What a great site, level, sheltered by the surrounding forest and spread out with a range of pitches. Good facilities as at any CCMH site, but perhaps the best thing is the country park with it's facilities and its location to the miles of beach. Yes the toilet block is a bit dated but still equipped to a standard not reached by many other sites. Cleanliness is first class.

This was our fifth visit to Pembrey and it was better than expected.
OK, the exceptional hot weather made a difference after the long wet winter, but we were pleasantly surprised by the improvements made.
There were updated service points around the site, with smooth concrete and new chemical water disposal points and the main motorhome service point has been upgraded too, with the easier to use open grating for waste water a real boon - no more lifting awkward manhole covers!
I think the hardstandings have had some treatment too, as all the gravel was clean and well graded.
The toilet block is always pristine and although not huge when the site is full, it was fine. Maybe the showers could do with an upgrade but all was OK.
On arrival, the grass pitches were out of bounds after the wet weather but come Friday afternoon they were all open - and a good job too as the site was chock-a-block for the weekend. The wardens must have been run off their legs booking all the new arrivals in on Friday afternoon.
All in all another great break for us.
One recommendation I have is for the Gatehouse Coffee Shop on the approach to Kidwelly Castle. Really friendly atmosphere and delicious lunches.

Friendly wardens. Perfect for access to country park, beach and coast path. Generous sized pitch and immaculate grounds. The only thing that stops this from being a 5 star site is the facilities block, tired and dated, albeit clean.

Fantastic stay at this caravan club site, with great access to the country park. Clean toilet block, never had to wait for shower even at peak times. Wardens very helpful and we were able to choose a pitch which was a generous size.

We enjoyed our 8 night stay at Pembrey. Lovely site - well maintained and very clean, staff helpful we asked for a pitch near facilities ( I'm walking disabled) and that's what we got - the usual caravan club standard - toilet block always very clean - we had no problem waiting for showers - maybe in busy times it could be a problem. Great location next to the country park and a short distance from the fabulous beach. Llanelli is a lovely local town and a for a longer drive we would suggest Mumbles and on to Port Eynon - gorgeous bay and convenient café.

We have just returned from a week at this site having stayed as caravan club members we were disappointed at the way the site was run, most of the club rules were either broken and or not upheld by the wardens, there are not enough toilets or showers for a site of this size and they were not kept as clean as other club sites we have used the area is nice with a great beach and park next door great for dog walking and being in Wales there is so much to see and do in the area or just a short drive away, it was just a shame the site did not match the high pitch cost as other club sites do.

This is a lovely site, in an excellent location. The choices of pitch are wide and varied and access to the country park next door is incredibly easy. The country park offers a multitude of activities for all the family.
If you use Caravan Club Sites for the quality of the facilities, the friendliness and helpfulness of the wardens and general good order, then don't come here. This site is feral. Children run in and out of pitches and scoot/bike around the toilet block from mid-morning until late into the night. There is not much in the way of respect for other peoples property and space from many other campers.
The main toilet block is tired and in need of overhaul. There is a large toilet block consisting of 4 showers and 5 toilets for each sex, while the small one has 2 toilets and showers each. During check-in we were told that the small block could only be used while the main block was being cleaned. It turns out that the small block is being used regardless.
When you go for a shower make sure you keep a close eye on your footwear. Someone tried to steal my crocs on one occasion during my shower (Yes! Seriously!).
I know hardstanding ground is supposed to be exactly that, but bring very strong rock pegs and a sledgehammer with you as you will need it. The ground is impossibly difficult to get pegs into and I ended up bending a good number during pitching.
The reservation of pitches is prevalent. The use of firepits has been spotted on a few occasions. There are tents, more than pup tents, being used to accommodate extra people even though we were told you couldn't do this. The list of things going on here that are having a huge blind eye turned to is massive. Very much a case of one rule for one and one rule for the rest.
I have tried to talk to the site wardens about these issues and their attitude was one of 'what do you want me to do about it?'. That just about sums it up. This isn't a cheap site to come to with a family of four during the summer holidays, yet the Caravan Club seem to be cramming people in and charging as much as they can to stay here.

Very nice site. Situated by the enterance of Pembrey Country Park and there is a walkway into the park, so you are able to use all the fantastic facilities there. Shower facilities are spotless as you would expect and grounds well kept. There is a play park for the children and large pitches. It is a little expensive at peak season but all tge Caravan sites are. There is anotger site in Pembrey Park which is a lot more reasonably priced.

We stopped at Pembrey for 5 nights on a small tour of Wales and had a good time.
As usual the facilities were great, clean toilets and showers, beautifully manicured grass, everything taken care of.
The wardens were friendly and efficient, and it was good to know that there was a toilet annexe for when the main blocks were being cleaned.
We were disappointed that staying at the site did not give access to the adjacent country park, this is a £5 charge to park for the day, a discounted pass for £15 is available for a week.
The beach took us 15/20 minutes to walk to, a very easy walk too.
The weather stopped us fully enjoying the beach and the park - it rained!
There are a lot of children on this site and I do understand why, it's great for them, but care needs to be taken as they obviously have no sense of danger and zip in and out on the roads.
Al in all a very good site.

This was our 2nd visit to Pembrey (with a 2 year gap!) and it was a good as we remembered.
We turned up before noon (which we hate doing) but the wardens were really welcoming and let us pitch up early. We found a lovely large hardstanding pitch down a little cul-de-sac, perfect for us. The site is large but in small sections so never feels big! Facilities are spotless and the central toilet/shower block is accessed by key. There's a very small washing up area (2 sinks only and not a lot of elbow room!). Water, bins and recycling all around the site.
We stayed a Pembrey simply for the biking and we weren't disappointed. First afternoon we biked through the park and onto the number 4 cycle route to Kidwelly. A small, quiet town with castle runis. The cycle route takes you across farmland with dis-used pillboxes and lovely wild flowers. Later that evening we biked into Burry Port for food but came back disappointed. None of the pubs looked particularly welcoming so we ordered an Indian takeaway that was delivered to the site (when he managed to find us!). It was very good and well worth the wait!
The following day we biked along the Millennium Coast Path that runs almost from the site, through Burry Port and onto Llanelli. Some of the views are fantastic and the path/road is mainly flat and smooth. On the way back we stopped off at the Pavilion Café at the cricket club and sat outside in the sunshine having our lunch with lots of other cyclists. Good, fresh sarnies and reasonably priced too.
We biked around the park again that evening. There really is a lot to do at Pembrey and I have no doubts we'll be back again in the next few years.
