A beautiful well cared for site with extremely helpful and friendly wardens. We managed to trip off our electricity shortly after we arrived, hubby went in search of the warden and he happily came out and got us sorted immediately.
Lovely clean and warm toilet blocks with plenty hot water.
The site is a pleasant walk downhill to the lovely little town of Knaresborough and there was a bus to get back which stops directly opposite the site.
The site restaurant was excellent too - looking forward to our next visit.

This was our first visit to this site and we were very pleased with all aspects. Access into and out of the site was good. Large pitches (which we were able to choose) Well placed water fill and disposal areas and a centrally placed very clean and warm toilet and shower block. None of the facilities were too far from any pitch. The staff were helpful and pleasant.
The only negative was the on site cafe (not really a restaurant) the smell of stale/rancid cooking oil from the extractor vents was not too welcoming. Would we stay again - oh yes!

Prebooked the site and no one there on arrival. Warden told us where to pitch. Showers were cold and had a wasp nest. This I reported but wasps still in toilets on leaving. A child was badly stung.
Children are allowed no ball games. Slide and swings for the very small children. Shop had no milk. Building work taking place and a little noisy.
Short dog walk on site but no dog bins.
Plenty of places to visit knaresborough only 2 miles away with mother shipton caves. Pubs plentiful in driving distance.
Supermarkets in town but parking a little difficult.

Access to and from the site is pretty easy apart from one small section if approaching from Knaresborough where a section of the road is very windy and tight with sheer stone walls on both sides, easily negotiated if taken with care
As previously stated it's a very typical CC site - with very large hardstanding pitches, and everything as it should be,not very picturesque but serves its purpose.Clean and tidy site, with friendly wardens
We did notice some road noise.
Small Bistro / Bar on site and a five minute stroll to the local pub.
Knaresborough an easy two mile stroll with footpath all the way, or for a more scenic route take a walk through the Nidd Gorge which brings you out at Mother Shiptons Cave and the Worlds End Pub
Bus available from the entrance of the site to Harrogate or Knaresborough

We arrived unbooked and managed to get a pitch for an overnight stop. As always the site nearly full so little room for anyone not booking in advance.
Very typical CC site - large hardstanding pitches, everything very clean and tidy. Grass well cut when we were there. On the downside no real views and lots of gravel doesn't give such a good aesthetic look to the site.
Small Bistro on site - excellent food, friendly service and really well cooked food. Two dinners for under £10 was well worth it, the Bistro is a conservatory and really nicely decorated and exceptionally clean.
Site fairly near a road but no real noise impact.
We paid £20 for a grass pitch with elec - fairly expensive but reduces this week for lower price season.
A really clean and well kept site, friendly wardens and worth a visit.

We only had the one night here so this review may not cover all aspects of the site.
First impressions are that the roads to the site are quite narrow for those new to towing, especially the road out of Knaresborough. Nothing too hairy but worth mentioning nonetheless.
The site is easy enough to find and once there, easy enough to get around. There was no-one available at reception when we arrived but the instructions to pitch up and return to the office are self explanatory. Upon meeting a member of staff, he could not have been more helpful.
We had a choice of a number of pitches and ended up plumping for the one right at the top of the site, good for TV reception one may think. We couldn't get a signal.
Upon pitching here, we were unaware that the site has a secondary form of play area in the guise of 'a den!' This is in the bushes right next to where we were pitched. Champion for the kids! The primary play area is a little lacking in equipment but 'a den more than made up for it' said my kids. Just glad it hadn't rained for a while.
Dog walking, as has been mentioned, is on a bridle path just off site, dogs on the lead but the extender was enough for our pooch and he was happy with new smells.
The toilet/shower block was immaculate with hot water whenever we went. The dishwashing area was also very clean.
The shop was closed when the kids went for sweets but that was at toilet cleaning time so should probably be expected. We didn't use the bar but the other side of that coin is that we didn't hear it either.
All in all, a very pleasant stay and one which we'll repeat before the end of this year.

Just returned from 4 night stay. Nice enough site. Well laid out with hedges between some good sized, level pitches.Convenient for Harrogate and Ripon areas. Nearby Ripley is very pretty.
Not as well maintained as other CC sites. Grass needed a cut, lots of weeds. Toilets ran out of soap. Play area in corner of field only suitable for very young. No barrier entry and just off A road so not as secure as most CC sites.
Wardens not around on arrival, just a note to pitch and return. Shop poorly stocked and often shut. Ran out of ice cream and milk. Didn't sell papers. Wardens not in evidence much. May return but bit disappointed.
Dog walk is adjacent but cannot let off lead as track used by farm vehicles and sheep fields adjacent. Nice walks in Woodland Trust Nidd Valley 10 minute stroll away.

Arrived for our first visit to this site to a friendly welcome by the resident wardens. We have never been able to get booked in on this site before and now we can see why it is so popular.
Site was laid out very well, with bushes and trees providing some privacy and different levels and types of pitches from Grass, hardstanding and even serviced pitches.
Tents and caravans are welcome at this site.
There is a small play area for kids and a bistro joined on to the clubhouse serving hot meals to eat in or take away. Prices were reasonable too.
The site is about 2.5 miles from Knaresborough centre and the bus stop is outside the site entrance if you don't want to drive.
Guy Fawkes Arms pub in the village is about 5 minutes walk away and is very welcoming to locals and campers alike. They even allow dogs in! The night we visited there was a female vocalist on who was quite good, and also a table set out with free homemade pies and chips, excellent!
Toilets, showers, pot washing facilities were some of the nicest we have seen on a club site, decorated with flowers and pot pourri baskets.
This is easily one of the best CC sites we have visited and other CC site wardens could not go wrong by trying to be as friendly as the wardens at Knaresborough.
We will definitely be back !

A very well maintained, clean and tidy site. This is our second visit this year and I'm sure we will return.
We got a fantastic pitch on this occasion flat level and oh so big, between the Bistro and the toilet block.
We enjoyed a good long walk along the adjacent bridle way which if you follow it leads you right round to the road from Knaresbrough that goes to the site.
Ripley Castle and more importantly Ripley Ice cream is not too far and well worth a visit.
Well recommended site!

We managed to get in here last minute for a Bank Holiday weekend.
Site very clean and tidy - hardstanding pitches large and even.
Plenty of hot water - showers and toilet very clean even on a wet day.
Wardens very helpful and friendly.
We tried the food and that was so much better than expected - hubby said the steak was cooked to perfection and tasted fantastic prices were reasonable for food this good.
Being open over winter will definitely be on the list for a return visit
