Superb campsite. Basic but very clean and so close to the beach that the kids can almost do it on their own (with their own private beach access) Mine were only 6 yrs old older would be fine (walkie talkies would be an excellent addition). Site staff very kind, informative and friendly.
This site is right on the beach with only a small wall holding back the wind so be prepared for windy weather. Awnings need to be up for the task (or not raised in high winds).
Reading prev reviews. If you want a sea view, ask for pitches 1 - 10 where the sea wall is lower but you loose the wind protection.
I took 3 6yr olds and 2 dogs with me which was pretty hectic but the beach is only 3 mins away we were able to dip in and out depending on the weather. Slightly more sheltered with now sea view (pitch 32)
Beach is lovely and sandy (and cleaned high season) but check the tide times if you want to dip your toes because when tide out the sands are unsafe.
Just down the road (5 mins drive) you have all the arcades, pleasure park and eateries you could wish for - if that's what you want but it is slightly removed from the site so you can take it or leave it.
Showers not free and a bit basic (clean) but I managed to shower 3 under 7's and me for £1. 50 and the reception always has plenty of 20p s for the showers.
The grey waste disposal rather oddly has high sides to it and being a woman alone it was a bit of a struggle but I managed and prob no prob for a bloke.
Being close to public beach, there is £5 deposit for toilet block key (which is fine) a little inconvenient if you are running back and forward with multiple kids. However the flexibility regarding leave time (with a cost £2. 50 til 1pm £5. 00 til 5pm) is a lovely bonus. Please let them know you want late leaving when you book at peak times so they can organise pitches accordingly
All in all I would certainly visit again (maybe even next month), I like quiet and basic (and clean)and the proximity to the beach on this site is fantastic but you trade that in for lack of shelter.
The Place just down the road has excellent food cooked to order, reasonably priced and child friendly (right opposite pontins). Loads of local shops (not on site) for milk etc

We stayed here on our way to Cornwall and in fact I am there now on our return.
Location is fantastic. There is a 4 ft wall, at one side is our motorhome and on the other is a beautiful beach. I could leave this motorhome now and be on the sand in less than a minute. The beach is dog friendly.
Its not very built up just outside, just green fields, but a short walk (10 mins) there is a pub and take away. A good walk away is a little seaside resort with shops, bars, amusements etc.
Toilet block clean so no complaints there. Owner was very friendly and the cost with hook up was £15 or £17. 50 with a sea view. I believe that the other field is cheaper.
Good freeview signal and also good signal on O2 and three.
Although most pitches are level, the one we had with the sea view was on a slope so take plenty of levelling ramps.
The first time we stayed it was a bit windy, the second time it was very windy, so if tenting take plenty of strong pegs and/or check the weather.
No shops, bar, kids play area on site but all could be found nearby. Overall I rate this 10/10.

A lovely site. The location is superb. It is beside the glorious sandy Brean beach. We were in a camper van and parked beside the site wall offering us the most glorious view of the beach, the cliffs in the distance and of course the sea.
The facilities were lovely and clean, the shower took 20p's and it was suggested 60p would give a good shower which it did indeed. There was a good indoor wash up area.
The wardens were super friendly and welcoming.
This is a site that is clean and tidy, organised without feeling regimented.
I'd definitely recommend this site, it's location is good for visiting Cheddar, Weston, etc!

Yet another well deserved review and an apology.
I mistakenly stated previously that the cost of a pitch with a sea view is an extra £5. Its actually £2.50
Have just stayed for another 3 nights and apart from the not so good weather, had a great time.
Greeted on arrival by two of the most friendly wardens you could wish to meet.
Given the choice of pitch by the sea wall and then escorted to it with the offer of help putting up our awning.
Its peaceful, lovely views across the channel, very clean site, grass kept well mown, toilet/shower blocks basic but spotless at all times of the day.
If its a one night stop over, a couple of nights, a week or even longer, you cant beat this for value.
Coming back in September so fingers crossed for the weather this time.

Stayed here just for one night. We paid an extra £2.00 for a sea view but unless we sat on top of the caravan we couldn't see the sea! Nice location if you want the beach but a short drive to nearest shops, pubs etc.
The toilets and showers were clean but I only took one 20 pence piece for a shower and I didn't finish washing so good job I didn't wash my hair!
The people who ran the site were very nice and friendly. Would stay here again but wouldn't opt for a sea view.

Just got back from spending the bank holiday weekend in Brean on Channel View touring park and what a fantastic weekend we have had. We originally wanted to stay in Weston-S-Mare, but everywhere was fully booked so we opted for Brean, which I'm so glad we did! plenty of room for the dogs outside, as well as the gorgeous beach that was 2minutes from our caravan. We opted to stay in the 'meadow' as opposed to the seafront which would have cost a little extra per night. A mini supermarket and cracking pub within walking distance. The meals available in the pub were very nice, did not think much of the chinese/fish and chip takeaway next door though.
Plenty of room I felt between each pitch, did not feel we were right on top of each other.Cant comment about the on site facilities as we used our own facilities within our caravan, however, I never heard any complaints. Wardens were very helpful, guided us to our pitch and helped us position the van, rather than just giving us a pitch number to find! Will 100% be coming back to this site and 100% recommend it to others. A great base as we went to Brean, drove to cheddar gorge in 30mins and Weston-S-Mare in 20mins. I rate the site 10/10.

Have just returned from a 4 night stay at Channel View.
Pre-booked a pitch up by the sea wall which is an extra £5 per night.Well worth the money for the fantastic view along the beach and across the channel.
Have been coming here for the past 4 years and is ideal for a short break for us from Bristol.
Facilities are basic but the owners at the site are very helpful and accommodating.
Toilet/shower block is always clean and tidy.
Pitches are kept well mown with almost no litter to be seen.
For a basic caravan site with fantastic views,it really cannot be beaten.

Just spent Bank Holiday weekend there and had to come home early. They put us in the caravan side which has a wall between you and the beach, which in my opinion is not suitable for tents as it is way to windy.
They do not like kids playing in the park they prefer you to send them off to the beach, not suitable for a 3 year old to go off on his own. As we were informed that no balls were allowed on site. He had a little tennis ball. Yet in the other fields it was fine
The showers are clean but basic and its a 5 minute car journey upto the main attractions.
It is also a nice walk which doesn't seem to take to long.
I would say this site is more suitable for caravans/motor homes than tents due to the strength of the wind blowing in from the sea which is a shame as the views are lovely.

Just got back from Channel View, our third visit there this year, so it must have something to offer! The kids love it here, which is amazing as there is nothing on site for the kids, but a one minute walk across a not very busy minor road gets them onto a brilliant beach.
About a ten minute walk from the site is Brean Down, a large hill that juts out into the sea, it takes about 2-2.5 hours to walk completely around, but the views from the top are breathtaking, you can see back across the local countryside and Weston Super Mare. You can also see across the Bristol Channel to Cardiff, bring binoculars and you can see the Millenium Dome!
There are some small shops a ten minute walk away that sell the necessities, such as bread, milk, alcohol etc. There is a wednesday market at the large Warren Farm holiday park which is well worth a visit, again a ten minute walk from the site but go in your car, or you will have to carry all the bargains back by foot.
This is a basic, no frills site, the toilets/showers are adequate and kept clean, there are about 15 or so electric hook ups, but if you want one make sure you book in advance. Dog's are welcome and my little Staffy, Bella, loved the beach, which allows dogs all year round.
A great place for mom and dad to relax while the kids wander off to do their own thing.
Thoroughly recommended.

Just back from this site after one of the hottest weekends of the year which does of course make a difference!
We were pitched in the Paddock with a sea view - our tow hook was inches from the sea wall. Great views over the beach and fab sunsets but can imagine it wouldn't be nice in bad weather as Brean is quite windy. There is access from the site directly onto the beach or you can jump over the wall!
You pay a £5 refundable deposit for a key to the washblock and the showers take 20p's. You need between 40p-60p for a shower. There were 2 showers in the Ladies and 3 toilets - basic but kept clean and perfectly adequate.
Brean itself has numerous campsites and static holiday sites and this site is for those who like to be away from clubs and lots of facilities - there is no bar, playpark, shop etc. There is a cafe at Brean Down which is about a 5-10 min walk and all the usual seaside shops / pubs and cafe's are located a bit further up the road.
A word of warning - the beach is sandy but the sea is dangerous here owing to the fact that Brean and Berrow has one of the largest tidal ranges in the world. The tide goes out for over 1 mile exposing mud flats so if you want to swim I believe there's an indoor swimming pool at Burnham on Sea.
We will be back (when the weather's good).
