clean and tidy. Bar/bistro on site sells delicious food. Only thing missing for me is the usual caravan club security barriers on entry and exits. Shop sells bit in October which I presume will stock more in the busier season. Its great that you can order papers in the on site shop. Morrisons about 10 minutes drive away. Will return to this site in the future.

Just returned from a two night stay at this lovely site. The pitches are large and of the usual Caravan Club standard. The facilities are spotless and the wardens were very helpful and friendly. An added bonus is the on site bar and bistro. The site is in a great place for visiting Knaresborough, Harrogate and surrounding areas. We walked to Knaresborough along the road and it took about 40 minutes. The only negative was the children's play area could do with a few more things to play on, but plenty of open green space to play on. We will definitely visit again very soon.

An excellent site in a beautiful area. Everything you want, very friendly wardens, facilities first class. Bus stop right outside to Harrogate, Ripon and knaresboro, a lovely walking, cycling area. A nice walk into Knaresboro with several pubs, shops and local activities. The Yorkshire Dales opens its doors to beauty, what more can you want!

This was our first visit to this site and we will certainly be back. It is a lovely site approximately 2 miles outside of Knaresborough. Facilities are spotless. The wardens are very friendly and very helpful. Mobile phone and Internet signal is poor on the site - or it was on our pitch (no 49). TV reception is good. The dogs loved watching the rabbits though on the large grass area next to our pitch.
There is an on site Bistro and Bar. We actually had a takeaway from there on our first night - it was even plated up for us and we certainly couldn't fault it. Would definitely recommend. There is a small children's play area and a dog walk on site. The Nidd Gorge is just a 5 minute walk from the site. Lots of lovely walks for the dogs. We walked into Knaresborough this way - it brings you to the entrance to Mother Shiptons Cave - worth a visit.
Knaresborough is a lovely place with a good selection of shops and cafes. The walk back to the site along the main road is quicker but it is a busy road and the paths are narrow in places.
Would certainly recommend this site

A nice well kept site. We had a two night stay and as we couldn't access the bistro on the first night the wardens directed us to the Guy Fawkes Arms pub. The food was excellent but I would advise that you book in advance as we couldn't get seated until 9pm. We managed to order a takeaway from the campsite bistro on the second night but if we are honest it tasted very bland and was very poor quality. We would not eat from the bistro again and that is reflected in our rating.

Spent 2 nights here and would recommend to all. The wardens are extremely helpful and the facilities are excellent. Lovely hot showers and spotlessly clean. The site has a bistro but as we were there for the first day of opening it wasn't open until the Sunday. So the wardens directed us to the Guy Faulks pub just a 10 minute walk away. The pub was lovely and the food excellent, definitely recommend going and eating there. There is also great walking at Nidd Gorge, which is 5 mins walk from the sight.
We will be returning some time soon, so we can sample the bistro.
