Been here a couple of times. Lovely campsite, staff very friendly and helpful. Toilet / showers first class. Many walks nearby, you can walk along the riverside (some steep bits) into the lovely town of Knaresborough where there are good pubs & we had the best curry we have ever had in the Spice Merchant, Castlegate in Knaresborough. There is a bar & restaurant on site but we have yet to sample the food. The Guy Fawkes pub just down the road serves food but last time we went it wasnt up to much - although beer good. Hope to go to this site again before the years out.

A lovely site with particularly large, well-spaced pitches. Small and compact with a friendly feel. Toilet block immaculate, wardens very friendly and helpful, and the added bonus of a licensed bar and restaurant on site - handy for those with young children who don't want to go off-site. We stayed 3 nights and found loads to do; the beautiful Nidd Gorge can be accessed just by walking down the road, and it's a short drive to Fountains Abbey and Brimham Rocks. Knaresborough itself is an attractive town, with a good market on Wednesdays. Highly recommended.

The site is maintained to the usual high standards we now expect of the Caravan Club. And it has an added bonus: a licenced bar serving meals. We ate there; the food was very good pub grub and the barman was friendly and very professional. The bar is open 6 days a week at the moment (closed Tuesday nights) and is well worth supporting because it's a great facility on what is a relatively small camp site. We used the site as a one-night stopover and it poured with rain all afternoon/evening so we saw very little of the surrounding area. Our hard standing was level and huge and although the wind was blowing a hoolie we were well sheltered and didn't experience too much buffeting. Facilities were clean, accessible and in good condition. Pitches are a little regimented and characterless but they are all in excellent condition and very well looked-after by the wardens. The wardens close reception around lunch time as it's a one-couple site, but a notice was prominently displayed asking for arrivals to take any vacant pitch and call back later. This worked fine. A nice camp site.

We have just returned from 2 nights stay on this site. The site is kept to a very high standard with modern immaculate facilities. We did not use the club house which is licensed for drinks and also serves meals but we saw others using it. If you like walking we have found the booklet which can be bought from the office is cery useful for local walks. We enjoyed our two nights here and will definitely return.

Our 1st visit to a CC site and we were impressed. Although when booking on-line they ask for a time of arrival they don't tell you that no one will be in reception when you get there. So we took it upon ourselves to find our own pitch....didn't know if this was the right thing to do but lucky enough it was. The site is very clean and shower and toilet blocks are fantastic. The thing I noticed was that it was like keeping up with the jones's and it was a bit posh for me....also quiet.... tooo quiet

We arrived about 1pm but no warden around - note on door said choose pitch and come back later and tell them which one. Pitches laid out in rows, so no particularly attractive features, but neat and tidy. Shower block fairly new - my husband said it was the best campsite shower he had ever had! Dog walk is along lane beside the campsite between fields. Warden was very friendly and helpful. Knaresborough is lovely, Thomas the Baker in the market square does wonderful cheese and ham/bacon rolls, yum yums (my favourite)etc. Carriages wine bar does great food, but rather pricey. We went there for the FEVA festival - some brilliant trompe l'oeil doors to be hunted out around the town. FEVA theme colour is shocking pink, which livened up the place. I'd definitely come back here.

Beautiful site - lovely friendly wardens. Perfect bathroom for young children. Toilets and showers clean and very warm. Play area small but fine for young ones. Close to Fountains Abbey, Ripon and park and ride to York. Spotless facilities and site. Would certainly go back.
