What a lovely site. But no pubs nearby. One local garage with a few items, no other shops.
Wardens are helpful, the facilities are very good. The site is spacious, there is a lovely dog/nature walk that is near a stream/river that can be fast flowing depending on the rain fall. There is also a wild foul nature reserve in walking distance and a footpath link to a much longer walk, look it up on your map. Yes I would visit again. Alnwick castle and gardens are enjoyable, out of the two I would go for Banborough Castle, it is intriguing, you have a vast beach to visit too.

Just back from a fabulous 4 nights away at this camp.
We pitched on the well kept grass so our old Labrador was close to the camps own dog walk. And he enjoyed his swims in the water.
Very clean site, wardens polite and very helpful. Not interested in TV signal. I leave that at home.
There is a petrol station that myself and younger dog would walk to if the camps own shop did not stock.
Take a walk out the park to the right and head for a lovely walk round the water. And the different birds and wildlife that can be seen ( and also from the camps own hide on its water) made it a very relaxing break. We will definitely visit again
The toilet/ shower block very well kept

Location
This is a nice quiet site a few miles in the Cheviots. A brilliant place to get away from it all. Excellent walking nearby.
Facilities
Excellent facilities and large pitches.
Great site!

We had a week here and would certainly go back.
The wardens were very friendly and helpful and the site itself is in a lovely setting. There is lovely dog walk accessed from one side of the site with a whole variety of routes through woods and by the river. The site is nicely laid out with different areas and though the site was full it didn't feel crowded.
The facilities were very good; clean and well maintained.
The only downside was the location in that the nearest shop was at a garage about half a mile away and, with the village pub being closed, the nearest place to eat and for a drink was the Tankerville Arms, four miles away in Eglingham. However, it's well worth a visit. Food is very good in a traditional village pub.
Wooler is 8 miles away and Alnwick is a similar sort of distance the other way.
The coast is a bit of a drive but well worth a trip. Miles of lovely, uncrowded beaches.
Would certainly go back

This is an absolute gem of a site in a stunning location. The wardens are friendly and helpful and the facilities are spotless and well maintained. In the area are loads of things to do - Alnwick castle, Cragside, Holy Island etc. None of these are a particularly long drive from the site. An absolute must is to walk or cycle up the River Breamish towards the little hamlets that lie a few miles west of the site. This takes you along a lovely and very tranquil valley. It is fairly flat all the way, and our 7-year old managed it easily on his bike, with hardly any traffic to worry about. For higher level walks it is easy to hike up from the valley floor onto the Cheviot hills.
The site feels very spacious and peaceful because the pitches are generously sized and spaced. For me this is one of the best sites I've stayed on in the UK. The weather was fairly drizzly when we were there, but even this could not detract from the loveliness of our surroundings during our week-long stay, and with our waterproofs on, we found no shortage of things to do. There is no playground, but plenty of grass that the kids can cartwheel on etc. I can fault nothing about it whatsoever.

Excellent site, usual CC standard, nice walk through the area behind the pitches around the river. Washblock immaculate and looks fairly new.
TV reception is a problem, but all electric posts have ariel point. (Leads available at reception to buy if you have not got one)
Fish and chips on a Friday excellent.
Close to Alnwick and Cragside is a bonus
Well recommended and we will be back next year.

We camped here over the Bank Holiday weekend to go to the Glendale show. It is a lovely site. The showers and facilities are first class. There are only 3 pitches for tents in the camping area. It was spacious and quiet. It is a good place to take dogs. The fish and chip van came on the Monday which was great.
Avoid the Plough pub as it is truly appalling despite its Trip Advisor status. They lied about being full for dinner - they were empty, had no ice nor crisps, had only one beer on and shut at 9 pm. Closed on Bank Holiday!
We'll be back.

For a Caravan Club site you know what to expect in terms of facilities, and this site didn't disappoint. It's quite small compared with other CC sites, and has mostly grass pitches rather than hardstandings. There are a number of wildlife walks on the doorstep, and the site is very convenient for many local attractions.
The only downside, as far as we were concerned, was that children continually rode their bikes right up to the doors of the washrooms despite there being notices saying no bikes or skateboards to be ridden in that area. A couple of times we saw older people having to move sharply out of the way as bikes suddenly appeared round a corner. A small fence with a staggered opening would soon solve the problem.

This is a large site but the landscaping provides plenty of privacy. The facilities are excellent in a single large block. I particularly appreciated the sunken shower cubicle which keeps the changing area free of water.
The site is short walk from the village which has a well stocked store. There is also a mobile fish and chip van which visits the site two nights a week but was parked in the village on the day we visited. The site is next to a former quarry which provides nesting for wild fowl. It is about 5 miles from Alnwick home of the famous Barter Books
