Just returned from our 2nd. Time at this beautiful site and had a brilliant time. We were welcomed like old friends by the owners who on our last visit in 2013 could not have been more helpful when my wife became ill. I cannot recommend this extremely well kept site enough. The grounds and hedges are immaculate and the toilet/showers were the cleanest we've ever seen on any of the multitude of campsites we have stayed on in over 30 years of caravanning. One small point that my wife picked up on was the lack of a sink in the laundry room. Small thing agreed, but she thought it important enough to make me mention it. If you want to stay in or near Looe, THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY. PS although I have put zero stars against child friendly, it's because we didn't have any, but children are accepted and there is a small play area on site.

We moved to this site after 1 night at a nearby site which was appalling, only to find that it is one of the best sites we have ever pitched on. Their motto is quality rather than quantity, and they hit the nail on the head. Extremely clean, well kept site. The toilet/shower facilities are the best we have ever been in, and are apparently a few years old as well. A credit to the owners. Kids, dogs welcome. Unpretentious, hard working family run business. If you want a clean, well organised, quiet site which allows you your privacy if you want it, you cannot fault it.

Just come back from a 4 night stay in a tent. The campsite is lovely, the owners are friendly and helpful. Helped us out when our car wouldn't start one morning. The owners recommendations of walks and places to visit were very helpful. The toilets and showers are spotlessly clean and the water in the showers are hot. The washing up area with draining boards is a lovely touch and makes life easier when washing up. My girls aged 8 and 10 loved the site and the children's playarea. The site is very peaceful and quiet and easily accessible to the local area and beaches. We walked to the two nearest beaches, Seaton and Millendreath with no problem. Would definitely recommend this site and would return again.

 Wonderful Caravan/Camping Site !

Myself, my wife and our 3 children visited here for a long weekend at the end of March 2015. We stayed in one of the well equipped and immaculately kept static caravans.

The beautiful grounds are well kept and the facilities are modern and contemporary (not to mention spotlessly clean). The location is perfectly balanced; close enough to the town centre of Looe to be of practical use, but far enough away as to not disturb the peaceful tranquillity of the countryside setting.

Last, but certainly not least; the owners/hosts Dale and Amanda were spectacular. Their professional, friendly and outgoing nature make you feel like long-time friends.

To summarize: simply the best caravan site I've ever visited :-)

Polborder house, Wonderful site, owners very helpful, utes are some of the best you will find, large all service pitches enough for the van/awning, car to be parked in front of the awning, play area for children, small shop which sells all the basics for the van if needed, the only problem is the instruction on how to get there, the lane is very narrow ALL the way up to the site with only a few passing places for cars only, I do not think you would get two caravans to pass which could be a problem if you meet one, the same lane narrows even further past the site if you are visiting the Monkey sanctuary etc. So beware, we were going out very early to avoid the problem, but you get caught-out on the way back, Looe is only about 3mls from the site with ample parking etc I am giving 8* for location only because of the narrow lane

Returned recently from this beautiful site in a lovely, easy to find location. The owners were fantastic and couldn't be more laid back and helpful! The lane leading to the site is very narrow and quite busy, so when faced with camper vans and caravans coming in the opposite direction, a slow approach is vital!

The campsite is small and beautifully kept, with a barrier entry system, for which a code is allocated upon booking.

The small shop is surprisingly useful, and not really overpriced, as some tend to be - ice packs and wifi can also be exchanged / obtained for a fee.

Must mention the lovely Spanish lady, whose name escapes me but who runs a small sandwich van, and she cooks breakfast sandwiches etc. In the mornings and food, including tapas in the early evenings. All are delicious and are locally produced.

The toilet and shower block, as reported by other reviewers, is immaculate and never full - no waiting for showers! A little more light in the ladies wouldn't go amiss though. The washing up and chemical disposal facilities are good too - always spotlessly clean. The laundry room is, I felt, a tad expensive at over £4. 00 for one wash, and as the washer and dryer both only take 20p coins I suspect you would need close to £10 worth of 20ps to complete a wash and dry! I never saw anyone actually use this particular facility, but could be wrong!

There were only a couple of negatives for us as a couple whose children are all grown up. The main one was the VERY close proximity of both the noisy road and tents on either side of us. Throughout our stay, we were flanked by younger families with toddlers. This meant that we were frequently woken in the night by crying, and, as they all seemed to go to bed before 9pm, we were reduced to almost silence in the evenings, and were unable to relax for fear of disturbing anyone - even unzipping our tent compartments had to be done very slowly! We would have stayed out longer in the evenings but again, the car being driven onto the campsite was a bit of a no-no in the circumstances. We are not, by any means, noisy ravers, but this enforced silence did spoil our enjoyment somewhat - sorry!

The other (much smaller) negative was the fact that there were no sockets for charging phones, using hair straighteners etc.

The owners were fantastic and let me charge my phone and tablet in their office, and were happy to do so. However, this wasn't always convenient due to their opening and closing times, plus I never did get to plug in my straighteners so looked like the wild woman of Borneo the whole time I was there! Seriously though, a couple of sockets for those without electric hook-up would be great!

We had a wonderful time exploring the immediate area, and further afield, and left a little piece of our hearts in Cornwall.

Overall, I would recommend this site to families with younger children and toddlers - it is a lovely, clean, quiet place and again, the owners could not be nicer!

Very nice site, well maintained and a good base to explore Cornwall. The site is basically split into two areas, the upper field has five static caravans and numerous tourers, while the lower field appears to have some seasonal pitches, and is mainly occupied by tents, nice little play area with swings, climbing frame and play house.

The site is down a narrow lane with some passing places, the gateway into the site a little tight to say the least you need to swing around wide to get in without hitting the gate posts. Pitches are nice with hedges enclosing them but tight as each hedged area is used as two pitches at a time. You are asked to park your car in front of your outfit which left us hardly any room for sitting outside as the awning took up the space. Probably better when not so busy.

The toilets and showers are clean and modern (not 5 star in my opinion!), but the lighting is quite poor and when you come out of them you are blinded by the brightness after being in the dark! There are no plugs in basins which makes shaving difficult. The showers are narrow and you have to keep all belongings in a bag up on the hook otherwise everything gets wet. We only used twice as luckily we were in a caravan so used our own shower. No baby bathing facilities.

Not far from Looe in a car (2 miles), but too far to walk.

Polperro very quaint and pretty. Visited Fowey walk down and back up not for the faint hearted! But was lovely sat at harbour side and views around are beautiful.

In summary, a lovingly maintained site, but our feeling as has been said in a previous review is it is overpriced for the facilities offered, cost us £35 a night and we had to pay £10 on top for a weeks Wi-Fi as the signal was inaccessible on mobile phone(even though we had full reception)paid for the week even though we only had 5 days left and when checking the traffic situation before we left it had already been turned off - not impressed. We will not be returning. Definitely favour caravan club sites facilities, access and price sorry Polborder!

Just came back from a week away in our folding camper at polborder. Such a lovely site. We had planned for 7 nights but stayed 2 more. The owners really care for this site and everything is immaculate. Toilet block is first class, showers hot and powerful. Only 2. 5 miles to looe which had crab fishing, boat trips to polperro and places to shop and eat. Seaton is at the botton of the road not much there but a pub and a beach but nice enough for a stroll.

The owners have just put in a bigger play area for the children. Its away from the main camping area but still safe. Site is safe for children as it is small and personal. Our son ended up making friends with other children on site including the owners lovely girl which makes for a enjoyable break.

Quiet site and lovely and friendly.

If you want a quiet site with immaculate facility's this is for you. Shop on site is great even has camping gear if you need it.

Just returned from two weeks at this wonderfully site. The weather was not so good but the welcome and the facilities were first class. This is the third time we have visited both in and out of season and have already booked for next year for the family holiday but will visit on our own later in the year. The site is in an ideal place to explore all of Cornwall and is nice and quiet. Trying to find something negative to say but there really is nothing that is not outstanding. A well stocked shop and information. Lovely clean toilet block. The only downside is that we had to come home.

What is there that is not nice here. Nothing. Yes there is nothing that is not nice about this site. On entering the site you get the warmest greeting from genuine friendly people, nothing is a problem for them and they will assist you in any way to help you enjoy your stay here. Toilet and showers are of hotel standard, we think they may have some Cornish pixies hiding in there to freshen every surface as they never look used. Everything is always so clean. The site is well maintained, grass and hedges well trimmed, and with secure entrance to the site you feel safe as you would at home. All together to nice for words. This site is the Mary Poppins of camp sites. Practically perfect in every way. We stayed in 4 sites around Devon and Cornwall this holiday and this is by far the best. Thank you for a lovely stay we will be back soon. X
