 The good :- beautiful location.

The average :- bar food.

The bad :-

The toilets

The showers

The non management of the large group that stayed up being very loud, filling the site with smoke with their poor campfire until they realised it was daylight (4. 30am) then went to bed

The dogs who then barked from the break of day.

The 'play area' that was overgrown & sad.

The bin area that was filthy the whole time we were there.

With a bit of tweaking it could be a lovely site.

Mostly flat, well drained field with a reliable electric supply. Plenty of parking space which was handy as we had to use our car to shelter the tent from the winds. Very dog friendly with a path given to dogs around the site.

Idyllic river running through with a pond and ducks to one side. The pub itself was always warm and welcoming. The food was never a disappointment and the choice of beers. Best or Mild are well kept and served.

The toilet and shower facilities were often found in a clean state but the heating did not work in any of the three rooms.

The wash basin for pots and pans was a particularly unloved facility found in a small wood shed next to a single bin which had overflowed some time before our arrival and was not emptied during our stay.

All in all a good site that with more effort could be the campsite to go to.

The site is 2 fields one for camping and motorhomes, the other for caravans, plenty of room in both you are not squeezed in.

This site could do with some good TLC, it is shabby looking, scruffy old caravans about the place, a gypsy living on the car park all gives a bad impression for a very nice site with lovely views over snowdon

What a great Bank Holiday weekend camping at the Y Giler Arms. The pub and site are ideally situated near to the town of Betws-y-Coed and Snowdonia National Park whilst avoiding the crowds (and the steep prices). Nearby is a local Mace store with friendly owners and a great selection of bits and bobs including a fresh 'Welsh Pantry'.

The owner clearly want's patrons to enjoy their stay and goes out of his way to make this happen. Even on a busy summer weekend there was loads of room on the site with gorgeous views towards Snowdon.

The showers and toilets are more than adequate and whilst the floors can be a tad over wet the boiling hot power shower more than makes up for any deficiencies.

Drinks in the bar are a bargain and the food is good value and tasty.

A great weekend and made even better by the helpful and friendly staff at the Y Giler Arms.

Visited this campsite with a few friends recently, its situated in a lovely area of the country the facilities wer nice and clean with warm showers, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

On our second day the weather wasn't the best but that didn't matter as the pub had a games room which kept us all entertained. The food at the pub was also very good.

I couldn't ask for anything more and would highly recommend this campsite

Just returned from a great weekend camping at Y Giler Arms, The location is idyllic and staff were friendly and helpful. Has all the facilities you need. The toilets were clean and always had toilet roll and showers were always hot.

We spent a fun afternoon and evening in the pub due to bad weather where we made use of the games room.

Staff were friendly and welcoming as well as serving great beer and food.

Recently returned from a wet weekend at Y Giler Arms. My friends and I were warmly welcomed to the site by the owner and all other staff.

As we were in quite a large group, we were given a great little site to ourselves. The views were spectacular, the facilities were decent and the pub served good food and drink at a very affordable price. I was particularly impressed by how quickly our food was served to us, considering there were almost thirty of us and one chef!

We had horrendous weather on the Saturday which was a shame as we had hoped to go in to Betws-y-Coed for a walk around; however, we had plenty to entertain us in the pub with board games, pool table and a jukebox that had the widest selection of music I have ever known.

The toilets and showers were clean and always stocked with toilet roll.

Unfortunately we didn't get chance to explore around by the lake due to the weather but it looked beautiful.

All in all, a very enjoyable weekend was had by myself and all my group. I would definitely recommend this campsite.

Spent a glorious sunny weekend here at the beginning of July on our motorcycle and small tent.

There are few downsides to this site but need a mention anyway, the toilet facilities are a little dated and prone to some flooding but were nonetheless clean and well stocked, showers were free and potwash needs a proper building and not a child's play house.

There were an abundance of midges biting in the mornings but one can hardly blame the site for this, just nature I guess, insect repellent will help and maybe a citronella candle, however the evenings were better.

The site itself is behind a fantastic pub with excellent local beers for which it has a CAMRA award, the pub food was very nice, varied and well priced. The atmosphere in the pub bar and lounge was very friendly and the bar staff pleasant, the Landlord and owner is a super chap who welcomes feedback.

There was a children's play area which seemed well kept.

There were EHU points for caravans and the site had three small paddocks for tents/vans, all were well kept.

The local area has an abundance of activities from karting to potholing and seems very well placed for visiting most places of interest in North Wales.

The damage for one small tent and two adults was £10 per night, quite reasonable indeed however a friend who stayed also was charged the same price for just himself in a small two man tent, perhaps the owner could offer a discount or charge per person, minor point but worthy of consideration.

The site is biker friendly but not rowdy and lends itself to a fun evening in the bar.

Overall a super little site worth a visit, just don't forget the midge spray.

Have just returned and have to say on behalf of all our party, we have had a brilliant time! Facilities are all you need, 2 showers, 4 toilets drinking water tap. Hospitality of the staff and the food and ale all excellent. Only criticism is when you book, check if their are people booked in the pub for B & B, otherwise breakfast is not served and we weren't aware of this (and you have to book for breakfast the night before).

Also we were eaten alive by midges so take a spray. The manager was great and turned the music up in the bar so we could all sing along. We will definitely be back with more campers!

Stayed there last Friday there was a party of 7 of us.

The pub was an excellent place for beer but seemed to be understaffed and waiting times to be served were unacceptable.

Although we did not eat there the food being served looked good and reasonable quality.

The toilet blocks were acceptable but as there were no windows they were quite damp in places.

The real problem was the midges they came out at around 8. 00 pm and everyone had to come if from the beer garden, they continued to invade the campsite I have over 70 separate bites and my friends have similar numbers. There was no place to hide. I would guess that the small lake was a breeding ground.

Not sure of the resolution here but we will not be visiting again and cannot warn people enough about this problem.
