Definitely one for me to go to again. Facilities ok, laundry room needs sorting, and a floor level grey water point would be a blessing.
Otherwise, a nice scenic site, not too big, owner won't cram it with vans or tents, nice scenery on and off property, and absolutely first class real ales from Bathams (Having not been impressed with Midlands beers in the past- nearly 40 years drinking- these 2 basic brews, Mild and Bitter, came as a welcome revelation).
Not bad access though lanes narrow, but short. It was my first trip out with the van, and I consider this a real find. I saw it on here first! Friendly staff. Reasonable rates too.
Didn't want to leave truth be told. Handy for Betws-Y-Coed, Conwy, Caernarfon etc. Roll on when I can get back. !

Lovely pub, nice staff. we had an evening meal and we all enjoyed it, we did not have to wait long and there were 9 of us in total
Our friends had a caravan, we had a tent. on site the only let down was breakfast, not a very nice cooked breakfast, it was a shame as after our meal at night we thought it would of been lovely.
The restaurant could do with updating a bit, also the toilets and shower facilities are not the best, but it's not top price to stay here.
The site is dog friendly and there is a nice pond and outside seating area.
I would stop again.

The toilet block is very basic consisting of 2 shower and 2 separate toilets, with not all the lights working, Cleanish. The shower cord is very sensitive and switch itself on (not practical when trying to get dressed!). The slope of floor of the shower is in the wrong way making the whole floor wet.
The washing facilities 'exist' but there's no water and it looks like it's falling down. We had to bring our dirty dishes home!
The pub is nice though, even though it took ages to get an hot drink !
I wouldn't go back there.

Just returned from 5 nights at this site and had a good time despite a wet start.
Site nice and peaceful with great views and friendly staff and locals in the pub. Lots of room around the pitches with hook ups, we were told to pitch anywhere which meant that later in the week tents were quite close together.
Limited toilets, two single loos with a shower each and then one double loo, can imagine this may cause a problem particularly when busy and when people are using the showers.
However, the showers were nice and hot, although muddy and quite a bit of grass on the floor and rubbish in the drain section on the floor. Often ran out of toilet roll as well!
No electric or hot water in the building used for washing up etc, although I believe there are plans to rectify this soon, and the site does offer a 24 hour laundry service at a cost.
There is however, a handy dog/ boot/bike cleaning area. We didn’t sample the food, although it did smell nice, but we did go to the pub quiz which was good for a laugh.
Nice area, lots to do and see, and places to go with the dog, would like to go back once the work has been done

Located off the A5 this site is split over a number of smallish fields with hook ups for tents and caravans. The site is largely flat although there is a slight slope on the main tent field.
In terms of facilities there are two rooms which each contain a shower, toilet and hand basin and then there is another room in which are two toilet cubicles.
The showers are wet room style rather than shower trays and water does tend to run back towards the toilet area making these rooms a little wet underfoot. I would also think that the facilities may be under pressure on busy weekends such as Bank Holidays. It was a pretty quiet weekend when we visited so not too bad, but add say another 10 units and it would be busy.
There is a separate shed with laundry and washing up facilities and a small play area suited for toddlers and smaller children.
The site is pretty quiet, the A5 is out of sight of the tent field and the road which does run to one side of this is a lightly used B road. The fields are situated across the car park from the pub. The pub grounds feature a pond which is fishable and, whilst not fenced off, is away from the site.
The pub is a traditional style inn with two bar areas, games room and restaurant. It also has a scenic decked seating area overlooking the lake, which the weather prevented us from using. The pub serves hand pulled ales and good basic style food with some good sized portions. Breakfasts can also be booked in the pub for those who don’t want to cook in the morning and were reasonable enough value. The nearest shop is a mile or so away in Pentrefoelas, or it is another few miles down in to Betws y Coed.
I visited as one of a group on a men’s weekend trip and so the pub provided a good evening shelter to us from the rain as well as providing us with food and drink. If visiting as a family for us the pub would be of less importance and I may well choose a site nearer to Betws, or the heart of the Snowdonia area. However the site met our needs for the weekend and I would certainly consider returning for a similar trip.

It's not easy running a country pub these days. The couple who run the Giler Arms work very hard indeed.
They have a lovely little campsite alongside the old inn. The loos/showers have been recently upgraded and are compact but comfortable, well heated with lots of hot water.
The A5 is far enough away to be unobtrusive and the site is beautifully landscaped with a lovely stream and pool. Several small camping fields are well mown and slightly sloping.
Although sensitively extended and modernised, the pub retains a very old fashioned traditional feel, typical of Welsh rural pubs of my youth.
Dogs are welcomed inside too. They serve fantastic traditional beer from Bathams at a very reasonable price. Their food is well-cooked and wholesome, with locally sourced meat.
Everyone was very friendly and hospitable. As I sat outside before turning in, a barn owl flew past me. Magic. Their online booking works a treat.

Plenty of space to each pitch. Spotless Toilet/Shower block. Just 0ff A5, great views of countryside.
Lovely small lake/nature reserve. Small well equipped play area. Had their busiest night of the year for the restaurant and the food was still served quickly.
Welcoming pub with a landlord/site owner who could not have been more helpful, welcoming and hardworking, in fact that goes for all the staff. Could not have had a better weekend.

Lovely pub with great staff, even opened up early for us to watch the England game, very helpful people lovely atmosphere, very local but great a true pub. The food was great, not too long to wait and very worth it. Reasonable prices for food and drink.
Beautiful scenery and a great beer garden/veranda.
To the rear of the pub there is a big pond and a really nice walk around on the nice summer evenings.

A great site, we were lucky with weather but still got stuck in muddy field, but it had been raining lots, but thanks to a friendly local with Landy we got towed out. We ate good food in pub and the beer is great. Lovely surroundings. Toilets and showers good but perhaps could do with better locks, sorry to the chap I walked in on. We would recommend. Our first trip to a site so shouldn't really comment on value but a regular told us he thought it expensive, we didn't though.

Stayed at Y-Giler Arms Campsite for a Christmas/New year break Marc and his wife and kids made us very welcome even the family pets welcomed us !
The site is located near to Betws-y-Coed and has beutiful views accross Snowdonia.
We didn't use the toilets and showers but they were very clean.
We had a great time at the pub although didn't eat a meal there but did enjoy a fabulous buffet at New Years eve party and excellent beer.
All in all great stay as Marc and Heather made us very welcome. The site has it's own lake and river running close by.
I would certainly recommend this site for a quiet get away any time of the year.
