We had a lovely weekend and first time visit to this site. Plenty of space between grass pitches. Right on a fishing lake with mature trees and seating.
Children's play area and a new shower/toilet block - lovely warm shower. Separately owned cafe on site was a bonus, serving delicious food 9-3.
There is also a pub directly opposite that does a lovely Sunday roast !
The only downside we could find was there was a little bit of distant road noise and the hardstanding pitches just appeared to be the car park.

First time using the site. Love the location, close to Stowmarket and within easy reach of Ipswich & Bury St Edmunds.
A really well-maintained site with a lovely view of the lake from wherever you camp.
The recently renovated wash/shower facilities are really good & were regularly cleaned throughout our stay.
Great to have access to the cafe on site and the pub just opposite too.
Very friendly place to stay suitable for all types of visitors.

A warm welcome from the owners. Very helpful and even offered to help us set up.
We had an amazing view of the lake in front.
Toilet facilities are good and clean.
We will definitely come back again.
One bad point I would say is that the Elsan waste disposal point is not in the best of places. It would be better to have this around the back of the shower / toilet blocks.
The pub across the road is nice and the on-site cafe is great. Except you need to book as we couldn’t get breakfasts as fully booked.
Apart from that a great place. Definitely recommend.

This is the best site I have ever been to
I have been Caravanning for a few years I’ve gone to lots of different sites
But this site Fulfilled all my needs we had a fishing light which was just in front of the caravan and we met some people there who made us feel very welcome and we never went off the site the day we got there to the day we went home
Very very friendly staff also there is a cafe on the site plus a pub Opposite site
I can honestly give this a 10 out of 10

The friendly, helpful owner greeted us and we could choose our pitch.
All pitches looked over the fishing lake and we were visited regularly by the resident ducks.
The showers and toilets were clean but the showers could do with a stool or at least a shelf, only two hooks for bags, clothes etc made it difficult to keep things dry. I find it difficult to dress standing up without overbalancing too.
The cafe on site is excellent, very clean and there is a very good choice on the menu, we treated the family to a wonderful breakfast.
The site was well kept with the grass well cut. My husband and son enjoyed the fishing later too.
A word of warning if in a motorhome or caravan, our satnav (coming from Bury St Edmunds) tried to bring us off on Junction 47a on the A14 via Warren Lane, we found it best to come off at junction 49 onto the A1308 and then via Chilton Way.
Starhouse Lane on that route looks a bit narrow but is fine, that section isn't very long and there are passing places if necessary.

Lakeside grass pitches with electric hook up, pretty in the sun but looks like they are doing works at moment.
Toilet block is new with two toilets and showers in each, which are to a nice standard.
There is also a disable toilet room. Although they need to put light sensors in cubicles, as you get left in the dark quite quickly.
The goose poo we found a big problem, there was so much and it got everywhere.
The site is open to the general public as there is a nice cafe on site and people walking there dogs around lake so no real security.
The play park would be a nice bonus but unfortunately needs money spending on it, the ladder to the frame is not safe.
Fishing was £10 a day but we didn’t get a bite, neither did the others we spoke too.
Not great signal and tvs wouldn’t find signal.
We had a nice stop, but wouldn’t return.
Price we also thought was steep for service levels £30 per night

We have just returned home from Lakeside after the Easter break,
We used to go to Lakeside years ago and always had a good stay, it’s even better now than it used to be, with excellent facilities, including a restaurant come cafe, very welcoming staff, very popular place to eat and drink
So in all a very enjoyable stay
Would highly recommend
