Great spot between river and Severn Valley Railway. We had booked 1 night and were allocated pitches near the children's play area, however we didn't realise some parents would allow their kids to still be in the play area at 11. 30pm.
Pub was noisy into the early hours and the site was packed while we were there. Ceiling had collapsed in mens toilets. Shower facilities smelt bad and weren't clean. Kids enjoyed it but we'll look elsewhere next time.

Set up tent on 29/08/16, stuck up the corner under a tree, mud and brambles behind it. Onsite bins were already overflowing, and by bank holiday Monday the rubbish was piled up and flies everywhere,
Showers were cold, and no loo roll.
Rowdy neighbours over the weekend finished this experience off for us,
Left 2 days early.
Pub seems ok and food looks good, Nice location by the Hampton loade SVR station, and fishing looks good, but wouldn't camp there again was £20 a night with EHU.

Great nights stay. Stayed on Wednesday night. 2 adults and a mad three year old train spotter.
Amazing location by the river and for steam trains from Hampton Loade station and from the campsite. Great pub with great ales good honest pub food at proper prices, good value couldn't finish our chicken and mushroom pie, veg lasagne and children's fish fingers, portions size was great. We had dinner about five so didn't have to wait long. Friendly staff
Quiet campsite as mid week. Next time we will stay two nights.

We have fallen in love with this place. Sandwiched between the Severn Valley steam railway and the River Severn, the spot is just beautiful and it is so nice to see the trains go by. Pitches are on grass, and we paid £17 a night for EHU, 2 adults and a dog. Showers are free and nice and hot. There was a biker meet-up happening when we were there which was ace.
We didn't use the pub this time round but it looks nice enough. An eclectic clientele and unique rocky atmosphere - we will definitely be back. Other reviews are right that there is no fence between the site and the river, so keep your eye on little ones (if you don't already!?!). Short walk to Chelmarsh Reservoir, and the historic Hampton Loade foot ferry is practically on the site.

We have visited this site twice this month and have had a fab time!
First visit there was 13 of us, the main guy, Pete was great and Tyler one of the staff is really helpful.
It was a family fun day so was really busy, but the showers and toilets didn't get absolutely filthy like some people claim and to be honest if people used the bins and facilities correctly, they wouldn't get into a state! It did run out of loo roll however we had our own and mentioned it the bar and it was replaced.
The bar was open late, however they don't hide this and if you want a more peaceful time, then pitch up at the far end of the site.
They are very family orientated, kids are are allowed in pub etc.
Meals are fab! Home cooked meals/bar meals. Fresh, hot and even in a busy period we didn't wait long. The pub is old and could do with a lick of paint it has character everyone is friendly. There are a few locals in there but mainly campers that come here regularly( do good for knowledge of area).
They have a basic playground that is dated however I hardly saw my kids unless called over to eat! So can't be that bad, Also a very small wooded area that the kids go 'exploring' in.
They do have an issue with the showers tripping constantly. Annoying, however the fuse box is in male toilets, check all are on on the far right (8, 9 and another one, I think)
A great time had by all! And no silly rules!
Breakfast is great value too! But order the night before.
Severn valley railway is excellent, great to see the trains go past! And Bridgnorth is s beautiful town, you also have Highley not far up the road with a co op, cost cutter, butchers, chip shop, Chinese and Indian.

Pub itself is an old school village pub. The journey there is down some very thin winding and hilly lanes. At some point you seem to travel back to the 1980 then arrive at this site. The fields flat which is nice. But the amount of rubbish, unkept pitches, old caravans on what seem like perm pitches need cleaning/fixing. £10 deposit for fob to get onto site.
Toilets did exist although it appeared the pub toilets where cleaner. The stink in and around them was awful. Couldn't hold breath long enough to check out showers.
The view is reasonable but there is a water treatment plant opposite and the railway is very close but hidden by various buildings so don't expect to much chance to see the steam trains.
Overall I really cannot recommend this site at all.

This site is such a pretty location, we arrived late afternoon, but spoilt by it being very scruffy, litter and cigarettes ends, ( I am a smoker but was disappointed with the cigarette ends every where I look on the pitch), we filled our water butt at the tap but were unable to drink our coffee and tea as it had a strange taste (bleach like) also all the hedges and grass need cutting, we had went to the site because of the beautiful area and thought we might stay more than one night but left the following morning! Didn't use the on site pub as my husband had a look and said it was as the site was, very scruffy, we used our own shower and toilet, so I can't comment on the shower & toilet facilities.

Been here for a last minute weekend with my wife and child. My boy is obsessed with trains at the moment so was a none brainer to pick a site near to the steam railway.
The site itself is really a pub site with a toilet block. Cant fault the location. Toilet block is ok, not as clean as perhaps could be but perfectly usable.
We didn't use the pub for food or drinks but it certainly does seem popular, albeit it seems most are locals. The music did go on late on the Saturday evening but that didn't bother us, infact if we didn't have our child with us I would have enjoyed popping up to see what I was missing!
The pith itself is very level but not marked out so we had to guess roughly where we should be.
There is a children's play area which is enclosed and kept our son entertained for hours. It is located a safe distance from the river also which was assuring.
Two point/tips =
I would add which may help others is it is a very narrow steep long track to this site with very few passing points - those with large touring caravans may want to bear this in mind.
Also in highley (1. 4 miles away) there is a very good cooperative supermarket with everything you could need and a very reasonably priced butchers for those bbq essentials!
Other than that fantastic and we will def return later in the year.

Went their last weekend our first visit. Had a lovely time. Food at Unicorn Inn was brilliant so much so that we could have ordered one plate between the two of us! We had Sunday roast before we left and oh my god the plates were huge and all for £6. 25.
The tent surroundings were great as our tent is quite large and their was a fishing competition on. Dogs were kept on leads including ours.
The toilets blocks for both men and women were clean and tidy and enough loo rolls for a small army. We took a visit on the Severn valley railway all day Saturday which was great. Yes their was music quite late as the pub shuts when the last person rolls out but that did not bother us at all. We are in our 40's and their was a 21st party on the Friday night and again this did not bother us. We went on the ferry to the other side of the Severn and visited the rail pub after walking the dog. Yes it was nice but we both agreed we preferred the Unicorn pub.
Overall nice clean tidy site lovely surroundings we were made to feel really welcome met some lovely friends and will definitely re visit.
