Just spent 5 nights at this lovely campsite.
We usually stay on smaller sites but this campsite did not feel big at all, the pitches are huge and what we liked was you choose your own pitch
The campsite was spotless and so were the facilities and plenty of them. No push button showers so a big plus, nice big cubicles couldn't fault them.
A 15 -20 minutes walk to Southport so much to see and do, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.
We caught the train which was again 15-20 minutes walk from the site. We went to Another Place to see the 100 life size bronze models scattered along Crosby Beach (worth a visit) the train ticket was £11. 20 for the two of us and you can get on and off as many times as you like, we got off and had a walk around Fornby. Never had to wait for a train they are so regular.
If I could add a comment about having keys for the toilets, the times I forgot it and when it was dark it was a little difficult to see the lock. A number press would possibly be better?
Can't wait to come back. Thank you for a very pleasant break 😊

Lovely spotless site. Lovely helpful staff.
Depending where your pitched tv reception not good but hey ho your not on holiday to watch telly.
Short walk to town where there are many restaurants and cafe’s that accommodate dogs which was great.
Morrisons just a wee short walk from site.
Beach just across from site and lovely park just behind site.
The only gripe I had if I had to say one was that when things are happening in the park sometimes a lot of noise while their putting stands etc up. But that’s not the sites fault.
We really enjoyed our stay as some has mentioned the park and ride just across the road which is handy if you have a motorhome and don’t want to drive it out and about.

This is a great site for visiting Southport.
The facilities were clean and tidy, we stayed in the long strip on the site which was handy for Victoria Park and walking the dog.
TV reception was a bit limited due to the trees though. It was sheltered from the wind though.
We walked into Southport where there are a number of shops. We had food and drink in Southport Market, which appeared to be one of the better places.
We also got a return bus (47 or X2) to Liverpool which took about an hour, we managed to see quite a few sites there in a day.

Just had a pleasant four nights at a site we go to a lot.
There are some reviews on the site which give it good markings, and I agree it is a good site that is well maintained by friendly helpful staff.
Quite a few years ago the site was extended and the newer section is quite flat but the hardstandings are very difficult to peg into even with good rock pegs.
The weather was fine whilst we were there but the site is vey near the coast and could do with more tress to create windbreak or protection.
The local chippy near Ainsdale station is very good, I used the railway car park to park up for our fish and chips not sure if I was allowed to do this.
The local pub Fisherman's Rest is a pleasant walk away 10 minutes, they keep good beer and the food is ok.
The adjacent park Victoria park is used for South Port flower show and more recently I have noticed many caravan rallies being allowed to the use the facilities.
However the weekend we spent we could have booked for a park concert "Save the Rave". We didn't go and didn't hear anything but the wind helped keep any noise down.
It really is a pleasant site and I will be returning.

The site was kept spotlessly clean and tidy, the wardens were super friendly and helpful going so far as to reserve us a spot near the toilet block when I emailed saying husband was on crutches and couldn't walk far.
There was lots of information about what was on in the area. The toilet block was very clean and warm with plenty of hot water. Husband used disabled facilities and said how nice they were.
The pitch we were on was plenty big enough with a big hedge at the back giving shade on a hot day and some shelter from the rain overnight.
Located only a few minutes walk from park and ride which can be used by site users without a vehicle.
It costs £2 for 2 people, but the centre itself and morrissons supermarket is only a few minutes walk by those more able.
Loved it and would definitely go back.

Nothing to fault on this site, lovely facilities, good WiFi and TV very friendly wardens, what's not to like.
Lucky to be be on a lovely flat fully serviced pitch which catches plenty of sunshine when it shines.
Only thing I can think of to improve it would be a bit more colour with some shrubs and flowers to make it a bit more welcoming.
Walking distance to the beach, pier, amusement park, shops, cinema and Morrisons supermarket.
Also plenty of places to visit in the surrounding area, even a train into Liverpool.

Great location for Southport. Toilet facilities lovely and clean.
Staff very accommodating when we asked to move pitch.
Despite horrendous weather - storm Barra - we still enjoyed our stay and will be returning when we have better weather.

Being hardy motorhomers who use our van all year round, Storm Arwen hit the night before our planned trip to Nth Yorkshire. We checked all routes and arrived safely at the Wharfedale site only to be informed that they had no power, water or phone lines.
We decided to stay anyway but alas, power was still off the following morning so we left. Not wanting to waste the last of our annual leave, we spontaneously rang Southport to see how they were affected by the storm and if they had availability.
The receptionist who took our call was really helpful and sorted out our Wharfedale booking from her technology as neither the wardens at Wharfedale or ourselves could amend our initial booking. She advised us when to arrive but in an accommodating tone like if we were a bit early, due to our previous nights adventures, it would be fine. We were 10 mins early but welcomed onto site and with a short wait for the last of the departures, were able to check in and choose our pitch with ease.
They had had some electric problems but had managed to isolate those pitches with issues and we still had lots of choice. We had used a lot of gas the night before but we're able to exchange our calor light on site which was great.
The wardens were helpful, kindly spoken and visual around the site doing their maintenance and cleaning. We found them extremely approachable. The park behind the site had an event on so was closed from mid afternoon to set up.
The beach is so accessible from the site and appeared to be a lot cleaner than the last time we visited. All amenities on site were clean and tidy. Unlike our last visit, reception did have a stock of basic supplies in to purchase.
My only bug bear which is pretty consistent of all sites is the speeding of vehicles around the site and also cheating of the one way rules where applicable.
As in life though, rules and regulations don't apply to all people. Thanks for the welcome Southport. We will be back.
