The reception staff at this park were very helpful.

The pitch was big enough for campervan and an awning.

The shop on this site was not open when we were there but there are convenience stores and chip shops near the entrance to the park so this was not to much of a problem. We also had use of the other parks nearby.

Their toilet and shower facilities were nice and clean and well maintained. The surrounding area was lovely for walking and exploring with great railway links to go to other towns. The beach and railway station was short walk away.

I will be visiting this site again as it was nice and peaceful with good facilities, plenty of shops, restaurants, entertainment.

Just returned from a week's holiday at Peppermint Park. Very disappointed with the site. It seems as if Static vans and lodges are far more important than touring vans and tents, which were all pushed way up the hill and crowded together, possibly almost too close in places.

Facilities were clean, showers adequate, but the toilets were far too small. The doors opened right against the toilet seats so anyone over a size 18 would have great difficulty actually getting into the loo!

There is a 10mph speed limit which was not often adhered to - rather dangerous as there were many young children (and some dogs) on the loose. No notice given that the small on site shop was closing for the winter, although we found the shops in Dawlish Warren plentiful, cheap and well stocked. Lovely fresh bakery next door almost, along with a good fish and chip shop.

Dawlish Warren itself was OK, nice beach when the tide was out and pretty clean. If you like amusement arcades and trains, then this is the place for you. Nice walk along the South Coast Path to Dawlish which was quaint but not a lot to it. Don't try the walk at high tide though!

Unfortunately Peppermint Park will NOT be on our 'Must go again' list.

Disappointed in the camping facilities. Booked with friends and 'reserved' 2 pitches next to each other. Checked this again the day before and told 'yes' 2 pitches together - so surprised to arrive and find it casual camping. The slope on the 2 fields is not suitable for camping, apart from the flat pitches around the edges which we weren't allowed to use under any circumstances even though they were several empty and we offered to pay extra.

The kids kept sliding off their air beds at night and we could hardly get the table flat enough to eat from.

We unfortunately had torrential rain on the last night and could not even get our vehicle up the slope to the tent and had to de-camp carrying everything up & down the hill - not much fun with 2 toddlers!

The toilet blocks and washing facilities were absolutely fine and there was plenty of hot water and no queue for the showers. The shop was reasonably priced for an on site shop and had the essentials.

There is no water tap in the camping fields, the nearest is outside the shop but we had to find this for ourselves.

The recycling facilities were very good but the general rubbish skip was overflowing and the seagulls spread the rubbish everywhere - horrible! They started on it about 5am every morning.

We tried the club house on both adjoining parks, they were packed full both nights but OK if you like Bingo and slot machines. We didn't try the swimming pools as they didn't look big and we thought they'd be packed because of the bad weather.

The playground kept the children amused for a bit but it was in need of repair.

The town itself is typically 'british seaside' but on a small scale. The pubs are family friendly and food reasonably priced. There is a lovely pub on the sea front with a mini soft play area and the beach is fine for the kids to run around on. Good size supermarket and lots of little shops for all things seasidy. Several take aways too.

Dawlish Sands itself is great, the park is designed for caravans and tourers. It doesn't seem to have put much effort into it's camping facilities.

I would like to say we had a great time. I have never felt so relaxed and chilled out while on holiday. The pitch was plenty big enough for our 16 man tent the facilities are basic but clean and tidy. The staff were always happy to help when approached.

There are plenty of places to visit close by and the beach is only a short walk away. There are many very nice places to eat in the Daytime/evening and the shops are well stocked with everything you need whilst camping.

We have three teenagers and they really enjoyed the holiday. We had a day out on the train as it was so close and easy to use. We will be returning to the site to have lots more great family holidays.

 Very disappointed with this site!

Probably due to paying £160 for a pitch tent without electric and was expecting heck of a lot more than:-

Huge hill, did pitch on the flattest bit we could but hard to eat off your table when everything slides off and the kids kept sliding off there air beds at night!

Playground with swing bars and no swings, a zip swing but nothing to slide on. We did find a lovely looking playground in the sister site dawlish sands but it was fenced off and securely locked!

Full club house at 7.30pm with no table free in sight (at another sister site goldens sands, there are 3 sites all close together)

All of which is nothing major but not good, nevertheless, for such a big, well known, company, not what I was expecting. But what I found, as did others in tents in the 2 hilly casual camping area's unacceptable was the state of the toilet block. The toilets on the beach were more modern and cleaner!

No hand soap and constantly running out of loo roll. I complained twice on the 2nd and 3rd day and the situation did improve on the 4th day. By then a lot of people where commenting and I think where going to complain too!

But the worse was the overflowing sanitary bins! Also overflowing rubbish bins which the seagulls would scatter all over the place and was left for some time.

Hense I would never use UK Park Holidays ever again, because I believe that they don't deserve the business.

However I would recommend dawlish sands, a beautiful area with nice family pubs serving great food, a Chinese, a few rides by the beach,(go karts and dodgems) a cafe, amusement arcade, and a fantastic, reasonably priced beach shop that sold some fab clothes, body boards, wet suits for £20! gifts, toys, flip flops. And lovely clean toilets with loo roll and soap!

We are 2 adults with 2 young children who were camping for the first time. Our pitch was in the quieter of 2 fields for tents and we had lots of space and beautiful views.

The shower and toilet facilities were clean and the hot water was plentiful. The washing up facilities were also clean and convenient and the small supermarket was reasonably priced.

We enjoyed the facilities that we were entitled to use at the adjoining campsites, particularly the playgrounds and swimming pools.

The beach was not the prettiest in Devon but it was clean and we all enjoyed our afternoons building sandcastles!

A negative for us was that we struggled to find suitable places to eat out with our children in the evenings.

Very disappointed with the park, it seems that the owners are more interested in static vans and the general maintenance of the park was poor. The rubbish bins where smelly, the toilets also could have been better kept.

The pitch sizes are very small it’s like other campers are walking through your awning. If I was asked to describe the park I would say it was Skegness on a Devon beach, On a positive nice walk to beach good for pet’s Will not be going back!

My first camping trip, awful. Not as described on internet. Arrived at 6-15 had to find our own way to the field, no one to meet us. , The shower block was at the bottom of what seemed like Mount Everest. No security whatsoever. No electric sockets in shower block as described on advertisement. Had to make sure you had a shower between 7+7-30am or they started getting really messy. View from camp site was fantastic, as was the surrounding area. Needs a total re-vamp. On site shop was convenient for milk and daily paper. Definitely wont be going again. I suggest you don't.

After reading very mixed reviews I was unsure.

But it seems that the company have spent some money on fixing the problems highlighted to them.

Our caravan was fairly new and spotless. The site is basic, but is small and friendly. We booked through the Sun and feel lucky that we got such a nice caravan. The 'Chalets' looked terrible - prison block style, this would make me hesitant to book through the Sun for this park again. If we have ended up in these I think we would have had a very different holiday!

The club house was a good size and entertainment was ok. Didn't use the pool but the kids all seemed to enjoy it. We walked down to Dawlish Warren through Peppermint Park, the caravans here seemed to a much higher standard (most privately owned I think).

 Good points:

1.Helpful friendly staff.
2.Quiet peaceful location.
3. Clean, very well appointed caravan it really was nice and had a fantastic shower.
4. Site had a cared for appearance.
5. Handy small shop.
6. Only a short walk to Dawlish Warren.

Bad points none really about the site apart from a lack of recyling facilities.

Dawlish Warren wasn't really for us a bit Blackpool and static city but that dosen't mean it was bad it just wasn't our bag, niceish beach though. Nearby kids loved Pennywell Farm great day out, thought Diggerland was very expensive £45 for 2 adults and one 4 year old ( 2 year old was free) to get in plus lots of machines £1 here £1 there. Brixham was very nice enjoyed crabbing at the harbour.
