Enjoyed our stay here in June. Faciities exceptionally clean and well maintained. Site was full for the majority of our stay but never had to queue to use the facilities. Pitches well laid out - not in line format so appeared more spacious. Mixture of hardstanding and grass pitches so something for everyone! Wardens very helpful. Only draw back for us was that there was not enough different walks near to the site so ended up doing same walks as don't like to take the car out these days with the price of fuel being so high!
Easy walk to garage/shop which sold everyone although a little pricy.
Nature reserve within walking distance from site - plenty to see there. But watch out for adders!
All in all a nice site and would certainly recommend it for a peaceful stay in the country.

Excellent site, very clean an well cared for as you would expect from caravan club. Very picturesque. Caravans in 4 smallish areas. No barriers or keys. 10 minute walk to the main road.
The garage there selling papers etc and a pub which sells meals and opens for breakfast at 8 o,clock.Clean loos, adjustable shower, decent size shower stall with seat.
Plenty showers, no waiting, only ever a couple of ladies in when I was in, privacy cubicles also. Free hairdryers. Friendly staff. Pick a pitch and go back and tell them the number.
£20 per night for a serviced hard standing pitch on the May weekend. I phoned every day through the week for a cancellation and got the only one on the Friday.
Reception sells ice cream and chocolate. Open a couple of hours in the morning and from about 1 to 5.30 in afternoon. Notice says beware of the adders, never saw any much to my husbands disappointment.
Dog walking area and a nature trail round the park. Alnick is 10 miles away with a Morrisons supermarket, no cafe or petrol station at the store.
Very quiet site. Mostly adults and dogs the weekend we were there.

We visited this site a couple of times this summer as its fairly close to home for us. We find this a great tranquil site with friendly helpful staff and campers. Very clean shower block facilities and a shop for essentials.
The kids enjoy the nearby park in village and the pub does a decent value meal. The dog walk area is clean and handy. No clubhouse or park area but prefer the quiet anyway! our kids love the river on site with fishing nets etc.
Nearby walks and places to visit for those who love the outdoors like Ingram valley, Linhope Spout and also a good base for Alnwick and the Northumberland coast.
We would recommended the site its one of the best we've been to would definitely go back.

Stayed here 2nd - 4th July 2010. Well kept site as you would expect from Caravan Club site. 76 Pitches split between hardstanding and grass. Friendly staff.
All facilities you would need. Dog walk goes round the site. Deep pools here be careful for children. Adders prowl here according to the notices in the Gents loo.
Restaurant outside site on main road opposite. Serves breakfasts from 8 am 7 days a week as well as lunches and evening meals. £15.50 per night 2 adults and a dog. Would return to this site

Our visit was during the last two weeks of June and in the 'hot' weather.
Facilities do not need mentioning as they are of the usual Caravan Club standard, ie. Excellent -Wardens were friendly and non-intrusive and happy to chat if you were.
Dog walk is around the Nature Walk attached to the site and is very good because the river runs right through it (nice and cool for dogs), and even though there is an 'on leads' policy I let mine roam freely in the river when there were no other dogs around. Flys were a bit numerous but that's nature for you.
If you want a more adventurous dog walk; turn right out of Site; follow road until get to Glanton TJunction and look to your right for entrance into water filled old quarry pits. This is a large water area well stocked with wildlife, so any children in tow will need to be surpervised, and as long as your dogs can be controlled around the birds, they, and you, can enjoy a lovely walk (there is an access to river half way round where both children and dogs can paddle).
One thing to be warned about for any nervous dogs (my collie) - military jets fly low over the site during the week.
This is a site for people who are happy with nature and do not need the all singing - all dancing type of facilities. Seahouses is not that far anyway?

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this site. The facilities were excellent, pitches level and spacious. Only down side was the lack of a kids playground, we had everyone's kids playing in the tent field right next to our caravan, so were constantly having kids coming to retrieve balls from under the car and van.
I have been a member of the caravan club for 5 years and this was the very first club site I'd used and was very impressed. We,ll definitely come again.
As for the notices about the adders which the last reviewer mentioned, we saw not one but two of them sitting in the long grass just along the road from the site.

We are relatively new to touring and have visited this site twice, first time on a grass site, second on hardstanding. The first time (on grass) we experienced torrential rains, immediate flooding and thunderstorms. Caravan remained steady on flooded grass and soon dried out. The facilities are immaculate and the wardens very friendly.
There's plenty to do in the surrounding area with nearby Wooler, Ingam Valley and Powburn. You can walk to Powburn in about 10 mins and there's a brilliant wooden park for the kids!
There's a nice nature walk within the grounds of the site - can't wait to go back and see it when the weather's warmer!
Oh, and there's warnings on the facility block about possible Adders in the grass, so if anyone has a fear of snakes better warn them first! Although, I think the sightings would be very rare!

This is an excellent site - great facilities; great location. The facilities are of a very high standard, immaculately kept and plentiful. There is an excellent nature walk on site, with a bird hide, lake, picnic tables etc.
Locally, the small village of Powburn, about half a mile away, has a pub, a local meat supplier and a garage with a well stocked Londis supermarket. As mentioned, the bridge over the river has collapsed. However, it can be crossed further up the river. From the site, we walked towards a Ford on the river. From here, there is an excellent footpath over the fells to the village of Ingram, where you will find some of the best scenery in the Cheviots. There is footbridge in Ingram.
An excellent site. Will return.

A fabulous site. Peaceful and quiet, even when full. The toilet block is perfectly clean, warm and tidy - regularly cleaned and look after well - probably the best building you will found anywhere. Welcoming and helpful wardens. Great traditional local pub, good beer & food within walking distance. Have already been a number of times - will be revisiting.
