This is a friendly site in a fabulous location. It is located on the top of Baildon Moor, accessed from the road by a track. We turned up on spec and were delighted to be told by the helpful warden that there was a spot available for our van. The weather had been very wet and the warden helped with positioning the van on the hardstanding so when we left we would be able to drive over the grass (he pointed out we had front wheel drive which was news to me not being much of a mechanic!). The rare birds and peacocks that inhabit the site make it a different camping experience - be warned, they can be noisy at times but they are a pleasure to watch at close quarters. For this reason, any dogs have to be under very close control and children are not able to play football within the site (although there is a grassy area just outside the gate). There is a great little cafe on site which is open for a good value breakfast at the weekends, all deliciously cooked by the site owner, her son and the other half of the warden's team who was our cook and waitress when we were there. The shower block is clean (and is unisex), toilets separate for men and women. One step out of the site and you are on the moor with walks in all directions. We had such a lovely time we went back the next weekend from Staffordshire for just one night. We are going back in the summer with other members of the family coming from Scotland. I'm sure the grandchildren will enjoy the birds and the playground. Can't wait!

Stayed in a tent with our young daughter. Loved the location, great views and we live in Leeds, our tent was next to an electric hookup but we were refused use of it as we were in a tent. Children were stopped from playing with a ball in the play area, rules were overbearing, but with the thought being in the right place, beaurocracy is not needed on a camping site that has a children's play area, not been back since as we like our hook up, even though we also like being in a tent, shame great venue spoilt by rules.

We had a lovely weekend at Dobrudden Caravan Park, we only have lights in the camper so low electric was not a problem, and wouldn't have been anyway as it tells you on the website. The hardstandings are fab, overlooking the moors, beautiful to lie in bed in the early morning and look out. The toilets are lovely, tidy, clean and well looked after. The showers are unisex, which, although not everyones cup of tea were clean and tidy and not really a problem unless you were a nit picker!
The warden was friendly and helpful. The cafe was open Saturday and Sunday and also Monday as it was Bank Holiday. The breakfast was delicious, including Bury Black pud, yummy. We had breakfast every day it was so nice. Just wish we lived nearer. However, we will be back as many times as we can this year as it only takes us an hour and a bit to get there, and once you are there the peace and quiet, the stunning views, the wildlife etc etc etc it is like another world. Read the website before you go and then you do not have to leave a moaning review as you will know what to expect, every thing was tickety boo, we loved it, much nicer than we thought it would be.

My family and I had such a great time camping here. The kids could play happily in the playground in our view from the tent. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful and peaceful setting. Facilities remained nice and clean throughout our weeks stay. The warden and owners were helpful and friendly. We liked the fact the warden keeps his eye out for the campers, when one particularly 'rowdy' group were politely asked to keep the noise down after 9pm, it isnt a festival site after all! Our kids and ourselves slept well. Super value. Highly recommended!

We stayed for 3 nights in a wooden camping pod.
Very upmarket from a tent with real beds! Very comfortable!
Site is situated in a beautiful peaceful spot.
Peacocks and rabbits to watch, my dog sat for hours watching them!
Could do with a little shop for fresh bread and milk etc! But baildon had everything and its not too far away
First visit to Yorkshire, beautiful part of our country. Ilkley
Well worth a visit ilkley moors were fab too- oakworth railway station where railway children was filmed was a brilliant place to see, happy childhood memories
Loved our little break
Would visit again next year :-)

Fantastic camp site set on the moor. View of the Aire Valley that can only be called spectacular. Friendly and attentive staff (but not interfering). Paid £7. 50 for one night in one man tent which seemed fair to me. Facilities clean and hot water available when I wanted it. Be aware you need a £10 deposit for the shower block (this is on their website so no surprises). Peacocks roaming wild which added to the splendour. Not a complaint but would recommend bringing earplugs as the peacocks are very noisy in the morning! Similarly as its on the moor gets a bit windy so bear that in mind (ear plugs again).
Previous comments should not be taken as criticism in any way - just advice. Wish I'd taken advantage of the cafe in the morning as it smelt good. Can't wait to return

I went to this campsite as a group of 20 to celebrate a friends birthday.
The campsite was up a narrow road, which would be difficult with larger vehicles.
The toilet bloke was clean, there are time constraints on the showers.
There was a lot of issues with price; some of the party were charged one price, and others a different. It seemed to change! Also my friend who has prepaid was then asked to pay again.
There is a play area for children.
As a large party we expected to be separate from the majority of campers, there was other land available which would have been more suitable, but instead were being told to keep the noise down from 9pm. Which I would not have minded if the peacocks had not of been making more noise.
The campsite is nice enough but I felt the staff let it down. Told one thing on the phone and then another when arrived. I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone else.

We only stayed for one night at this campsite as a last minute getaway given the hot sunny spell. We phoned up to enquire about the price of the pitches as we have 2 tents and were wondering which to take. The answer was a bit vague - it seems to be judged once pitched, so we played it safe with the smaller tent (were warned the larger one could be £30). The vagueness continued when we arrived - we weren't told that we needed to get a key for the toilets but the wardens were very friendly and helpful. It's a shame it wasn't a little more organised.
The field we camped in was nice, though it is a windy site. We were next to the play area so the kids loved it. There were plenty of other families so we didn't have to worry that our kids would disturb people. Both kids (5 and 2) loved the playground so I would say it is suitable for most ages.
The toilets were clean and well lit. The loo roll wasn't filled up as regularly as it could have been but it didn't actually run out. There were good pot washing facilities, the bowls were provided.
I can't really comment on how much there was to do near by as we mainly stayed on the site, other than a lovely walk to the top of the hill. It was a lovely view and we'd stay here again for a quick, last minute weekend away (it's close enough to home to do this but far enough away to feel like a break)
There isn't a shop on-site and the nearest one is over a mile down the road. You can buy fresh eggs though and there's a cafe that is open in the mornings.
The was some noise from the ducks, etc. From about 4am which might bother some people but we weren't too fussed about it.
We felt it was good value at £10 for the night.

What a lovely site.
Spent a week here when the weather was not the kindest, there had been snow a foot deep 2 days before we got there !
We read their web site which stated low power electric supply, no water heater etc, and were prepared for this. Perhaps others should read the information the owners provide, I am sure they put these details up for a reason !
Showers are unisex, which again we were aware of, not a problem at all.
Toilets clean, as were the showers.
The sound of the peacocks and birds makes you feel you are in the countryside, it is after all a farm.
The owner (Liz) and warden (Alan) could not have been more courteous and helpful during our whole stay, thank you to them. We had an amazing breakfast at the cafe.
The walk to Baildon, although slightly strenuous the first time was across lovely moorland with stunning views. The coffee shop in town is well worth the walk alone.
The only problem we had in our week there was the family of pikeys with 4 small kids and 200 cans of strongbow ! Which they managed to consume in 2 days, a blazing drunken row at 3 am kept us awake, most fortunately they left in the morning, not sure if they were pushed or jumped, if they had not we would most certainly have had a word with Alan.
All in all a lovely site in a lovely location, yes the road is slightly pot holed, can't expect a full motorway access road to a farm up a hill in the middle of nowhere.
We have no hesitation in rating the site as highly as we have done, very comfortable and lovely surroundings.

Maybe we had been warned about the electric, but doubtful, it was a full 200 watts! Nothing runs on this. We were told it was because it was a council owned site and thus no residents on site. The shower block was not one you would use unless desperate. No noise between 11 pm until 7 am unless a very noisy peacock starting at 4 am. Otherwise fair enough. Looked run down due to the storage area and not one to encourage anyone to re-visit. Such a disappointment as the views were spectacular. Glad we were only there one night. Someone needs to buy this and turn it into a fabulous place, it has all the potential and mostly natural potential.
