We went for a short, post-Easter break. Wonderful camp-site - very peaceful, very spacious, friendly wardens etc. There is a small, but well-maintained play area for the children, and big, open fields for camping. The toilets and showers look slightly primitive from the outside - being a prefabricated building - but are very well maintained and clean inside. No grumbles about the site itself - and would recommend it 100%. The town and beach are an easy walk away - the beach being wonderful, wide sandy expanses where it is very easy to find a space to oneself, if needed. In between, however, Mablethorpe itself seems to have nothing to recommend it. We won't be returning - through no fault of the site - and will look elsewhere for future holidays!

We had a two night break at this site. Although the site was very muddy when we pitched, it was very spacious and had plenty of room and could pitch wherever we wanted. The toilet blocks etc were kept to a high standard and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Mablethorpe its self was not enough to stay for a week (for us) but there is enough there for a weekend.

Campsite was very nice and was only 1 mile walk to Mablethorpe. Attendants were very nice and pleasant. Showers are free and toilets are kept very clean there is a mop and bucket to use after you have had a shower which I think is good so it is clean for the next person to use. They were shut at 11.30 am for them to be cleaned but you could you the disabled toilet if needed during that time. Washing up area also kept very clean also laundry facilities available to which was a reasonable price too. There is a little play area for the kids which is in the centre of the campsite. A field also by the side for people to exercise there dogs or play football and so on.

A nice site although very muddy when we were there. Very crammed in -I would have preferred more space between pitches. toilets were clean though more showers would have been good. Children enjoyed the play area. We were disappointed in Mablethorpe but had a lovely day in Cleethorpes and also visited a windmill. Certainly enough things to fill a short break. We would visit again for a long weekend - and would hopefully get weather good enough for the beach next time.

August 2005 Just spent 3 nights at mablethorpe - planned for 4 but came home early. Largely due to poor and unseasonal weather - cold, windy + intermittant heavy rain - we should have guessed what we were in for when the warden told us on arrival that good weather is exempt from mablethorpe! The site is fine - rather cramed in + it could do with another toilet block - it is a hike in the middle of the night from the touring pitch. Some of the pitches are very tight on space and a couple almost on top of the childrens play area - but people seemed to be able move pitches easily as new spaces became available. Very popular site with caravans.

June 2005 I usually visit this site twice a year, if not more, it is one of my favourites.
There are 2 fields, the 1st one mainly non-ehu. Here you will find a log playground containing 2 swings and a small climbing frame with slide, all set on a bark surface. As mentioned in an earlier review, there are ridges all across this field. All the numbered pitches are arranged along the top of the ridges with the usual 6 metres between units.
The adjacent field is flat and seemed to be all electric pitches with a circular access road providing pitches around and inside this road.
The amenity block is convenient for both fields. I can only comment on the ladies here, but there are ample toilets and washbasins, 4 showers and a wash basin in an individual cubicle. In between the ladies and the gents there is a well equipped utility room for pot washing and laundry. There is also a parent and baby room here, but you need to obtain a key for this. All these facilities have plenty of hot water and are very clean. The downside to this is that the block is closed for cleaning for 1 1/2 hours each day.
The holiday site managers are friendly and welcoming. The office is open twice a day for basic provisions, and newspapers can be ordered.
The site is about a mile inland on the western edge of Mablethorpe with open views of the countryside on 3 sides. I find the best way of getting around is on a cycle on the flat lanes and for miles along the promenade on a designated cycle path.

June 2005 Decided to visit this site as the weather forecast was good, and fancied going to the coast rather than staying inland. Very impressed. The site was quiet, spacious and clean. The wardens were very friendly. They were OK about us staying later than 12 on the day we were leaving. The site is about a mile from the sea-front. Will definitely be returning.

March 2005 We visited this site at easter break, all in all it looks a pleasant site, basic but pleasant, however I must admit it's not the best camping and caravanning club site that we've been to.
The toilets are always clean and the people who run it are very polite and happy to help, I do have a couple of niggles, unfortunately the electrics kept tripping due to the large amount of people on the site, so each night the electrics would go off 2 to 4 times for 5-10 mins at a time, also there was no play area as they had put tents and caravans on this area so there was nowhere for the children to play, except if you were toddler age, there was a small play area with a slide but nowhere for the older children.
We seemed to have alot of rain this weekend as the grass was waterlogged, even though we didn't see much of it.
Therefore I must admit we most likely wouldn't return to this site as it was a bit of a dissapointment.

May 28 2004 At first sight I was aghast by the undulating hills on which we were to pitch to our tent, however, it became apparent that this was for drainage purposes & our enormous family tent pitched well on the flat top! The site is small & the staff friendly & helpful (on departure day they agreed that we could leave our packed up trailer there for the day while we made the most of the good weather). The pitches are well spaced & the childrens play area in the middle, within sight. There was no passing traffic so the site is lovely & quiet at night. The shower/toilet block was kept in immaculate condition, but here lies my two niggles - there was no plug socket for my hairdryer or straighteners (a weak, coin operated hair dryer is provided) and yet again we have the push button showers on a 15 second timer! I fail to see how anyone can shower in this time, or how much waste there would be if the timer was set for 2 minutes! Anyway, these gripes aside, I would recommend the site to anyone who hates the hustle & bustle of commercial sites. We will definitely be going there again.

May 2004 We went for the May Day Bank Holiday weekend. It was a great basic site. The toilet and shower facilities were always clean. They did have laundry and washing up facilities which always looked clean but we didn't use them. There was a small play area for the kids, ours loved it. The reception area did stock a few groceries and I believe they had newspapers as well. Also you could hire ice blocks for 40p a day.
The only downside was the grass area did get very soft with the rain and was uneven, and we noticed people with caravans and trailers (including us) had trouble getting off the site. Other than that nothing to complain about.
