Just returned from 2 weeks at this site, very clean, the wardens were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Sellers came around the site selling milk, eggs, fresh juice, bread, cakes etc, I know that you are quite a way from all the big supermarkets but it was a ride out into llanelli and look at all the shops on the complex quite a good variety a good morrisons. I know that there is limited things to do but we went into the country park, onto the beach and toboggan ride, we took my daughter and her 2 grandchildren 2 and 6 they had a great time riding round the site on their bikes they have a speed limit of 5 mph so the children were safe they loved the parks. We did have bad weather the first week but in between showers all the children were out playing. If you want plenty of things on site to do then this site is not for you you, I don't like sites that have clubs etc on but each to there own taste. We would definitely go again, the only down side to it is the launderette only 2 washing machines and the dryer, well forget it, it did not dry the clothes, we gave up and went into Burry Port and used the launderette there. If you have a bike then take it with you my husband and the kids had theirs and so did everyone else. I am not a biker but I think that I would like one to go around the country park much easier, not that it is too far to walk, it is a nice stroll and the beach is massive. Lovely indian restaurant just up the road that does take away, chip shop in Burry Port Barries I think it was called fantastic.

Arriving on the Sunday about 12 o'clock we didn't have a lot of trouble finding a suitable pitch and we chose a hardstanding quite near the entrance barrier. The site itself is well laid out with the country park and forest bordering. The nearest supermarket was about 2 miles away in Kidwelly but merchants do call with milk, bread and on weekends, papers too. The reception also stocks milk, ice cream and sweets. There is only one toilet bock but there are two sections to it. This might not seem a lot but there were very rarely any queues. The facilities are spotlessly clean and warm. The Wardens were very friendly and not in the least bit officious. Having a continental caravan was no problem. There is plenty to do in the Park and there are walks and cycle rides in abundance. This site is a great base to explore Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. We visited St Davids (1 and 1/2hr drive) Oakwood theme park (about 1 hr) Tenby(45 mins) Pembroke (1hr) Carmarthen(20 mins). Laugharne isn't far neither is Pendine, Mumbles and the Gower. On our last night we went looking for a Chip Shop and found Joseph's in Burry Port to be excellent.

Typical CC site but nothing nearby. The park does have a ski slope and bar/cafe, pitch & putt course but I could not find them. Nothing too much to get excited about but peaceful if that is what you want. Large area for tents but too far away from shops / town etc

We stayed at this site for one weekend only and certainly would never return. The location is good and the facilities are o.K. A few basics can be obtained from the site office (milk, sweets, ice cream etc.) The nearest shop is about two miles away (Burry Port).

We have just spent another weekend at Pembrey having stayed here on many occasions. As one would imagine, it was quiet here for the time of year with older clientèle being the majority. The facilities were as always spotless and nice and warm. Even though it was out of season, it was pleasant to see so much open in the area. I recommend The Pavilion Café along the Millennium Coastal Path which does a real hearty breakfast and the Chippy in Bury Port which did the most amazing portion of chips! Enjoy.

Visited for a week at the end of July, great weather for 4 days, not so good for 3. Agree with most other reviews, nice site, lovely location with a stunning huge beach, & the country park with lots to do.
Definite walking & cycling country this. A lovely walk into Burry Port took about 1/2 hr, where there is a small harbour, & a few shops in the town. There are cycle trails & walks through out the forest, & it is easy to get lost! Visited Kidwelly castle just up the road, Aberdulais falls in Neath, which was slightly disapointing I thought, & had a very scenic drive over the Black mountains, with some very pretty views, waterfalls & streams.
Definitely a site for young families, it was peak period & got the impression lots of families come here regularly.
Not a site for peace & quiet at these times, most kids use the site roads as racetracks on their bikes, right up to dark, a couple of mornings we were woken as early as 8 by low flying RAF Hawks, which use the far end of the beach as bomb practice (so I was told), & at times their noise was a bit over intrusive, as they do come round at various times of day.
The park entrance is right behind a few pitches, & during busy periods, the constant stream of traffic in & out, esp the local 'boy racers' at night, can also be heard. Being used to 'quieter' sites, made it more noticeable to us, but I guess others on the site may of been totally unaware ? Only one washblock, but never had to queue.

This is a pleasant place to stay and everything is as you might expect from a CC site. Aircraft noise can be very annoying. Current warden could possibly be a little more outgoing and helpful to campers experiencing problems and less dogmatic about precisely how to line up your caravan to the little white poles. Other than that it has the Pembrey Country Park adjacent which is fantastic for walkers / bikers and children. Enormously long beach is about 20mins. Walk away thro'park and offers much for families with young children. Make sure you know how to get through Llanelly en route! Don't expect good quality restaurants nearby and take warm clothes.

Only spent two nights here. This is a really beautiful site with very beatiful surrounds. The area is very very special and has something to suit all ages and hobbies. The showers and toilets are spotlessly clean. We were warned that the nearby air base could be very noisy but we hardly heard anything at all. On a personal basis we had one downside - possibly we didn't ask enough questions about facilities for disabled?? We did ask about disabled facilities but weren't told disabled pitches were available. In all fairness we were told to pick our own pitch but as we weren't offered such a thing as a disabled pitch during our conversations, we didn't realise they existed. We were a bit disappointed not to have had a full explanation of what was available once we pointed out we were both disabled. Maybe our fault? We will give them the benefit of the doubt but we don't feel we were given any consideration on that point. We would visit again and at least we know now what to ask for.

We have just spent the weekend at Pembrey for the third time this year! It is a very popular site so booking is a must. The facilities are what you expect from a Caravan Club site so no problems can be expected here. The site is situated at the entrance of Pembrey Country Park which will keep the kids entertained for hours. There is also a great café in the Park which serves good value meals. A coastal cycle path is nearby which goes on for miles and miles. During school holidays the site is jumping with kids so if you’re going for peace and quite think again!

All facilities are exactly as you would expect from a Caravan Club site, clean, well looked after, laid out spaciously and pleasant on the eye. A flat site just before the main entrance of Pembrey Country Park, which is barrier controlled. Wardens friendly and willing to help. Childrens area relatively small. Pembrey Country Park itself is wonderful for all alike. Kids will love the 2 adventure playgrounds, horse riding and the beach and of course the dry ski slope etc. Plenty to keep you occupied on a weekend break. For the motorhomers amongst us, there is not alot todo in the immediate area without de-hitching and going for a drive but if you want to explore the country park or want a peaceful and relaxing break Pembrey is the answer.
