Loved this site, I think its a gem, its not a commercialised site, there isn't even a swing for children, so if you want clubs, pools, play areas and an arcade this isnt the site for you. We took advantage of my children being taken away by my sister and booked a 2 night weekend break which was very cheap, it was still classed as Easter yet it was only £20 per night with electric on a seaview pitch with 2 dogs (dogs are free) very good value for money.

Booking over the telephone was very efficient and friendly. Arrived on site late in the evening to very friendly wardens who booked us in and explained everything.

Seaview pitch was just behind the sea wall, views were spectacular, grass pitch (you will need levelling blocks) well drained and a hop skip and a jump from the beach. There is an information room with books and leaflets, a pot wash, lots of rubbish bins and water points, toilets & shower blocks and a great TV reception that's it.

Peaceful and quiet, very dog friendly, spotless and well tended. The toilet and shower block near the wardens caravan is slightly more basic than the new heated one they have had put in recently but the newer ones are a little bit further to walk than the older one from the paddock where we were pitched. The new block is modern and warmer but both are spotless with loads of hotwater and toilet paper & soap.

Loads of things to do in the area for young and old Brean has a chippy / takeaway / local spar typeshop, amusements, a fair, market, gift shops, a subway and plenty of pubs quite a walk from the site, we went to Burnham which I really like but Weston and the whole of Somerset is in easy reach. The National trust walk and cafe at the far end of the beach is worth a visit too just for the walk to the top of the hill for the views. Tesco and Morrisons in Burnham all you could need within a few miles. Imagine in hot weather this site is full mainly due to the superb access to a dog friendly/child friendly flat beach

Paid £5 for a late checkout until 4pm, they also do storage by week month or season or year round.

Will definitely revisit 10/10 and a big thank you to the friendly lovely site warden couple

Despite some of its downsides we really enjoyed our three night stay on this small and friendly site.

The wardens were very helpful, the nightly charge of £13. 50 and no charge for dogs was very reasonable, don't bother paying for a sea view it goes out an awful long way, but the very nice beach is just over the sea wall.

The toilets and showers are very dated and a bit tight for a big bloke, however they were always clean and you have to pay £5. 00 deposit for a key, probably to keep the public out from the adjacent beach. You will need levelling blocks.

The area is great for walkers, the pub is 15 minutes away serves really good food, and allows dogs

Now the big downside, Brean is one massive caravan site, so the summer for us is a major NONO!, so our advice would be go very early or as we did very late in the season.

Would we go again definitely!

What a brilliant little find, I was sent to Warren farm but they were full by my parents and I was so pleased to find this site.

The reception was welcoming though we just turned up On a Saturday we were given a choice of fields and chose the lower of the two. Ideal for walking, the beach and cafe further down the road.

If you want all singing and dancing and your kids entertained by others this is not the site for you, go to a much bigger site and pay the price.

The toilets and showers were fine you are camping after all.

The sea views and beautiful location was a gem and just what we needed for the two of us and our large German shepherd.

Did I like the site yes, would I go again yes definitely I loved the peace and quiet this site gave.

We hadn't been camping for many years and chose Channel view as a site to try out our new tent. We were not disappointed.

We were met on arrival by two friendly wardens who occupy a caravan on the 'caravan side' of the park. They explained to us where the toilets/showers were etc. A £5 is required for access to blocks and is refundable upon departure.

We arrived on a Wednesday and there was plenty of room in the field. One side is reserved for electric hook-up leaving us to choose our own pitch from other areas. The field is level and kept neat and tidy. There were a couple of water taps and rubbish bins. The park is split into two parts-caravan and tents. To access the toilets from the tent field you must cross a very minor road. Always clean but take loo roll as not always present.

We were able to purchase free range eggs from the wardens and enjoyed a fry up !They also offered a ice block freezing service.

Now down to location. The park is practically on the sea front and this does lead to some very windy weather! Many of us tried to overcome this with carefully positioned car parking to try to block winds. At the foot of Brean Down (5 min walk) there is a cafe and shop but can't rate as we didn't visit. The arcades etc are probably best visited by car as to walk is probably around 30 mins.

Overall we had a very peaceful break. The site is very basic but that is just how we like it.

We were really excited to try Channel View after it was very highly recommended.

On arrival the wardens were really helpful, getting us quickly sited. The location is the best part of this place. Right on the beach and about a 15 minute walk from the shops, restaurants and arcades of Brean.

The toilet and shower blocks are accessed by a key, which you have to pay a £5 returnable deposit for. They were clean but very basic and showers cost 20p for a couple of minutes. Also, both blocks are on the opposite side of the road from the camping 'Meadow' where we were pitched.

The problems started very quickly after arriving. We were not allowed one of our vehicles on-site as it has sign-writing. (This wouldn't have been a problem if it had been mentioned on their website).

We were then told we could not put up our gazebo - again, this wasn't mentioned on the website. We camp a lot and so are used to the rules of campsites so I always check websites before we travel.

Unfortunately we had to ask for a refund and had to pack up and leave just hours after arriving. Needless to say, we won't be staying here again! Far too many rules when you consider you are basically sleeping in a field.

Diamond Jubilee week seems a long time ago but anyone camping in the West Country or Wales will remember it well - heavy rain and gale force winds interspersed with gloriously sunny weather. We were lucky enough to be camped up at Channel

View, a lovely site right next to the beach and a short hike to Brean Point. The showers and toilets

Are spotless and the grounds are very well kept.

The wardens are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Without the help they gave us when the worst storm broke we wouldn't have a trailer tent now. Anyone thinking of using this site - go for it. It's in a lovely location, very quiet out of the hub hub of the parks further up the road, they take dogs, and there is superb walking all within a few miles. Food is available nearby - a pub and a fish and chip shop. Also you can get fresh eggs on site. We thoroughly recommend it.

I want to tell you all this place is terrible stay away!. But that would be me being selfish, as I kind of like to think of it as a best kept secret for those in the know! You probably have read all the other reviews about what's there and what's not, How good or bad stuff works like showers etc. Etc. So on and so forth, Blah Blah Blah.

Look, your camping, it ain't gonna be like stopping at the hilton now is it?. If you are the type that needs five stars, Nightlife entertainment, pools, mini golf and on site shop etc. Wrong site for you! Please go down the road to the many others, but if you appreciate quiet, being a stone's throw from the beach, great views, well kept site, friendly chilled warden and owners, friendly campers then this is for you!

Yes the showers/toilets are possibly 3 days older than cricket but who cares, is that not part of the charm and fun of camping?

I Love this little place and so do my boys

We have returned here time and time again (sometimes on spec) and have found that the busy owners and wardens are always accommodating. We turned up one weekend poss late sept/early oct. The season had officially ended but was a mini heat wave, can we stop? yes, but sorry the grass is uncut, a foot long as season was over but was the best time ever! My boys love the beach being just past a wall away and the noise of the sea at night lulls them and you to sleep at night.

They were babies when we first came, then toddlers, now growing lads of 10, 7, and 4. If you say 'camping' this place is what they think of first!

No Frills, No Messing, Just outdoors, Fresh Air, Just great.

For this reason I/We have stopped many times and return year after year.

P. S I have given 2 stars on facilities only because it is what it is, toilets, showers, sinks in a shed basically, but works for me.

I'll start with the good points because the site has many.

-Friendly staff.

-Dogs allowed. Even big lugs like my 5 and a half stone Shadow.

-Safe for children to run around as roads are fenced off and there is a strict 10mph speed limit on the grounds.

-The beach is so close, you can almost send the kids on their own. I made sure to let them know that they should stay on the wall above the rocks to watch the sea.

-Beautiful grounds. Well maintained and clean. The views are fantastic. You can watch the sunrise on the farm side and the sunset on the beach side.

-Proximity to entertainment is ideal. When possible, it is recommended that you don't walk out on the road to the pubs, Chinese take-away, chicken & pizza place, etc. We walked along the beach and got there via the public access point about a half mile down. There is also a very well stocked shop called 'Bunnies' on the grounds of the caravan park next to the pub.

Now the wobbly bits.

-The toilets are accessible by standard keys, not electronic fobs. Because of this, they don't always work on the first try. On half the locks, you have to wiggle and jiggle in order to open them. It's a difficult thing to deal with especially when you're desperate for the toilet at 4am. They are also not the cleanest and there are too few for a site of its size. Loo roll was not replenished at the rate necessary.

-The showers are VERY limited and there are always queues for them. However, queues are not the issue. The issue is the fact that they are ancient, coin operated showers that are always breaking down. I don't mind waiting and paying for a shower that works but I do mind waiting and paying for a shower that A. Won't start and B. Only runs barely over a trickle for 30 seconds. It's supposed to be 20p for 3 minutes. Fortunately, the staff were very understanding and refunded the money I lost on the very brief shower.

-Although the site is child friendly, there is no playground. I mentioned it is safe enough for kids but an enclosed play area would make it even better.

This place has amazing potential. With some investment, they could have the perfect site.

Just got back from a week at channel view, this is the third time we've visited this site and like a majority of the reviews it is somewhere we would definitely use again.

The site itself is the only touring park on the seaward side of Brean so it boasts outstanding views of the down and the five mile stretch of beach with stunning sunsets over the Bristol channel.

The site is split into three fields, two on the seaward side and one across the lane which looks like it's used predominately by campers due to it's more sheltered position, you pay extra for a sea view pitch but at £2:50 a night it's well worth it, and you will find the television takes a back seat to give way to the amazing views.

Although there are no swings and slides on site for children the beach makes a excellent playground and keeps ball games away from the caravans, there is a beach warden on duty during the day but it is advisable to warn your kids about the mud flats and not to go to far out.

The wardens are very friendly and easy going, if you have a sea view pitch they help pull your caravan right up to the seawall and any problems their always willing to help out.

The site is serviced by two toilet/shower blocks with key access(for a £5:00 deposit)these are kept clean on a daily basis at around 7-7:30am so if your an early bird you have to work round the wardens, the showers are coin operated so make sure you stock up on 20 pences (normally 60 pence for an average shower), there is also washing up room but no laundry facilities, the blocks are a little bit dated and I'm sure a refurbishment wouldn't go a miss but this is a basic site and reflects in the price.

The site is situated away from Brean but a five minute walk brings you to the Brean Down Inn and adjacent chippie/chinese takaway, Weston is a 20 minute drive away but when you get fed up with amusements, burger bars and gift shops Wells, Chedder Gorge, Clarkes village and Wookey Hole are within an hours drive.

To sum up, this is an excellent site, away from the hustle and bustle of the main sites in Brean, so if your looking for a quite site with stunning views and a child friendly atmosphere then this the site for you.

I have just returned from a 2 night stay at this site and would definitely return. I was greeted by a friendly warden who gave us a choice of 2 fields to camp in. We chose the one closer to the beach. It cost us £17 a night for 2 adults and 1 tent and 1 car, £2 extra for each extra child and car.

We did not have electric hook up so were able to turn up without booking. There was plenty of room, not too close to fellow campers. Over a 3 ft wall aprox 50 ft away from our tent was the beach. The sea came in at about 8 in the morning and 5 in the evening.

The shower blocks were 60p for a shower and were clean and functional. £5 deposit for the key which was refunded.

It is a lovely place to stay, nice and quiet and away from the other end of the beach by Pontins and amusement arcades and the fair, but about a 10 minute drive away. Beware if you do go to Brean Leisure Park as there are lots of rides that you cant get onto with the wristband, especially for younger children.

There is a really lovely walk up the side of the cliff and cliff top walk about 1/2 mile away and they sell cream teas and fabulous ice cream at the bottom of the cliff on the beach.

I did not think it was made clear what time we were meant to leave the site on the last day. I over stayed my welcome by about 4 hours and was advised by the owners that it was on my ticket and signs all over the place but I did not see them, However the owner did not fine me and let me off

We had a great time and plan to go back again 10/10
