We had a lovely stay last year for a couple of nights.
The people were friendly and the fishing great!
The local pub is really good too - especially for food!
Looking forward to coming back again next week!

We spent a week there from the August bank holiday Monday, , On arrival we were met by Ron who made us very welcome and showed us to our pitch, , We met Pat who I think is his partner or wife, such a charming lady and also very friendly, , We were at the bungalow end of the site away from the children's play area so it was very peaceful, , It was nice that they enforce the dog rule as we keep our one on a 6ft lead & the one time I saw a dog loose Ron was on the case straight away, , I can recommend there on site cafe very highly as the food is cooked while you wait and delicious, , A;so the pub opposite the entrance is excellent for an evening meal, , As for the showers and toilet people have commented on, , yes there is only one but found them clean at all times. I highly recommend this site as it has also some good fishing to be had for the anglers

Excellent small site with fishing lake (carp, tench, roach, bream etc. ). On-site café is also open to the public and is situated at the entrance to the camping area - good food and friendly, helpful staff. It shares a children's play area with the campers and has its own car park and toilets.
The 'Shepherd & Dog' pub is just outside the gates and serves delicious food AND they have a takeaway service for all dishes on their menu!
Onehouse is a five minute drive from Combs Ford where there is a Solar and newsagents.
Several interesting dog-walks from the site, which is dog-friendly.
Touring pitches are level and have excellent views of the lake.
Downside is that there is only one toilet/shower in both the ladies and the gents washrooms and although adequate, could do with a lick of paint and an attack with a duster!
Having said that, the site owners were very friendly and helpful.

On arrival site owners weren't on site so we were unsure of where to go, luckily the friendly cafe staff helped us out. Turned out they had been booked us in for the wrong week but luckily the week we went (the one we had really booked) was quiet and there was more than enough space for us to stay.
The site is easily found and on really beautiful grounds. We took our dog and the site was a nice short walk for her. There is also a public footpath opposite site where you could let your dog off the lead and leads to lots of different fields which is lovely.
There aren't many facilities on site really. The cafe serves nice food that is well priced and the staff are nice and friendly. The toilets are really dirty. I have been in cleaner public toilets if I'm honest. We were there for a week and the same dirt stayed on the floors and walls our entire stay there. Hot water takes a while to get going in the morning but is fine throughout the day. I suggest you take your own had soap as they only provide a bar of soap which is incredibly unhygienic.
Pub across the road serves really good food. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the whole pub has a nice friendly atmosphere. Dogs are welcome even when eating which we liked.
Overall nice grounds, nice cafe and pub, nice walks, dirty toilet facilities

Oh Wow what a wonderful site. It is quiet, well maintained. From our pitch we overlooked the lake, which is teeming with wildlife. We saw a Kingfisher diving super! The owners are helpful and friendly. There is however only one toilet and shower each for men and women, but the block is kept clean. Fishing was not easy but it was raining most days. We caught carp, roach and bream. There are cat fish in the lake.
There is a Café in the park. There is a children's play area and room for children to play. We would go again.

We have visited this site twice now, it is always clean, the owners are always about during the day and the caravans are reasonably spaced apart. There are only one toilet and one shower each for men and women, could do with a spruce up but they are always clean. My husband enjoys the fishing. There is a cafe on site and a pub opposite with excellent food. Care should be taken entering and leaving site over a hump. There are supermarkets and shops five minutes drive from site. Overall a pleasant site.

Just got back from Lakeside after a lovely chilly Easter Weekend, the site is very clean and tidy, good caravan facilities(chemical waste ect) with a beautiful fishing lake and kids play area. Nicely laid out with plenty of electric hookup points and no problems getting in and out, there is a large speed bump upon entry to the site but we had no problem with grounding in or out as some have mentioned on here.
Superb on site cafe, reasonably priced and a lovely pub just opposite the site as well. Only 1 mile from Stowmarket and a nice dog walk just opposite the camp as well.
The only down point for us was the showers and toilet block. There is only 1 shower and loo in mens and womens, both showers with saloon style doors so no privacy, no hot water to wash hands or plates etc. and toilet block also had no heating at all so pretty cold and damp. A shame really as other than that a lovely site and would recommend.

We had a wonderful weekend here and found the owners to be very friendly.
The facilities are basic but functional and the fishing is superb at £5 a day. £16 pn for caravan with electric. The pub across the road does excellent homemade meals.
The site itself has a cafe serving full meals as well as light bites. There is a play area for the children making it popular with families.
If you are towing watch the exit from the site as there is a high risk of grounding the jockey wheel as we did.
I will absolutely be revisiting.

We started looking for a May bank holiday site about four weeks ago, we required two adjacent pitches. After numerous negative responses Lakeside said they could accommodate us.
First impressions upon our arrival were all positive with a view of what we understood to be 25 level grassy pitches around a picturesque lake with all the necessary facilities on the perimeter, behind the pitches.
Looks can however be deceiving.
Our first disappointment was that our pitches were not side by side but end to end, certainly not what was expected.
It soon became apparent that the reason for our distress was that the site was overbooked and therefore overcrowded. On a site containing '25 Pitches' we counted 37 caravans, motorhomes and tents, not to mention the numerous fishermen camped around the lakeside.
Overcrowding does however tend to create other problems. As far as we were aware the site 'facilities' comprised, for males 1xshower, 1 x urinal, 1 x toilet and 2 x hand basins; with the same for females, excluding the urinal, with a 'locked' toilet provided for 'disabled use only'. I doubt if these facilities could cope the inhabitants of 25 pitches let alone 37 plus countless overnight fishermen
As a consequence the pressure exerted on the equipment eventually rendered the male toilet 'out of order'. The disabled toilet was opened up as a compromise but alas no water for hand-wash.
Still on the subject of water the sinks provided for dish washing were cold water only, no hot water taps let alone hot water.
One final grouse, the 'grey' water disposal point was inaccessible to motorhomes as a caravan was parked right alongside.
Its such a shame that the site had these problems because it has some great positives. The lake apart which is first class, just across the road is The Dog and Shepherd with real ale and great food with a cafe on site serving breakfasts and other meals at very reasonable prices.
Finally, and on a favourable note, the site is great for kids with a play area which includes a trampoline, a football area and of course the fishing lake.
Would we return? Yes we probably would if the '25' pitches were clearly defined and if the basic facilities were made fit for purpose.

On arrival we were given a warm welcome and as we had arrived on the Thursday before good Friday we had a choice of pitch, all of the pitches face the lake which is lovely, I think someone said it was two acres,
The lake is well stocked and is good fishing for the pleasure angler to the serious carp man, (a 17 and 21lb carp came out over night)
Plenty of variety with tench bream small carp up to 5 - 6lb with roach and rudd in abundance.
It is approx 1 mile from Stowmarket, which is lovely and has the usual brand supermarkets
As there is not a shop on site you will need to pay a visit.
The site is well looked after and there is a cafe on site called 'lakeside' this serves a variety of hot meals from a full English at a fiver to a lasagne and curry, it is VERY clean and well priced with good friendly service.
We ate there on the last day and it was very nice
There is a small play area for kids with a sunken trampoline, again a well maintained play area
The site itself has about 30 pitches, it is not noisy
Across the road is a pub called the 'Dog and Shepherd again friendly and serves good food.
The wash rooms have only one shower in the male cubicle and one in the female, although the site was busy you never had to queue however they did need a good clean and updating. It's a shame as this is the only downside to what is a nice site with (I think his name was Ron) running around all day keeping an eye on things Ron was very friendly and helpful.
We will be returning before the year is out
