Nice surroundings, close to River Orwell and Orwell Country Park.
We stayed over the bank holiday which was probably not the best idea as the pitches were far too tight. No 6m rule between units here - we had 2. 5 metres between us and the unit next door and then another unit turned up and pitched 3. 5m in front of us which meant we couldn't get our car out very easily.
Scores of 'unattended' children roaming around kicking footballs everywhere. Mopping the shower after use as well as wiping down the dishwashing area after use didn't seem to apply to a lot of people here.
Small bar which seemed nice with food (looked nice but we didn't eat there as we prefer to cook ourselves). Small shop, pleasant staff.
Only one toilet / shower block - could do with another.
Quite an expensive site if you have children, dogs, cars, visitors as these are all add ons. Luckily we had none of these !
Electric failed both nights we were there and although it was fixed within half hour, it was annoying.
Would probably be a nice site at quieter times of the year

We will definitely be back. Last minute booking for Bank Holiday Weekend. Despite torrential rain on Saturday we have a super weekend.
Location is great - secluded yet within easy access to the suffolk country side, Orwell Walks and coastal towns like Felistowe.
Site is clean, showers and toilets well maintained. Floors a little mucky due to weather. Reception with little shop. Lovely outdoor swimming pool - which we did get to use - albeit icy water! and a bar/lounge.
Nice play equipment to keep children amused whilst we erected tent!

A good all round campsite.
A good playground for the children.
A nice outside pool with good depth.
A nice bar/club house with a good entertainment programme.
We camped with our friends by the pool so unfortunately wasn't allowed to take our small dog. There is some road noise at night but I didn't find this was a problem.
My only complaint would be the shower block. There are only four showers for women and four for men. All three mornings during my stay, I had to queue outside and wait to use them. The second morning I gave up. The showers were either lukewarm or almost cold or very hot. The toilet area could also be kept an eye on much more often for cleanliness. There was always muddy footprints in them which never seem to be cleared up.
All in all we had a very enjoyable stay here.

We originally only intended to stay at this campsite for one night but enjoyed it so much we stayed another night!
The staff were all very friendly and helpful and all of the facilities were great, one of the best campsites I have been to.
We had two tents, so 4 adults and 3 children aged 6 months old, 2 1/2 years old and 8, they all loved it and by 10pm the site was nice and quiet for the kids to sleep!
I would recommend this site to anyone.
Happy campers :)

We visited over the bank holiday weekend and it was rammed so my feedback may seem a little negative, I would anticipate it would be better at less busy times.
My first negative was the pool. We pay extra on a site for a pool but it is ridiculously cold, the kids jumped in and jumped out again and I dipped a toe and retreated.
My other negative feedback was for the one toilet block. Four loos and showers for around a hundred pitches? Not enough. Queues for the loo and showers, then to get in a shower cubicle with one small hook on the door. No shelf or seat. Fixed showers, fixed temperature, and a rather smelly mop and bucket with a sign asking for you to mop up.
On the positive, for dog owners there are some fantastic walks which the site doesn't tell you about. Just outside the site you can walk for miles in the woods down to the river orwell which is a haven for birds.
Its also very clean on site, lots of bins around, and a little shop ideal for essentials. There is also a clubhouse and pool table.
The only other thing which is a down side. Road noise. Look on the satellite images how close it is to the main road. Very noisy when the wind is wrong.

The only rule that seems to be enforced here is drinking wine by the pool, kids kicking leather footballs at vans is ok. As is rounders and other games. Bombing and diving by the pool is rife. Electric goes off at regular intervals because of a fault. Very expensive if you have children, dogs and day visitors. This is one of the most expensive sites I have visited. If only 2 of you its good value. People I talked to were unhappy by all the extra charges for children and dogs. Site is ok. Pool is cold, The thing I liked most is the pub food is home cooked and good value.

What a great site. I had the privilege of an extended stay on this site between July and September 2013.
Very good facilities, (including bar/catering although only on the weekends out of season), friendly staff, and well laid out. I believe it can get busy on some of the more popular weekends, but not something I experienced.
Well positioned for the coast, Ipswich and surrounding countryside.
Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Nice site for the camp, however poor attitude towards customers.
Reception was very frosty - 'what are you?' which apparently means-size of party, type of accommodation and number of vehicles!
Very expensive - pay for more than 2 people, (regardless of size of pitch), more than 1 vehicle (per night), there is a long list of extra charges might be worth asking for these before you book-bar expensive & v. Small shop also expensive.
Bar shuts at 3pm till 7pm.
Pool is cold, rules of pool not monitored.
Shower/Toilet block bad design-walk into a wet room type of shower then through to toilets. This leaves wet room shower facility very dirty - however a mop and bucket is left for you to clean the floor before you shower.
Small play area for kids, ours seemed to enjoy it.
Not a place that we would return to

We happened on this campsite by chance because our usual one was full and what a pleasant surprise we had.
We spent the recent Mayday Bank Holiday here and had a great stay.
The layout is superb, very neat and tidy with plenty of trees shrubs and bushes.
We were placed in Meadow 5, and did not experience any road noise I read from other reviewers, but we were further from the road.
Water tap very close, rubbish bins also near, but not obtrusive.
Pitch size pleniful, and park your car alongside.
Toilet and Shower room also very close and was very clean and worked well, plenty of hot water, even with a very busy campsite.
Good covered washing up area and the Elsan point also 'clean' and local to all fields.
There was a children's play area, but with no children not an area we took much notice of.
The Bar / Club house was excellent, good choice of beers, and excellent food, served till 9:00 each evening. Decorated to a very high standard.
Outside the bar area is a very large, pleasant clean patio area looking across to the outside swimming pool (opens end of May the signs say).
There is a small shop that seemed to stock all the essentials, and good stock of ice cream.
The owner and family were very much in attendance and did their best to satisfy all requirements.
Friday entertainment, Quiz followed by bingo was a good choice for first night with guests still arriving.
Saturday entertainment night was not really our scene, more geared to children, but the Sunday night act was excellent.
Paid extra to extend on the last day meant a very leasurely pack up.
This site is a great place to base yourself for trips to the East coast, Thorpeness, Aldeburg, Felixstowe etc, even Southwold is only 30 miles away, Framlingham also a very quaint village to visit.
To get to this park, you pass through a Country Park, and there are many very scenic routes through the woods down to the banks of the Orwell.
Nearby Sainsburys, Waitrose, Lidl and also eating places, Harvester, KFC, McD etc,
Did have big issue with Electric however as this went off every evening, once it started to get dark and I assume guests started to put their electric fires on. Friday, Saturday and Sunday the power went off in Meadow 5, because I was informed guests were using too much electirc so tripping the main fuse. I would suggest the individual MCB for each caravan is downrated to 10 amps (currently 16) so individual trips fail if guests are inconsiderate and pull too many amps.
Thus inconveniencing the unthoughtful guest rather than everyone on the field.
Probably not an issue during quieter / warmer times.

A brilliant weekend, the staff could not have been more helpful. Facilities are excellent and we are looking forward to going back again. The swimming pool is clean and user friendly although a little cool. The showers are great, hot and powerful. Freshly cooked bread can be ordered the day before for collection in the morning. Delicious
All this and only a short bike ride from McDonalds, Lidl and other shops for supplies.
