Just returned from a very windy weekend away in Mablethorpe.
The campsite was lovely, with everything that you would need. The park was a godsend, my kids loved it. There was plenty of toilets and 4 showers, about 5 or 6 sinks in the washing up room, and a washing machine and tumble dryer. We were a 10 min walk from the beach alternatively a very short drive to Sutton on sea, which we would highly recommend especially if you have little ones as there is a lovely beach with lifeguard, a play pool and a park all to keep them occupied and a lovely little town.
On a downside though, we found the wardens to be a little rude, the showers are a little cramped but I didn't really find that an issue, but the showers stopping every 8 seconds (yes I did count!) was bloody annoying, I understand the need to save water and all but its needs to be set for longer, you'd be trying to wash your hair and it would go off, and you can't find the button cus you have soap in your eyes!
And they close for cleaning everyday at 10:30-12:00 which is just when some people have finished breakfast and want to wash their pots and clean up, they should start it at 12 instead I think. Plus it was a very expensive £25 a night for a tent with no electric hook-up. Other than that it was lovely.

A funny site, in a funny position, in a funny old seaside resort. What wasn't so appealing was the gruff welcome from the site wardens. Finger wagging is never going to create a good atmosphere. Thankfully the couple seemed to take a back role once challenged using club rules.
Mablethorpe is a seaside/retirement resort on the east coast. All the usual shops, takeaways and seasonal opening times.
Outside of Mablethorpe and heading south there are some lovely beaches and car parks where motorhomes gather cheaply and peacefully. :)

I found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We were pitched on a grass field, caravans and tents together, although hardstandings were available in the next field for those who prefer it.
We were directly opposite the children's play area which was ideal for my five year old, who spent most of her time on site there. The playground looks like it was recently installed, as there was a rubbish skip next to it, which was collected whilst we were there, much to my five year olds fascination - the high spot of the holiday for her!
The toilets and showers were very clean, although I found the shower cubicles a little cramped with a child in tow.
The beach/town centre is about twenty minutes away, we walked once, but it's a bit far for little legs, especially after playing on the beach all day.
Mablethorpe has the usual beach shops, cafes, arcades, funfair etc that most seaside towns have. There is also a lovely park, with a paddling pool, boating lake, crazy golf, mini train and a playground (there was a £2.50 charge for this, but no time limit, so compared to the funfair rides this was good value). There is also a Seal Sanctuary at the other end of town but we didn't have time to visit.
A thoroughly enjoyable stay and I hope to visit again.

We visited this site in May this year we have stayed here in the past and always found the site very well keep with friendly wardens this one of our favourite CCC site and its not too large.
The toilet and shower block are cleaned every day with the time displayed but they always have a alternative toilet open for use.
It is on the outskirts of Mablethorpe and town with in walking distance and also the beach.
This site is always kept up to the CCC standards.

Eventhough we have been C&CC members for 3 years this was our first time at an actual site.
We arrived early (9.Ooam) as we wanted to make the bank holiday last a bit longer and the wardens were friendly and we got told off as we were not supposed to arrive before 12.00 'read the site book' - they had only 2 pitches left and let us stay - eventhough we said we would come back if it caused too much problems.
The site is very clean and is only about 10 minutes walk into Mablethorpe. The toilets and washingup/laundry were also clean although the toilet and shower cubicals were a bit on the small side, and when it was busy it was a bit jammed. Someone there definitely likes dried flower arrangements!
Unfortunately our tent didn't like the wind but it didn't put us off, but if you think you may have the same worries then all I can say is they don't have a wind farm in the next field for nothing! Anyway we now have a new sturdier tent and may go back again in the future.

We have just spent 5 nights at this site.
Caravan site:
The good stuff:Nice open site, friendly wardens 20 minutes walk into mablethorpe
The not so good stuff:Toilets:soap ran out, toilet / shower facilities need updating and cleaned more often
Surrounding area:
Good places to go:
Donkey Sanctuary at Huttoft, Woodthorpe Garden Centre; The quieter beaches at Huttoft and Anderby - little gems if you want peace and quiet.
Lots of RAF museums around etc.
Not so good:
Mablethorpe- A town with just amusement arcades and streets full of bargain basement shops
Skegness - very disappointing!
All in all, it is an area where we would not visit again-it wasn't for us!

Enjoyed a four day break with great weather, site very clean with good clean showers and dish washing area.Site well run with helpful staff.Site is in quite area with a field full of windmill electic generators in the near by very tranquil to watch. Dog walk could be bigger. Mablethorpe very much like Blackpool very busy when we went.Easy 20min walk to beach which is beautiful, there are area's which dogs can play.

We had a great time here (our first camp with our new dog) fairly level site with the usual mix of grass, hard standing and non electric pitches.
Well up to the the usual Camping and Caravaning Club standards, helpful friendly staff, clean toilets and showers never had to queue to use either! dishwashing and laundry area. Small children's play area plus an enclosed area for ball games along with a small enclosure for dog walking.
The town of Mablethorpe is around a 20-30 min stroll away where you can find plenty of dog friendly shops, cafes and arcades for your amusment. The beach also has dog friendly areas - although these will take a bit more of a stroll to reach. Plenty of parking around, should you prefer to drive, with costs of upto £4 for the day.

Just got back from a wonderful 4 days at Mablethorpe. The site was lovely, it was our first time trying out our new tent and the weather being hot made the 4 days fantastic.
The site was very friendly and the staff very helpful, on the last day the lady said, 'today is going to be a really sunny day if you want to stay the day at the beach you can leave the site at 5.00pm instead of 12.00pm'.
Toilet block very clean and there was never a queue for the toilets or the showers.
We will be returning for another visit.

Great site at the back of Mablethorpe about a 20 minute pleasant walk to the sea front. Pitches are a mixture of grass and hard standing and all pretty level. There is one block of showers and toilets that were always clean, also housed a small launderette and washing up area. There is a small park on site and a separate fenced area for ball games. I noticed on a previous review that there were no pubs in walking distance - The Mermaid is about a five minute walk from the site at the entrance to a static caravan park and is both dog and child friendly.
Mablethorpe is a small typical seaside town with a few amusements and a funfair. The beach is fantastic and has separate areas that allow dogs on.
If you are towing a large unit you would be better off driving further into Mablethorpe and turn right at the coop and right at the end of that road so you can approach the site entrance straight on.
A great site and would recommend for its friendliness and walking distance to the coast.
