Very clean well run site, showers very clean, at £20 per night certainly not the cheapest and you do have to be in the Caravan Club. The only downside to the weekend was the Caravan next door went out everyday leaving their barking dog shut up in the Caravan, so a rule to not leave dogs unattended is needed

Our very first trip to a CC site and boy were we impressed. The site is well laid out with a large choice of pitches all are hardstanding (some have more grass than others so if you have younger children you want to be on pitch near the park as these had more grass around them). The Wardens were very helpful and willing to assist in anyway they could. It is a short walk to town or if you prefer you can hop on the park and ride just opposite the site.
The town centre has all of the usual shops and in the little arcades some more individual and unusual shops. There are plenty of places to eat in Southport and there is something for everyone here from fish and chips to tapas.
The Victoria park is accessed directly from the site and they have quite a few events in the park. The Southport Carnival is well worth going to as we discovered.
We were worried that we might end up flooded in the awning due to the horrendous and prolonged rain, but we needn't have worried as the site is sandy and therefore the water drained away very quickly.
The shower/toilet blocks were clean and well kept, there are plenty of toilets and showers and also cubicles with just sinks in which is great if you have young children.
We liked this site so much that we are returning for a week in October for half term.

An excellent site up to the usual Caravan Club standards. The Wardens were friendly and welcoming. After selecting your pitch, return and you will be issued with a key for the toilet block and a barrier card. Reception can supply the basics & order newspapers. There is a small information room & Public Telephone. Next to the entrance is a large hardstanding area which can pitch the largest of Motorhome's or Caravans. The site has lots of rabbits running about so if your dog likes chasing, be careful. There is a footpath from the site which leads into Victoria Park or through to the nature reserve by the dunes. Its a 10 minute walk to the Park & Ride (Was free when I stated I was from the Caravan Club Site). Although its only a 15 minute walk into town. Close to the site is "Splash World", a multiplex cinema and a ten pin Bowling alley. If the shops of Southport are not enough, we took a train from Southport Station to Liverpool, there is a train every 15 mins, journey takes 40 mins and cost £3.80p for a day return ticket. Enjoyed the museums and shops, recommend the "Museum of the World" for adults and children. A great site and will return.

We stayed at Southport for a week over the Spring Bank holiday and had a fantastic time.  This site is ideal for Motorhomers because everything is so close.  You can walk to the centre of Southport through the park in 10 minutes or the supermarket is just a 5 minute walk away.  If you don't want to walk then the free Park and Ride bus stops just a few minutes walk away and takes you into town via the seafront.  Even better, do as we did and take your bikes.  Southport is very flat with lots of cycle lanes, including the excellent Trans-Pennine Way which takes you along the coast.  If you want to go further afield, Liverpool is only a 45 minute train ride away and only cost around £10 for a day return for a family of 3 including travel on buses and ferries in the city.

Back to the site itself, it meets the usual high standards of cleanliness you can expect from a Caravan Club site.  Pitches are spacious and the staff are very friendly. The only down side is there is no children's playground on site.  There is public playground in the park just behind the site but we did not feel comfortable letting our daughter go there without an adult so she probably had less freedom than she normally would. Also because the path to the park/town runs through the site we were more security conscious than we normally would be on a Caravan Club site.  Having said that, we were not aware of any problems while we were there.

Southport plays host to a number of regular events throughout the year with something to suit everyone including a jazz festival, a major flower show and air displays.  Therefore it is worth checking with the Tourist Information to find out whats on and plan you visit accordingly.

This is my 1st visit to a Caravan Club site and I must admit I was very impressed. The toilet block was very clean as was the rest of the site. We backed on to the park and I cannot believe how much space we had. We have no children but it was a pleasure to be around so many well behaved well mannered youngsters. Southport Town centre 10 minute stroll and there's a Morrison's within 5 minutes walk.
If you fancy a drink there is a pub near the site, turn left out of gates follow road to the end the turn left and then walk 350 mtrs and the pub is on your right.
Good site and we have booked to go back in October

Rned up at Southport late Thursday and found a pitch just past the toilet block on the right side opp toilet block (this is the best side for all day sunshine). The pitch was flat and good although we were right beside the walk path for all people to cut through but had no problems. Short cut across the park to the attractions, toilet and shower block were excellent and they also had a baby room which was great with toilet, bath, shower and changing mat plus hairdryer. Toilets and shower blocks very clean with running hot water, about a 15 minute walk into town but disappointed on Southport bars/restaurants in the Lord Street area just the normal Weatherspoons which allow children in but food not good. They also have though a site with Frankie and Benny and various other chain /cinema and bowling alley which was better and great value. We were fortunate to have fantastic weather as well which made the time there even better. Swing park behind the caravan site as well which was great. Overall excellent site and would return, although the fun fair has closed and site looks derelict it looks like they are in the process of sorting that out later this year and they also have a new pool just about to open which looks great with slides.

Lovely site - bigger than it seems - with the usual high Caravan Club standards of maintenance and cleanliness.

Very good facilities - well kept and cleaned - and very well positioned. The town centre is a short walk away, as is the beach and other sea-front attractions. The dunes nature reserve is across the road from the site. Victoria Park is directly next to the site in the other direction.

Within easy reach are lots of other attractions - we enjoyed a day out in Blackpool along with a trip to the glass museum at St Helens.

Although the weather was unkind to us (it was late October, to be fair!) we enjoyed our stay, and would recommend the site.

This is a Caravan Club site for members only, but it's worth becoming a member to stay here.

Southport's excellent shopping area and pier attractions are only about 15 minutes comfortable strolling from site. If you're feeling really tired, the Park and Ride starts about 300 yards from the site's entrance. You can walk to the dunes and beaches within about 5 minutes.

This is a typical CC site in that everything is superbly maintained. The shower blocks are always immaculate, the laundry is good and effective (£2.00 for a washer) and all facilities are easily accessible (MV dump point, water and CDP).

The pitches themselves are hard-standing and seem level enough. We didn't need levellers, although we noticed a few motor homes were up on them. They're all easy to get into, whatever size of unit.

The wardens were very friendly and helpful. But a word of warning: weekends can be very busy. An advance 'phone call is advisable.

We'll be back.
