Absolutely lovely campsite, lovely little playground for the kids and so close to my husband fishing! Love it here.
The quaint little pub opposite does amazing food and staff go above and beyond, so friendly.
Will definitely stay here again.
The only thing they could improve on is modernising the toilets and showers, the showers weren’t the best!

Excellent scenery, site cafe was really nice.
A pub across the road was very handy, great food.
Limited toilets and showers would be my only thing to comment on, well maintained and clean tho!

Fantastic location,
Lovely on site cafe and pub over the road,
Wouldn’t use the showers as not very clean,
Gentleman owner quite rude when we got stuck in the grass and had to be pulled off!

Lovely location. Very welcoming by the lady who owns the lake and campsite but when it came to the man who patrols the lake, I found him very rude and moody.
My children were told off by the cafe staff for being to loud on the playground. Which is what kids do I thought?
Apart from that the stay was very enjoyable. Fishing was good.
Toilets and shower were as expected for campsite.

Site was as nice as ever. However it seems to be becoming a money money money scheme. Fishing is very strict and not included with the stay. Kids fished for about 1 hour all day yet told to pay for a whole 12 hours.
Cafe re opened but didn't have a lot of choice and no kids options. Bit posh for a fisherman's cafe no tea or coffee included with a 10 pound breakfast! And almost 5 pound for a milkshake!

Bloomin’ love it here! So relaxing, clean and friendly and the cafe has really good food.
The lake is well stocked with fish too! Can’t wait to come back this year

Nice site, apart from problems with toilet/ shower block as below. Fully agree. If taking a dog check before booking that you have an acceptable breed of dog as owners partner seems iffy about some breeds.
Might visit again this year but will do a flying visit before booking to see if toilets and showers have improved!
Good pub over the road and site café ok too.

Stayed here as visiting relatives in Stowmarket. Lovely site, though we were the only visitors so it was nice and peaceful. As said previously the cafe and pub are excellent, and nice walks on and around the site.
The shower and toilet were cleaned, however the actual building needed a good spring clean to get rid of the accumulated dirt of years. At £20 a night it was a bit pricey for what you get in the way of facilities.

A beautifully located rural site but only a few minutes away from Stowmarket.
It has a pub opposite which is very friendly, accommodating and serves excellent food, as does the little cafe on site. There's also a nice little kids play area and trampoline.
Pat -the lady who owns the site is very friendly and helpful. Her partner was the total opposite. His patrolling made for an uncomfortable stay and certainly impacts on the ability to relax.
The fishing lake is pretty and well stocked but pricey in my opinion. £7 a day for 2 rods, regardless if you're resident or not.
I only wanted to fish for a couple of hours each evening but it was still £7 - no flexibility.
The toilet and shower facilities are appalling. 1 male and 1 female shower for up to about 25 pitches. 2 toilets each though!
Toilets/showers were rarely cleaned, I know this due to the resident spider and his web. There was a tiny bit of a bar of soap left to wash hands and toilet rolls often absent causing those who haven't checked before to have an awkward hobble back to their pitch! Owner was happy to hang around the toilet block making sure you'd switched the light off but sadly he couldn't extend to toilet roll or bleach.
It was not all bad, but upgrade the toilets, showers and we'll be back!
