This was our first trip to the lovely CC site in the grounds of Pembrey Country Park.
We arrived a bit before the 12noon check in time but it wasn't a problem with the friendly wardens. We were booked in very quickly and efficiently and told to choose our pitch and let them know so we could be allocated keys for the toilet/shower block. We chose a lovely large hardstanding pitch in a small section off the main campsite road.
The central toilet/shower block was very clean, the usual CC standard, with plenty of showers, toilets and privacy cubicles with sinks - although when the site is full there maybe queues at peak times!
There are plenty of water points around the site and bins with recycling also available. There is also a small undercover washing up area. The information hut is full of ideas of things to do in and around the park.
Pembrey Country Park is 520 acres of wonderful woodland and even has 7 miles of sandy beach overlooking the Gower and Rhossilli. We ate in one of the cafes in the park (doggie friendly) one lunchtime - cheap and cheerful food but not a great deal of choice. Best bit was the choice of ice creams!
We walked to Burry Port (small town and harbour with a few pubs and a Co-Op) from the park along the cycle track - all flat with some stunning views. We had a picnic on the beach on the way back to the campsite and had what seemed like the whole beach to ourselves.
A cracking campsite with plenty of outdoor things to do. We will definitely re-visit during our next Wales trip and take our bikes with us next time.

Fab site! Will definitely return!
We were here for a weekend with a 3yr old and 2 spaniel puppies. Plenty to keep us all occupied and time to relax too. The country park is a great place to walk dogs as it has a wooded area plus a large beach. Great for little ones with mini golf, miniature steam train rides, play area, cafe, ice cream etc.
The site is large and very clean. Plenty of roomy pitches, some hardstanding some grass. You choose where you would like to go.
Toilet block is very clean, loads of cubicles and heated!
They have a bathroom for the little ones too.
Small outdoor covered washing up facilities.
Park area for the children to play on, although we didn't use this the children seemed to be having fun on it.
Very friendly wardens. Stop for a chat if you would like to. Found this to be a very friendly site with people stopping to chat etc.

This is a really busy site, despite being before school holidays. Weekend especially busy, lots of children on bikes who have no regard to speed limits. Some of the friendliest wardens we've come across.
A handful of pitches were unusable due to being waterlogged but lots of hard-standings all appeared to be level. One large toilet block with an annexe at the back, never seems to be a queue.
The country park is lovely with 8 miles of sandy beach and at weekend there was kite surfing, kite flying, land yachts etc plus cycle trails, walking trails, dry ski slope and toboggan run and cafe (restaurant was closed for refurbishment). Nothing else outside country park to visit close by, nearest village of Burry Port has Co-op store.
TV reception variable around site depending where you are. We were on grass pitch to start with and got plenty of stations on digital but as pitch became very wet, we moved 20 yards to a hardstanding and could not get any TV at all. Perhaps satellite should be recommended.

Awful pitch, very muddy. The country park is lovely, the site is clean however, we had an awful pitch it was muddy. I don't know if this was due to the fact that it was really busy but this shouldn't happen.
This is not a site for you if you want to relax and enjoy your caravan holiday. The wardens were abrupt and very rude. There are so many rules it is like being in school.
It is great for you if you like rules and want to be watched all the time, but not for you if you want to relax and enjoy.

This has been our favourite place so far and we will definitely be going back next year!
As dog walkers, it is the ideal place, with the woods for those hotter days, a good walk through to get to the beach. With a pond on the way. And many routes to go by to make it interesting. There's also a good viewing platform just outside the site to catch the sunset.
The site itself is well maintained, everyone seemed friendly the whole time we were there! I couldn't fault the cleanliness of the place either.

This site was recommended to us by wardens at Longleat CC site and we weren't disappointed. As with all CC sites, it's well-organised and well run with good toilet facilities and helpful wardens. At £19. 45 it's good value, especially as we have two dogs.
The location is great, proximity to the Pembrey Country Park means everything is to hand - lovely walks, beaches, golf etc. We walked along the coastal path into Burry Port, a nice little harbour town where we had great fish and chips and where it was lovely to see lots of small shops rather than endless charity shops. Very friendly locals too. The only down side was the noise from RAF jets on low-flying manoeuvres.

Have just returned from family trip to this campsite. We know the park well and it is lovely if you're keen on beach/cycling/walking. Great for walking the dog as the gate leads directly to the country park.
Not ideal if you are looking for facilities within walking distance but you can get about by bike along the millennium coastal path, which is lovely and flat and ideal for the children.
There are plenty of other nice places to visit a short drive away.
The campsite itself is very clean and nicely laid out with a small park (although there is a lovely park for the children in Pembrey park itself). The shower facilities are good with plenty of hot water (no timer) and kept very clean.
We had friends to visit during our stay and as one of our friends were travelling in their motorhome but not staying on the site they wanted to bring their van to our pitch so that they had all their food etc with them. The warden allowed them to park up on the empty pitch next to us - I'm sure it's not something they would like to encourage but they were very accommodating. In his words ' you're on holiday, here to have fun, not have life made difficult'. All in all there were enough rules to ensure standards but not enough for them to be the 'fun police'! The wardens were very friendly, campsite was nice for children to cycle around although not everyone sticks to the speed limit and it was a lovely stay, small shop for essentials(and sweets!) bread van and milk van daily. Will definitely be visiting again.

This is the second time we have been to this site over Easter, and we are likely to go again for a third time! There are quite a few repeat visitors and my daughter me met up with a number of friends from last year. Site is very well kept with a mix of large grass and hard standing pitches, almost all of which are in pretty good locations.
The site does get busy when full and there can sometimes be a wait for the showers in peak periods - solution, avoid peak periods, you are on holiday! Overall the site was not particularly noisy and wasn't cramped.
The national park is fantastic, get out on your bike or walk with a dog, or on your own if preferred! Easy cycle into Burry Port for any essential provisions that you have forgotten. This year we discovered the unexpected pleasures of Geocaching, modern form of treasure hunting. Keeps you busy for a day or two in the park. The toboggon ride is worth a go as well.

Stayed on this site for Easter for 6 nights. Site full during our stay. This site is fantastic ! We would struggle to find anything to complain about. Facilities all first class, very tidy site.
As said before it is set adjacent to Pembrey Country park. Perfect location for walking/cycling. You can take your car into the country park for a small fee if you wish and move around the car parks close to the woods or park close to the beach. Plenty of space to let the children or the dogs use some energy or enjoy a picnic.
Nearby Bury Port is a nice place to visit. Small co-op and other local shops available for essential supplies. Nice harbour area and beach.
During our stay we visited The Mumbles, The Gower Peninsula and Tenby all well worth a trip out if you enjoy sight seeing. The beaches around this area would be hard to beat. Would love to visit this site again in the future.

Once again the site is kept to a very high standard. Toilet block spotless a testimony to the hard work of the staff on site. Bill and Julie the assistant wardens went out of their way to help out with a problem with setting up the van. Thanks to them all went well, great couple, will no doubt have their own site soon. Pembrey Country park adjoining the site is a walkers dream. Doggy heaven. You can walk on well laid out paths in the woods all day with the dogs off the lead. Then you get to the beach, miles and miles of golden sand. We walked 2-3 hrs everyday for a week, without taking the same route twice. Towing to and from site is easy, 15 mins from the M4. Will certainly be going back
