We stayed at Glan Y Mor for 5 nights, during our tour through England and Wales. The camp site is situated direct to the seaside.
The shop is OK, but has no equipment for caravaners.
- The toilet and shower blocks for campers are very small, old fashioned and dirty. Only 2 toilets for men.
- The site has got an indoor Swimming pool, but the pool and the changings are very dirty.
- The playground for Kids is in a really bad condition.

Our second time here in 2 years. Again the best thing about the site is the view you get from camping in the top field. The showers and toilets up there are getting to the age where they replacing. We heard that they are doing this for next year and putting them where Dai's Hideaway club is.
The reception and shop staff are both friendly and efficient. Shop prices are what you'd expect to pay. They could really do with more room for the shop as the stock is quite small. Londis on the site next door has a better food selection, but we went to Morrisons in the town while we were there.
We didn't try the food as we were put off it last year and cooked most of our own meals, but the cheeseburgers on next door's site were great and we had a few in the week. My daughter and granddaughter went to the club one night and weren't impressed. As we had the dog with us, we never went near the place as, unlike some other campsites with bars and restaurants, they are not allowed in any building. (See my previous review)
The wardens and cleaners are still as friendly as last year and always stopped for a chat or sorted out any problems that people had. A good site. Right on the beach. Just needs to sort the little things out and it would be a great site. Would like to return but think we'll give it a few years as there's lots of other sites out there.

This is our second time staying at Glan y Môr Leisure Park; the first was about 2 years ago. I can safely say that the park has gone downhill, dramatically. The Views are amazing and the locations is brilliant right next to the beach, most of staff are very helpful and friendly but not always willing or quick to help.
The toilets are very basic but clean, the showers have seen better days and aren’t that great, so on the second day we decided to go swimming pool and use the showers there. The pool was nice and clean, so was the Jacuzzi, however the steam and sauna both grubby and didn’t work very well (the sauna was cold, and the steam room smelt mouldy). The changing rooms were dirty (but a large party had just come out when we went in, but was still dirty after an hour in the pool) The showers are next to the pool, and are clean, but the water is freezing. Not very nice, so back to the grubby ones where at least the water is a little warmer.
The shop is very basic with very little in there and we found ourselves going to the shop on the the park next door. The girl was very helpful, and allowed us to put our freezer blocks in a freezer free of charge. We didn’t see much of the wardens or many other staff.
The Club and Bar both need updating as they look very old and tired. The bar isn’t run very well with a lack of leadership and organisation, leading to tables being left dirty with plates and glasses left out, even after asking twice to have out table cleared I ended up just going to the bar to get the cloth myself as they didn’t even bother to wipe it!. The menu of both is the same and very basic, more like a chip shop than bar food, not very appetising at all, but it is the only menu throughout the site and the only places to eat. All in all if you are looking for a “base camp” only then worth it for the views, anything else and I would look somewhere else, as a trip up in the car for the day would be better than have to stay. Disappointed won’t be back to stay again.

Have just returned from a week away with the family was a little worried about the negative reviews I had read, but on arriving we were greeted by the site warden who told us where we needed to go and offered to help us set up if it were needed.
All in all the site is well maintained with great entertainment for both adults and children, they even have a kids club on during week days from ten till twelve, this is free and the children loved it.
The toilet facilities on the upper field were ok for the size of the site and the showers nice and hot, they are cleaned daily and as and when needed, all together a good clean setup.
Do yourself a favour and give this site a go as we did, we came to the conclusion the negative reviews were from people who would not be happy any where

It was our first time at this site. We were welcomed by a friendly team and were booked it quickly. They told us how to get to the top field. Pick any pitch, they said, great.
The first day was a bit showery, but the following 3 were beautiful. Friendly wardens on site always had time for a chat. The staff in all the facilities were also the same. We ordered fish and chips for dinner the first night. It was boxed fish. (Iceland) And the chips very greasy. Not very nice.
Second night we had a jacket potato and cheeseburger and chips. The wife said the jacket was lovely. The cheeseburger was like cardboard. Onto day 3, we thought we'll have the Sunday roast. Nope, not got the ingredients. Okay we'll have the ploughmans each. Nope, no baguettes or salad. If you want to eat here, think again.
The site was kept spotless by the staff. The toilets were clean and adequate. But watch the showers with the temperature. They fluctuate quickly.
If you have a dog, then forget going into the bar. They don't allow dogs in any building. When I questioned it, the said it was council regulations. When I said other campsites allow it, she wanted a list. I checked the 'net' for 'dog friendly pubs in Aberystwyth' and came up with a lot. I think their excuse was feeble and if they want to make any money from the pet owners, they need to rethink their ideas. Most people camping take their pets. Camping is all about freedom. Shame we can't allow animals the same.

This is our second visit to this site and it was a lot busier.
On arrival check-in was quick and we were met on the top field by a warden. You have to drive up quite a steep hill to the camping field, it is a little windy but the views are fantastic.
The toilets are in a portable cabin, they were clean and there was always hot water, the showers were hot also, although the water temperature did fluctuate, but there was signs to warn you of this.
There is a small children's playground on the camping area and also on the lower touring area, which my girls thought was great.
The site is right on the beach and it has a stream running into it. My daughters spent several hours playing in and out of the stream as were lots and lots of other children.
There is a small shop on site but it wasn't very well stocked, the shop on the site opposite is a lot better.
There is a pub that sells food and has a bowling alley which is £2. 50 a game and a soft play area - £2. 00 per child. It also serves meals though out the day.
Next door to it is the Club, this opens at 7. 30pm and from 8pm - 9pm it is the children's hour. The 2 girls that ran it worked really hard, they did party dances, games and competitions. After that is Bingo - 50p a ticket and after that was a singer or magician or a quiz. You could also have food in there too, the first night we arrived was Tuesday which was Curry night but you could also choose off the main menu and there was also a selection of kids meals. It was very busy and the food was coming out very slowly, but the following night was no where near as bad and the food was coming out quite quickly.
There is a kids club every morning from 10am - 12pm, you don't have to stay with your children if you don't want to. Our girls had a great time and loved the fact that mum and dad weren't there!
The swimming pool on site is free to statics but if you camp you have to pay. It was £3. 50 per adult and £1. 50 for a child, it was nothing special but the girls enjoyed it. You can get a weekly pass which does make it a bit cheaper.
There is plenty to do in the area, the site is on the Wales Coastal Path so one way you can walk to Borth, which is about 3. 5 miles, very up and down but beautiful, the other direction is Aberystwyth, this is about a mile and takes about half an hour.
There is a bus service that takes you into Aberystwyth which runs from May to September, there is one every hour and is £2. 40 for an adult and £1. 60 for a child.
We would visit this site again as it is great for kids and the views are fantastic, on the down side, the shop needs to be better stocked and it does get very windy.

I will try to make this an honest a review as possible! When we arrived we had a wait of around 20 minutes to check in, we were then showed immediately to our pitch and was advised to check our other travellers who were running late in also to reserve their pitches. We were all pitched fairly close together.
You are on top of a very steep hill overlooking the bay - it is very windy!
Our pitch was a reasonable size - however the pitches are very close together and vary in size and some are very sloping.
The toilets and showers were in a portable cabin and to be honest were very poor - the shower temperature fluctuated dangerously from very hot to very cold, there was not enough room to swing a cat in the portable cabin, you had to breathe in to shut the door! My husband informs me the mens were worse with one toilet out of order, one with a broken lock so basically one loo available!
Everything cost you extra swimming was £10 for two adults and two kids, there was no lifeguard so kids were bombing and messing about (dangerously!) the sauna and steam room was occupied by kids leaving the doors open etc.
The ball park was approximately £7 for two kids -however this wasn't policed so some kids had paid and had wristbands others didn't!
There was a little park - was basic but the kids occupied there time well on it.
The shop was ok - overpriced and didn't seem to be well stocked.
The bar/restaurant had what seemed a basic but ok menu - however we went to try the food on the Tuesday to be told after a 20 minute wait to be served that it was curry night - and you could only order curry! Nil else! There was also no kids meals available - we decided to go to the neighbouring sites chip shop which was yummy! Whilst there we chatted to other people who had ordered curry - waited 40 minutes to be told there was no lamb available for in the curry!
The site is right on the beach front - we had bad weather so didn't really go down onto the beach it looked like a shingle beach with a plenty of safe places for kids to play in the water.
There was an on site club but we didn't visit this. Was a small amusement arcade, this was fairly basic with a number of machines out of order.
One thing I will say positively is the wardens patrolled regularly and were very friendly.
I would not return to this site unfortunately. Could be brilliant with a few changes made to the organisation.

Lovely site, will definitely be going again.
Very helpful at reception when we arrived and met on the camping field by a warden who advised us the best place to pitch.
We camped on the top field, the view was absolutely amazing. Kids playground was very close so they were happy.
Toilets and showers are a portacabin but spotless.
Entertainment in the evening was fantastic for the kids and the singer/entertainer on later was also very great.
On a whole the site is great, we will be going back. The pitches are quite close together, will be interesting to see what is like when it is busy.

We stayed here the week before Easter and had a service pitch, due to wording on the website we thought the cost was reasonable until we got there. It just proves how deceiving pictures can be. On arrival we were shown to the pitch and left to settle. However, we did ask reception if there was a pay phone on site as we were unable to get a reception on our mobiles only to be told that she didn't know! We eventually found one that was rusty and out of order, which ties in with our second criticism. Towards the end of the week the site got an awful lot busier and touring caravans were packed on so tight( dangerously so) that we were unable to tow our van off its pitch we had to ask our neighbours to move their car and the warden to physically pull the van off its pitch. I dread to think what would have happened if here was a fire. Also there was no regard to the 11pm quiet time, most nights were were woken by drunken loud people returning back from the club. Small, poorly stocked very expensive shop. There was a swimming pool but there was no one to ask the times that you were allowed to swim or even pay. Site looks generally run down to the point that there were letters missing of the name as you drove in. If you like a quiet get away from it all site then avoid this one at all costs, but if you want loud music, groups of teenagers, bingo & the smell of chipfat then this is the site for you. Needless to say we will not be making a return visit.

Just back from Glan y Mor. This is a good site with plenty of facilities. At 27 pound it is expensive, but this gives free access to the pool, sauna, steam room and gym. The pool is quite good if a little cold. No one really in there most of the time. We pitched on top field which was very busy. It is a windy site but not so windy that you cant pitch. The road up is short and steep, but no need for a 4x4.
The playground is not very good and was closed for the week we were there anyway, but kids missed it. The shower blocks are in a porta cabin. They're not bad but should be a lot better. They were cleaned but not enough, young kids use them as a bit of a hangout, which is odd.
The beach is pebbles but lovely and the kids play in the nearby stream which is nice too. It is a lovely place and only a short drive to Aberystwyth although there is a bus which goes from the site too.
The top field is the best because the view is great, aand don't be put off its worth a bit if wind.
The buildings near the site reception could do with a face lift. When we turned up there were a lot of people using the facilities who were not staying at the site which did put me off a bit, because they use the site and the car park at the beach.
Overall the site is good, not excellent.
Facilities are good, but need some investment.
Views and location are great, beach not so, but still lovely.
Great pool, No slides or anything but good anyway.
Some say too many rules, I say not enough enforcement.
Kids loved it, I would go back, but id like to see more of the money spent on the place.
