Not much to dislike about Channel View, stayed on a Meadow Electric pitch so there are two gates and a quiet public road to navigate on the way to the toilet and shower block (immaculately clean).
Very warm welcome, excellent wardens, great pitch, lots of space, it did get pretty windy occasionally but we rode our eBikes into Burnham and back on the beach & climbed the steps to Brean Fort.
This is an exemplary site and good value, toilet cubicles cramped but showers hot and free, plenty of hooks and shelves to hang and place your stuff, I guess they’ve updated since one of the earlier reviews on here, strong 4G on EE.
Surprised that there were no separate recycling bins.
The facilities are now on a coded lock so no key deposit required.
If you venture as far as the Brean ‘strip’ you will wonder how this site can be so peaceful when the brash bit is so close by.

2nd time we have been on this site, its fairly basic,
Last time we had no problems with the wardens this year they are new they were very rude, not at all polite, you felt like you were being watched with every move you made,
The toilets were dirty, they were not cleaned during our 3 night stay.
Would not advise staying

When arriving at channel view my wife and I were immediately assisted in settling in at the site by Bob and Sue and during our stay at this site.
With such a beautiful view and great facilities. We were made welcome and had a fantastic stay with our 2 dogs who were also very happy.
Greatly recommend.

Superb area - virtually on the beach.
You can have sea view or not sea view.
If you have sea view, the pitch isn't flat, so you will need very high chocks to make your van level.
Owners are very friendly and very helpful, as were other people on the site.
The EHU's are quite far apart, so if you need them, bring extra long cables.
Only stayed one night, but it was quite a nice place.

Lovely site, this is our first visit and what a find. Wonderful beachside location, you can have a sea view, although it can be windy. Or a view across the fields.
Quite basic, no shop or cafe, but they do stock some basic items in reception and there's a shop, cafe, pub, fish & chip and Chinese takeaway a short walk away.
Dog friendly. Two well kept toilet & shower blocks, spotless. No charge for showers. The staff are very friendly and really helpful.
And my favourite bit, down some steps and you're straight onto the beach, 7 miles of it, all dog friendly. Fab!

We stopped at this site in our touring caravan as we have a child and a dog and it was practicaly on the beach, we were welcomed onto the site and directed to the paddock field which was very well maintained with all the essentials ie water, water waste, toilets, showers, washing up sinks and general waste bins.
The toilets and showers could not be faulted, the staff kept them clean to a very high standard as was the rest of the site, if someone left the toilets in a mess as unfortunately some people dothe staff soon had them back to a high standard.
The staff worked extremely hard to keep this high standard and cater for our needs and other holiday makers that needed help with one thing or another.
The views were amazing and the site was nice and peaceful, I will definitely be returning to this site in the near future.
Thank you all very much for providing my family and myself a wonderful holiday experience.

Excellent site that really is by the beach. The sea wall in the Paddock is low enough to see over, no wonder it gets booked up. Showers all fine. Dog-friendly site. Wardens very friendly and helpful. Safe for kids but no special facilities (not needed anyway).
10 minute flat walk to 2 cafes, National Trust shop and Brean Down. The noisy sites in Brean are a world away and you'd never know they were there. Channel View is just a field overlooking the sea. Wonderful.
Dogs and ten-year-old child loved the beach and even managed a paddle when the tide was in. Beach is 7 miles long so there's loads of room for everyone. Horses often use it too, and you can park on it.
Great site. Will definitely return.

This is the second time we've been to this site. Last time we were in the paddock and it was incredibly windy. We had to get sand pegs, which worked much better!
This time we were over in the main field, which was way less windy (although still quite 'full on' at times!).
We love this site. As others have said, the wardens are really friendly and helpful. We found the second toilet block this time, which my daughter liked as there were way less spiders in it! The 'basic' toilet block is always clean. It has 3 toilets and 2 showers, but without separate bit to them means you tend to get your clothes wet! However, the 'big' toilet block has about 6 showers, each with a separate changing section. The water in the showers is always hot. As someone says, there is a £5 returnable deposit for the key.
There is a washing up area next to both toilet blocks, both of which are clean. In the one by the wardens trailer, there is also a book exchange and lots of leaflets about the local area.
The beach is right there, and even being on the main field this time, we still felt near enough to the beach to pop over there whenever. There is a road to cross, but it has good, clear visibility and cars are usually going quite slow anyway.
Drinking water and bin are also over on the main field, as well as near the toilets.
While it's a bit of a distance from the main part of Brean, you can easily walk or cycle along the beach to get there. If you do drive, park in the pool car park as it's cheaper than the one opposite the park! We much prefer the location as its less busy and quieter.
We'll definitely be back again.

Been here twice now, absolutely fantastic views looking over towards Bristol Channel/Steep Holm and the beach is very well maintained so ideal for the kiddies. The site itself is very nice and clean, very well catered for whether you need EHU or not, there are 2 lots of toilet blocks one is very new and the other one is very out dated but still very clean, site warden is very hopefully and friendly and nothing seems to be a problem, dogs are also welcomed to but must be kept on a lead. The owner also came around to let us know of a weather warning and she was very friendly too, highly recommended if your looking for somewhere quiet, we'll be back again without a doubt.

Chose this site as it is on the beach, lovely views of the Bristol Channel and Brean Down. Unfortunately the weekend I visited it was super windy, 25-30 mph gusts. Not such a good idea in hindsight, due to the constant sand blasting! I will be dust pan & brushing sand out of my tent for the foreseeable future - let alone my poor eyes & ears!
I pitched in the paddock (no electricity) and thanks to the very helpful warden pitched my tent behind a building which sheltered me slightly from the wind.
The site is predominantly caravans, motorhomes and camper vans, though a few more tents pitched up as the weekend progressed.
A deposit of £5 secured a key for the toilet/shower block. This is to restrict access only to people staying at the site, rather than visitors to the beach. There were 4 toilets and 2 showers in the ladies. Very clean but could have done with more than just one hook on the back of the shower door. Lovely hot water and no push button to worry about tho!
The wardens were very kind and helpful, offering to charge any gadgets as I didn't have EHU.
Brean Down is a fab walk with amazing views and I highly recommend having a look around Brean Fort, very interesting, though not open everyday, so check with National Trust.
Overall for views, cleanliness of facilities & helpfulness of wardens I would have awarded 9/10, but due to the constant sandblasting (which I was informed that it is usually very windy here) & as a solo camper I felt £14 a night was a bit steep as other than toilets, showers & 2 washing up sinks there are no other facilities, so I give it a 6/10.
