Just joined the Caravan and Camping Club again, as a single person with a dog, the club provides a great deal. It cost just £43 for 3 nights in August, hard standing with electric and a dog. Have been to this site a few years ago, but the standard this time was much better. Lovely clean toilet / shower block, only downside was the hot shower temperature. The site was extremely clean and tidy and well managed. Be careful on the road to Mablethorpe when walking, as no footpath on the direct route. Grass well kept, It could do with another water point. Will be booking again for September.

As I write, I'm here on this site, nearing the end of a week's holiday. I could not have wished for a more peaceful retreat from the hurly burly of city living. The site is run by an efficient and fully-engaged team, lead by Sue who is retiring at the end of this season; it's just what you would wish for - clean loos and showers (yes, slightly too warm for summer! - see some earlier comments), neatly cropped grass pitches, NO anti-social behaviour from fellow campers ie noise! Everyone seems considerate of the wants and needs of others!
The site can be a tad windswept, so peg your tent/awning securely; more trees would probably obviate the issue, but Lincs is reknowned for strong winds sweeping across the flat land.
The site is isolated from the town's amenities - there is no hiding this fact - but down Seaholme Rd is a shop on the Mermaid Static Site and further on, a mini-market on the righthand site. Neither more than 10 minutes walk from the site's entrance. If you want a dog-friendly beach, walk down Seaholme Rd with your hound - about a 25 minute leisurely walk.
If you want a more centrally located site near the amenities, amusements etc, perhaps this is one is not for you, but if you want one offering complete rest, relaxation under the wide high skies of Lincolnshire, then this is for you.
PS The wifi is brilliant!
PPS Hope you enjoy your retirement, Sue!

This site is in a quiet location. The route recommended by the C&C Club for larger units actually takes you down Seaholme Road, which is a very busy road, full of tourists, buses and parked cars. Next time, I think we would try the tight turn instead of going down that road.
Check in was friendly and efficient, and we were able to drive onto our grass pitch instead of reversing, which is always a pleasure.
The grass pitch was large, and the grass was lush. However, it was always being mowed, and this started quite early. The hardstanding pitches did not seem very big.
The toilet blocks were well designed, spotless and accessible. They had one 'fatal' flaw. The showers were so hot, we could not stay under them, and they were not adjustable. We spoke to the warden who said it was the default factory setting and they didn't know how to alter it. We cannot be the only people who found this a problem.
The site could do with a few more trees to provide shade and give it some character.
It was easy to drive from the site into the centre of Mablethorpe, where there are plenty of seaside attractions, not to mention a beautiful beach, but we tended to drive down to Sutton on Sea, which has a much quieter, but equally beautiful beach.
Shops are not very close to the site, but as we were out and about in the car anyway, it wasn't an issue.
We would come to this site again, but would like to be able to use the luxurious showers.

First the good points!
Very warm welcome
Shown directly to pitch
Very good, clean toilets and shower block, one of the best I've seen!
Bad points!
Long grass on the tent field - and with the recent wet weather, not at all pleasant. We did see someone with a ride on mower but unfortunately they didn't come anywhere near the tent field! They finally cut the grass in the children's ball area- I saw a little boy who looked like he was kneeling, the grass was so long. I have been on many private campsites with better kept grass than this.
It is nowhere in any way shape or form a mile to the beach. I am a brisk walker and it took me approx 35 minutes. Very misleading.
At 10. 15pm in the evening we were told to keep quite in no uncertain terms by the wardens. We weren't being rowdy, just a group of family and children. We noticed another group also told to keep quiet. Now I wouldn't mind but the signs around the campsite say quiet from 11pm to 7am? Very over the top and not very nice!
Would I stay here again - no! If you like to walk and use public transport it's not a good site at all, we like to leave our motorhome on site. The shop wasn't good at all, luckily if you turn right out of the site there are numerous static sites and there are a few shops. If you turn left you pass a few houses selling home grown tomatoes, beans etc - highly recommend! A bit further on is a newsagent and shop. Keep going straight on this road and you get to the beach!

Arrived and booked in easily was shown to a pitch nice clean site. Why is it when ever I pull up they get the mowers out, after a long journey just wanted a chilled peaceful afternoon.
Asked how far to the beach on foot was told only a mile away. So walked along two streets that went on forever, finally arrived at mablethorpe after 40 minutes, so I would suggest driving to the beach, when I clocked the mileage the next day it was nearly two miles, but I guess they can say 1 mile because it isnt 2. Still not close enough to the coast for me.
The shop consisted of a couple of shelves with tins on and a small fridge with milk and ice creams. No newspapers ! Nearest shop no where near, shame really just wanted to sit and chill and read the papers with my breakfast but had to go out to get it.
Okay site, nothing much happening, toilets and showers nice and clean

This is a well kept clean site with good basic facilities. Unfortunately the whole site is very bare and lacks any personality. The dog walk is very small, about a hundred yards long and 2ft wide. As most caravan people are dog owners they could have made it larger as they had room, dogs are as important as children who had a massive area. There was difficulty finding a dog walk off site although they are allowed on part of the beach you need a car to get there. If you drive down the main road to the front turn left, drive about 500 yards on your right is a car park that goes up on the cliffs costs 60p, easy access to the beach, little cafe which makes lovely coffee. Mablethorpe is a typical seaside town plenty of shops, all types, supermarket etc. Locals were very friendly

The Club site is one of the best if not the best in the area, we searched and enquired at many but came back to this one, it has improved greatly since last years and it was good then. All the campers we met were as friendly as the wardens and we were appreciative of the wardens vigilance in keeping order and making sure rules were abided by without being too strict, most rules are for the benefit of all and so it is on this site. Dog walking is poor on site and not too good down the lane outside but the local beaches make up for that in spades.
Mablethorpe is not the most exciting resort but the beaches are very special, parking very close to the beach only costs £5 for the whole day and everywhere north of centre dogs are allowed and that is a lot of space. Arcades and rides were all enjoyed by our family and the usual fast food and bars are there, Queens Park to the south of centre is great with putting, bowling, train rides, boating and paddling pool our grandchildren loved it. Sutton on Sea just a couple of miles away is mush more genteel with a lovely lunch spot the Stepping Stones Cafe and Waldos have the best fish and chips in the area. Sandilands has lovely beaches as well as the Fat Seagull Bistro which is well worth a visit. For more rides and a bigger resort Skegness is only 16 miles away and takes about 30 mins to get there or Cleethorpes about 25miles north has similar bigger attractions. The coast here is well worth exploring Anderby Creek to the south or Teddlethorpe and Saltfleet to the north with miles of sand and saltmarsh, Donna Nook is a haven for seals towards the end of the year. If you venture south to Skegness do yourself a favour and visit the Red Lion at Mumby, a small village pub with new owners, a great warm welcome and the best food for miles, you won't be disappointed.
In all we love the site and the area your stay there will be what you make of it and there is something for almost everyone.

A very warm welcome as you arrive is what you get from the wardens on this site, it has been refurbished during the winter and the shower/toilet facilities are brilliant although they did have a problem with the drainage whilst we were there and someone came out to look at it. It is a rather open site so the wind can whip across the fields. Members of my family came after we did, but we're fortunate enough to be pitched together. A visit to the Beck in Mablethorpe should be on your list of to do's. The beaches are lovely and clean and there is a lovely water splash park for children just along from the town with swan boat rides amusements and pitch & put. Will definitely go back to this site.

This site is on the edge of town surrounded by open fields. There are only a handful of pitches with any tree/hedge shelter from the wind - which will be an issue if you have a large tent. That said the pitches were level and the grass mown. It didn't rain whilst we were there so I can't comment on the drainage. On our visit three farmer's fields had been planted with oil seed rape and were in full yellow flower glory! It didn't bother us but would be a nightmare if you suffered from hayfever.
We had a nice welcome from the site team. The toilet block looks new and was spotless. Wifi worked well - £2 a day on vouchers you can buy on site.
The town and beach is a 20 min flat walk though initially without a pavement. The sandy beach looked good but the town was very disappointing. We were there over a weekend of decent-ish weather in mid May and nothing seemed to be happening. Eg. Neither the well reviewed chippy or boating lake mentioned in other reviews were open. The town does have a Co-op & Lidl.
In contrast, Skegness and Cleethorpes, both a car drive or bus journey away, were open for business - funfairs, boating lakes, chippy, arcades etc.
I realise that not everyone wants these things but I would find it hard to recommend Mablethorpe to a family looking for 'seaside' holiday, especially in bad weather.

Stayed here twice now, the site is within walking distance of mablethorpe and the beach, and situated in a quiet pleasant area. The wardens are helpful, the toilets and showers are kept clean, and the site is well kept and level. The playground kept the kids entertained for the week, our only gripe is that the shop could be open a little longer during the day.
