We went to this site on a bit of a whim as we thought it was time to try camping with our two young kids (3 & 1). We used to camp pre kids but tended to go for 'wildish' campsites, so weren't really sure what to expect.

It was absolutely brilliant, lovely flat mown fields, clean warm loos and showers, and a great little playground.

Most of all we were grateful to the fantastically friendly fellow campers who gave us some good tips and were totally lovely about the noise our little one made at bedtime on the first night!

I loved the location, the kids were fascinated by the wind turbines and the combine harvesters in the fields. I loved the views in the morning, watching the sun come up over the meadow and trees.

A perfect first family camping experience, close to the beach and Queens park which was great for the kids, its given us the confidence to carry on camping, loved it.

Just visited this site for easter, what a great site, toilet block is clean and alright, plenty of room on each pitch and a fresh smooth tarmac road, we were shown to our pitch and told a lot of useful information by on site friendly staff. Plenty of dog walks off site. There is no night lights on site which makes this site awesome at night looking at all the stars.

Spent the nice long August bank holiday weekend here, and it was nice to get away.

The site is across 3 fields, the first one on arrival has a small play area in the middle of it. If you follow the gravel road you will enter the second field with the toilet block on the right hand side.

This field seems to have all the electric hook ups, and the road way does a complete circuit of the centre part of the field.

In the top left hand corner there is access to the third field which is basically just that, a big open field. Down one side there is the dog walk next to a fenced off area for ball games.

The site was tidy, although I think the top field could have done with the grass cutting in some areas, OK I know that really is nit picking!

The other two fields were immaculate though.

The facilities block is very worn down but is kept clean, and the showers are free and have hot water.

They are on push buttons which only last for about 10secs between pushes.

The site wardens are doing there best with the old facilities and the club is trying to improve the site. They are hoping to have a new road, new and more electric hook ups, new toilet block and more hard standings.

Shame the local council are being so awkward.

Hopefully the club will remember it's The Camping and Caravanning Club, although as I go to more club sites I'm beginning to wonder if it's just an off shoot of the Caravan Club with all the hard standings that are appearing :-(

This site is ideal for families as it's only a 15min walk to the beach, beware you will have to walk on the road for a short distance though.

The walk is just a straight road and when near you will pass a steak house which is next to the Clock Chippie.

Walk past these a few yards up the ramp and onto the beach.

A bag of chips walking along the sea front, very nice indeed!

If you turn right you can walk all the way down to Sutton on Sea, dogs are allowed on the beach.

Turn left(dogs not allowed on the beach) and follow the promenade to the centre of Mablethorpe and the amusements.

If you want a very quiet site then this really isn't ideal as there are lots of families with children playing at the swings and at one point decided to have a screaming competition, luckily it didn't last too long :-)

If you have a chance, try and go for a Sunday lunch at the Coxswains Hotel on Admiralty Road, just off the high street.

Excellent food great choice at a very good price!

For a typical beach holiday this site is perfect. Once the improvements have been done I can see it being open all year round and very difficult to get into as it will always be booked!

First time camping with grandkids and dog. Excellent small friendly site. Staff really kind and helpful. All the facilities I needed and kept in really pristine condition. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt we were made very welcome. Although some of the facilities could do with updating they were well kept and very clean. This was my first of what I hope will be many camping trips and will definitely return to this site and recommend it to others

I agree with the previous reviews. A clean well maintained site, the grass pitches were being mowed as they became vacant whilst we were there, a nice and quiet site, and being not too large everything, toilets, water, waste bins etc. , are close by and easily accessed, the toilets are disabled person friendly.

My only criticism is there does not, surprisingly, appear to be any facilities for recycling waste.

We would happily recommend this site to others.

We spent a most enjoyable two nights at this site and would have stayed longer if we`d had the time. The wardens were very friendly and welcoming and the site and facilities clean and well looked after. A pleasant twenty minute walk took us into Mablethorpe with plenty of shops and places to eat and a nice clean beach. We had in fact no need to move our camper at all for the two days we were there. This is definitely a site which is on my list for a return visit sometime in the near future.

Open, level site within walking distance of Mablethorpe town and seafront. Site is divided into two fields and has an old-fashioned feel about it - that's not a criticism. Managers were friendly and helpful and let us choose where to pitch. Facilities block is quite dated but clean and properly maintained. Heard on site that they want to build a new one but the local council are being difficult. I never did work out if the Motorhome service point had a waste dump point but wasn't sufficiently in need to find out.

Mablethorpe itself has shops, pubs and lots of chippies and is a nice seaside town (quite unlike the awful Skegness just down the coast). Large parts of the very long beach are dog friendly too.

There is a wind farm near the back of the site but we heard no noise from the turbines, in fact the site is very peaceful despite being close to town.

Another site I'd gladly return to.

Stayed here with our friends last week of May. We found the staff to be very helpful on arrival, and the pitches to be very tidy and a good size. Being only about a mile from the centre of mablethorpe made it an ideal base allowing us to leave the car on site and walk into town. The children loved the play area and it could be seen from most pitches. Toilet blocks were really clean. A really nice laid out site to relax and unwind, very quiet.

Nice friendly site ideally situated just a short(ish) walk from the beach and the town centre.

We found the site clean and tidy and received a warm welcome on arrival. As it was our first time visiting Mablethorpe we were told about the places to visit and also recommendations where to take our elderly guest who was in a wheelchair and was looking forward to some nice fish and chips!

All facilities were clean and well maintained.

We would definitely stay here again.

To say that this is a club site, it isn’t really much more that a glorified field having grass pitches around the perimeter and hard standing pitches in the middle. Facilities (showers, toilets, washing up & laundry) are located to one corner of the site in a prefab building which has obviously seen better days - my wife commented that several toilet cubicles in the ladies where showing signs of damp, etc. The shower cubicles are small and claustrophobic with signs of mould in the corners but on the plus side, hot water appears to be plentiful even though you can’t control the flow or the temperature. Lighting around the site is minimal (in fact non-existent might be a better word) so taking the dogs for their night time walk wasn’t easy when you combined it with the fog that we had whilst we were there (can’t blame the site for that though). Other facilities include a children’s play area and an area fenced off for ball games as well as a fenced dog walk. Note for motorhomers - there is no drive over waste dump. On the positive side, the warden was friendly and helpful, trying to find us a different pitch to the one allocated so we could put up our drive away awning but sadly, there wasn’t one available so ended up leaving the awning down.

Mablethorpe itself is about a 15min walk away from site, being situated on the edge of the town. The town itself is a typical, but small seaside town, however being October, lots of things had closed for the season but yet there are still plenty of amusement arcades open to keep you amused. Donkey rides were available on the beach but didn’t seem to be doing a roaring trade and there is also a sand train in the summer months. The seal rescue sanctuary at the north end of the town is definitely worth a visit, not just to see the seals but also to see the other animals.

All in all, I don’t think we’ll be returning in a hurry unless the CCC refub the site, although Mablethorpe itself is worth stopping at for an hour or two.
