Fantastic site, friendly, helpful, clean.
Leisure facilities as in Swimming pool and jacuzzi brilliant.
Shop was closed nearest shop about an hour walk away all uphill. No fun when it's cold, but good exercise !
Cashpoint was out of action while we were there which was a bit if a problem, but they do take cards behind the bar.
It is right on the beach and the view is wonderful, it would be fantastic in the summer.
Fully serviced pitch was useful, but our water pipes froze because it was so cold. Static caravans had the same problem.
Most of the site is static vans, some people also seem to leave their towing caravans there.
Toilet block was very clean and showers were hot.
In general we would recommend it especially if you have a large motorhome. We shall definitely return.

Just returned from 7 nights at Glan Y Mor, after a dodgy start trying to erect the tent in high winds on an elevated field we had a most enjoyable week, fantastic views from the camp site across the sea and surrounding countryside, walking distance from aberystwyth town via the mountain walk which I highly recommend, plenty to keep the kids occupied after a day on the beach or sightseeing, with amusement arcades, bowling alley, indoor pool.
Bar food, evening entertainment, on site shop and friendly helpful wardens to assist with any problems. Great !
Now for the niggly little complaints. Could do with toilet block cleaning a bit more often. Pitch allocation not very well organised as tents not requiring electric camp on the electric hook up pitches so a bit of a free for all and lastly not a complaint more of a warning that the beach is a pebble beach so don't expect white sandy stretches. Overall definitely worth a visit.

Nice clean site. Dave and Tracey are very friendly wardens, very helpful and made us feel very welcome! Toilets were very clean but unfortunately the showers were occasionally cold brrr! Not all facilities open when we came but will definitely return later in the year. Lovely location with excellent walks and fantastic for the kids and a bonus being right on the beach and only round the corner from the main town of Aberystwyth for the supermarkets etc.

As a last minute booking due to the cancellation of our already booked holiday Glan y Mor's website looked and sounded great with Swimming Pool / Bowling Alley / Club House and Amusements all adjacent to the beach so we booked.
The site manager - Phil - who met us on arrival was great and showed us to our pitch which due to the 'fantastic' Aug weather we'd had wasn't great but hey we were on holiday. The toilet and free shower blocks had key entry (£10 refundable deposit) and were ok - clean but tired and you get free hair dyer!
The kid's club is only 1-2 hrs each day with the Entertainment staff Gareth, Adam and Mat (who were all great) and they kept the kids busy for 1 hour in the evenings but all other Leisure Park facilities had to be paid for which all adds up in bad weather . Evening entertainment was fair but could be lots better.
As to the area there's not a great deal to do and for that reason we wouldn't go back because it is expensive for what you get as you're 'paying' for the facilities which aren't cheap. The beach is stony so not your typical sandcastles - you have to go to Borth for that, but it was good for fishing.
All in all - a clean site, but geared to static owners more than tourers of any sort.
As a guide - if you are a tourer, opt for the lower field as top field may have great views, but as mentioned by others, windy - portable loo's and no lighting !
I wouldn't say you get value for money - we paid £25.75 a night but only because we booked on-line and got a discount.

We came across this site by accident whilst touring. I had seen the place name Clarach Bay and curiosity got the better of me. Parked up by the sea at the end road we noticed motorhomes up on the cliff overlooking the sea. It was our wedding anniversary so Mrs Zozzer decided to checkout availability and tariff.
At £27 a night it's very expensive. So expensive we wont be returning, yes you get access to a clubhouse, but not everyone drinks.
One word of warning, it gets VERY windy up on the cliffs. We had to turn our van around to minimise the effect. Sadly the couple in the tent on the next pitch had to go home early as the winds had snapped a couple of poles.
Would we visit again. NO, beautiful views, but not worth £27 a night.

What an absolute fantastic place. Not the first time we have been but we took some friends who had never been before.
Camping on top of that hill, you could not ask for a more spectacular view. Weather was great which helps a lot when camping.
Took 6 kids who played football on the adjacent field with some of the other adults. Everyone friendly.
Kids used indoor swimming pool every day.
Toilets and showers were 2 portacabins but always kept clean and tidy.
Club was packed every night. They serve delicious food at reasonable prices. Great entertainment for the kids in there also.
Well stocked supermarket on site for the essentials.
The kids say:
We had a great time at Glan y mor we have been about 5-6 times it has been great every time, but even better when you bring some friends along with you to share the enjoyment.
Would highly recommend it and will be going again.

Oh dear! How things have changed ay Glan-Y-Mor.This site is now owned by Sunbourne Leisure and unfortunetly no longer has that personal touch of private ownership. We camped on the top field, in our touring van, the weather was horrendous, gale force winds. Many people had to abandon their holidays as tents were just tearing and poles breaking beyond repair. The top field has always been like that, beautiful views but you are taking a chance on whether you take home what you arrived with. The price is expensive at £27 per night with electric, and then you have to pay to go in the pool, which can get expensive when there are a few of you. Toilets on top field and bottom field are very clean and lovely constant FREE hot showers and hairdryer. Good washing up facilities. Some of the staff in the office could do with more people management skills. Phil and Lyndon are extremely helpful and polite best guys there. The staff in the Club are also very nice, as is Adam and Gareth the two compere / children / adult entertainment organisers but as for the recent entertainment, lets say if I had paid to listen to any of it I would have demanded my money back, come on Sunbourne get your act together, because we that have been coming for years may soon start looking for somewhere else. There is nowhere for the children to go when the weather is bad other than the pool and bowling, this last week the pool closed because of a problem with the water and everyone goes to the bowling alley and its not very big so you're very limited and the club isn't open during the day!WHY.

Where do I begin ? Firstly we came across very unhelpful and unfriendly staff who would not know customer service if it was stood right in front of them. Unfortunately due to a few errors, we had booked this campsite by mistake, which we were basically told 'tough' it was our problem. So we headed for Glan yr Mor with a open minds after reading previous reviews, which were not that complimentary, and aiming to make the most of our holiday. When we got there, we were given a map and told to drive to the top field and find our own spot. Found our spot and tried to peg out our tent with amazing difficulty because the whole field is covered in stones and we have no remaining unbent pegs - very frustrating ! Facilties - awful. The loos and showers are portacabins and not very clean ones at that. We were told these were cleaned, which must be once a month as they were gross ! Sanitary bins were over flowing, no soap and paper towels. The men's were just as unclean and unstocked. The showers were gross also. I used them once, but the water drained away so slowly, you were showering in other people's dirt ! Also they were badly designed, so everything got wet. I wouldn't shower my children in there, so we went to the very clean and lovely local leisure centre.

We are very seasoned campers and have visited many, many sites over many years. This one got a great big thumbs up from us. We had three children with us, two ten year olds and a two year old and this site is fantastic if you have kids, with something for everyone. I have read the previous reviews and while I agree with parts of them many are over critical. If you want five star toilets and showers then basically don't go camping. I am rather hard to please in that department and I was quite satisfied. We camped on the top field where the tents are. The site is very large, with the majority being static holiday homes. There is a bottom site for touring caravans but the top site is where you'll be if you have a tent. The site is located right at the sea front so be prepared for wind. You will definitely require a wind break and they can be bought in the local spar shop. The ground is quite stony so a good hammer is essential to keep your tent in one place. There are plenty of electric hook ups available. We paid £135.00 for five people with electric hook up for seven days which I thought was very reasonable. When I arrived I must admit I was horrified with the toilets. They are basically portacabins but to be honest were always clean. There was always soap in the dispenser. The hand towels had run out when we arrived but were quickly replaced. There was only one shower block (in a portacabin) open for women and two for men. There were 3 showers in the portacabin but to be honest I never had to wait and the showers were always hot. Yes they were a bit small but if I wanted a huge shower room I would have booked in at a hotel. The showers did become blocked one day but the next morning were working again. I always prefer to get dressed in the tent to avoid hassling in a shower cubicle and always have my "croc" shoes which I wear in the shower. I saw the toilets being cleaned more than once a day which is a plus. The site itself has a spar shop which is well stocked and yes it is a bit pricey but to be honest this is to be expected. There is also a laundry with two washing machines and two driers. There is a family club but we never visited this due to having a very tired 2 year old and also small rides for children, an amusement arcade, which my daughter and her friend loved and a restaurant/chip shop which served the best tasting fish supper I have ever tasted. There is also a bar area with a small bowling alley and of course the pool which my daughter and her friend used a lot. There is a fee for using the pool but it is not over pricey. There are two playgrounds on the site, one located next to the top field and the beach right next to the site. It is not a very sandy beach but had lots of rocks which left rock pools when the tide when out which the kids loved. There are also camp wardens who stay on the site which I think is absolutely essential. The town of Aberystwith is only 10 minutes drive away and has a Lidl, a Sommerfield and a Morrisons. I much preferred the Morrisons which was bigger and better stocked. At the pier you should try the restaurant which is fantastic and the 5 of us had a two course meal which was only £45.00. Excellent value and the food was delicious. The town also has a museum which is attached to the information centre and well worth a look, and its free. All in all a great site which could do with a bit of upgrading in the toilet department but this shouldn't put you off if you can put up with the weather and the wind! If you can't then you should go abroad. There is still plenty to do even if the weather is bad. NB You should check you have enough gas if you are camping. As this is a site used mainly but statics and touring caravans they do not provide small gas cylinders, only the large ones. The nearest place is Aberystwith.

Luckly we had read the other reviews and were pre-warned about the toilet blocks. Their web site states award winning toilet and shower block, yes for the touring caravans down on the main site. But tents have 2 very old and dirty portable cabins for their toliet blocks! The mens were dirty and stunk of wee the whole time,( the washing up room was joined on to them so I did our washing up at the tent!) The womens were dirty and the showers are very mouldy and small! I got dressed back at out tent as I didn't want to risk touching the walls after a shower! There was always hot water, toilet paper but never any soap in the dispensers!
We did complain and said that the web site says different and they said that they are going to up-date their web site for next year. I bet they don't as it looks like the blocks have been there for some years!
I also complained about the lighting as on the first night there was none and it was pitch black which was dangerous walking back to your tent. I was pleased the following night when all lights were on! The site itself seemed ok, the club house, when open, served good value basket meals, and if you love bingo its perfect, every night! We didn't use the pool as you have to pay extra and it isn't anything special and not very big. We got some rubber rings and went into the sea! (Which is right next to the site) The beach was lovely with plenty of rock pools to keep you amused. Aberystwyth is a couple of miles away and is very nice, that is where we spent most of our time. Being on top of a hill next to the sea it is very exposed and you will need extra pegs and guide ropes. We were very disappointed with this site but decided to make the most of it but was so glad to leave and have a good clean shower at home. The showers and toilet blocks really let the site down.
