Stayed here a few times we are camping newbies
We love this place rain or shine
Even after getting our car stuck in the field, lovely owners helped get us out.
It’s a beautiful setting to camp at
The pub is busy right on the canal edge and the food is really good too
Beaton castle in the view

Fantastic site, clean ablutions great welcome from the James and the team at the pub.
We eat at the pub this time fish and chips, very nice indeed. I must mention the quality of the beer one of the best pints I have had for a long time.
The site is right on the canal which I think really adds the the ambiance

The shady oak has recently been taken over by new owners, the staff, food and atmosphere were all very good. The pub was busy with visitors and locals.
The campsite was very wet due to the extreme rain we’d had over the last month but the gravel pitches were fairly level and dry. The toilets and showers were immaculate with plenty of hot water.
Some of the gravel pitches could do with being edged and new gravel laying as the grass is starting to encroach on the pitches but it didn’t detract from our stay.
It’s a great location right next to the canal and great for walks etc.
We definitely will visit again.

Excellent site, staff in the pub especially Sam great hosts!
Will visit again, on the canal with nice walks.
We cycled to Chester 22 mile round trip on cycle path 45 takes in quiet roads and the canal tow path.
This is a great spot maybe a bit pricey £35 a night for Motorhome, two people with EHU but you do get a £10 voucher off food !

A quiet site next to pub with lovely views of beeston castle and next to canal,
The showers and toilets were very clean, and the pitches were well spaced and fairly level,
The pub does good food and has a nice canal side garden, with friendly staff,

Campsite is quiet with generous plots. Facilities are basic, but adequate and clean.
The pub has a fabulous view of Beeston castle.
Being on the canal makes it very picturesque and there are plenty of public footpaths for walks.

I stayed at Shady Oak Campsite at the weekend, I was coming with my camper van while friends were staying in a tent.
The lady who booked us in made sure our pitches were together as there was different pitches for tents and camper vans which was really good,
The toilet and shower facilities were clean and well maintained. The location is fabulous being right on the canal. Lots of nice walks to do also from the site we could see both Peckforton and Beaston castle.
We also visited the Pub on site. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of Covid measures in place. We felt very comfortable and the home made steak pie was to die for.
All in all a very enjoyable time at the shady oiak campsite we will certainly visit again.
Only put 1-10 for child friendly as it is ADULTS ONLY which suited us down to the ground so should have put 10-10 for that but people may think children are ok to go if I did.
