A very nice well maintained site, the 'Club House' serves basic food at a reasonable price.
The toilets are little below the normal standard of usual Caravan Club Sites, as is the children play area.
The caravan pitches are well maintained and quite level.
There is a little road noise if you are pitched near the entrance of the site.
In all a good site, I would return.

Smashing site. Wish it was a bit nearer to town as buses stop running very early. Clean toilets etc. Very handy to have a club house on site. The staff I did meet were very friendly. No shops in Scotton so missed my daily paper. But overall I would definitely visit this site again

Stayed here for a week with our two dogs. A nice clean and quiet site as expected from the CC.
It was quite full when we arrived and we were required to pitch on the grassed area at the top of the site.
Only a short drive to Knareborough, and Harrogate is only just a little further up the road.
Staff were friendly, and on our second to last day the weather really turned for the worst so we decided to return home. The staff were fine with this but the office was closed so couldn't give a refund. However they explained that if we ring the Caravan Club when we get home, then they would send us a refund, which they did.

Knaresborough Caravan Club site is about 2 miles from Knaresborough itself on the Ripley road and close to the village of Scotton.
The site has 74 pitches of which 52 are hardstanding and charges vary from £13.70 up to £19.55 for an outfit and 2 adults depending on season tents are also accepted on a large field at the top of the site which also accommodates some of the grass caravan pitches.
There is a large centrally located toilet / shower block incorporating a baby and toddler room, disabled facilities, laundry and dishwashing facilities all of which are modern and kept up to the usual Caravan Club standards. The reception also operates as small shop selling milk, eggs, and ice cream etc, newspapers are not available, the nearest supermarket is about 3 miles from site however Knaresborough itself has two of the smaller type convenience stores.
An information room is just outside the reception with the usual leaflets for nearby attractions as well as info on best places to eat etc.
There is also a small clubroom on site which was not open at the time of our visit, but was being prepared for opening soon, check with the site warden as to availability before you travel.
There is a small children’s play area with a climbing frame and slide for younger children.
Dogs are welcome on a lead, but the dog walk is off site on a bridal path which runs down to a small farm and is also used by some farm machinery and so not ideal.
There is some traffic noise on site due to its close proximity to some roads and to the farm at the rear but it is not too intrusive.
The site is ideally situated to tour the area, with Harrogate, Ripon and York with all there attractions within easy reach, also close by is Fountains abbey run by the National Trust and Lightwater valley theme park. Locally it is possible to walk into Knaresborough through the Nidd gorge which is a little over 2 miles and runs alongside the river for part of the journey, once there you can enjoy the delights of this historic town with its castle ruins and cobbled alleyways with quaint tearooms and welcoming pubs, walk alongside the river or hire one of the rowing boats and take to the water, there is plenty to while away a few hours.
A very pleasant site easy to access from the A1 with plenty to keep you entertained for a few days.

Clean and tidy site, my children like the play areas on sites and as the eldest is only 5 we don't allow them to wander on their own so when we got there to find just a slide they were disappointed. I don't think a slide should be classed as a play area !
Generator noise could be heard until quite late and had we parked any closer to it it would have been annoying.
A small number of children were running around the vans playing which didn't go down to well with us. Did find one or two of the wardens that welcoming so cant say this was one of the best sites that we have been too. Ok for a couple of nights but wouldn't want to stay longer. Also bar was closed and we weren't told about this !

Excellent site with very very good facilities easy
Access to the centre of Knaresborough, just a short trip to Ripley.
This site as 65 pitches all well kept and a good size on gravel.
Shower block close to all pitches, block is very clean, plenty of hot water, showers are great,
Reception very very helpful.
Will be coming back to this site.
A short drive away there is a pub which serves Sunday lunch ( just for got the name) reception will tell you.

Excellent site with good facilities situated halfway between Ripley and Knaresborough, the walk through the Nidd gorge to Knaresborough was very good. The site has roughly 65 pitches, we found a corner under the trees which was very pleasant. The facilities are modern and clean being within easy access of all the pitches and are warm. The play area could do with a few more items but it wasn't an issue. Don't understand why other reviewers state kids not welcome, ours were and enjoyed the visit. Wardens were pleasant.

I think all there is to be said has been said really. We stumbled upon this site heading away from the rain in the Lake District.
The warden was friendly.
The facilities great; book library for exchange or buy; homemade jams; fresh eggs; music & dvd hire. The cleanest and best equipped wash facilities I have seen all year.
The bar was closed when we called.
The walks were great. Although only there for a night I managed a walk in the woods just across the road. And although there is a key to the 'dog walk', you can access that area by just going outside the site and turning right into the lane. Even the farmer using that lane seemed mighty friendly when he passed me in a very ancient tractor.
We will definitely go back to explore the area.
The local pub in Scotton is lovely, welcoming and very dog friendly so will be going there again.
The pitches are mainly hard standing. We arrived without booking but the warden allowed us onto a spare grass pitch which was ok for the night and we were grateful for it, but wouldn't have wanted to stay a week because the ground was too soft - a result of the recent downpours. A marvellous site!

Stopped here as an over nighter on the way back from Scotland. Great little site. Very very well kept and a nice warm welcome (although they did not know we had booked via the call centre) Toilets and showers are very well kept. Did not find it a very quiet site I must say. There seemed to be a local generator going all hours which left a deep droning in the back ground and as the pitches are quite close a fair bit of noise from cars and neighbours in the early morning. As a stop over site Great. Not sure we would spend any longer there though.

Had a good warm welcome at this site.
Nice area to visit lots to do. Knaresborough has a lovely river with boat hire worth visiting.
The site itself was a little to be desired for
The site was covered in grey gravel which in my eyes made me feel really depressed(suppose the wet weather didn't help)
And I found the people on the site not very friendly.
Wont be visiting again unless every where else was fully booked.
