Site - I love this site, easy to get to, but a bit out of the way. Lovely area, flat, hardstanding and grass, separated into decent size areas off main circular drive, Lots of shrubs and trees, but not overshadowing. The grass areas you have to drive across to access some of the hardstandings can be boggy after rain so take care. Whooppee WIFI only the second site in 6 weeks, mainly in Scotland and Orkney, the other was Morvich, understand CC are having trouble with their supplier. TV on cable. Digital and analogue (due to be turned off Sept 2012). Choc a block middle of May in fact one van couldn't find a pitch until it was discovered a motorhome had forgotten to take his pitch marker with him when he left.
Also good if you like aircraft as they often overfly on their way to Otterburn ranges.
Wardens - very friendly and helpful, sell wonderful local icecream, at a much cheaper price than at Alnwick Gardens.
Dog Walk - great on site, and can go on nature area, river runs through great for a paddle or swim. Wonderful place.
Washroom - Newish Wooden barn-like building, immaculate lots of showers etc. Decent size showers but fixed head so have to lean in to wall to get head under and temperature tends to fluctuate.

This was our second visit to this site and it was just as well maintained and clean, and the wardens just as friendly, as I remembered from the first time.
Powburn village is about a mile away and has a pub and a petrol station which sells lots of essentials, including a good selection of ready meals, wine, sweets etc.
There are some bird hides fairly close to the site. For those who prefer more strenuous pursuits there are of course relatively straightforward walks in the Cheviots and some good level cycling particularly around the local villages and the Ingram National Park Centre.
All in all a peaceful setting.

Stayed here when the weather was brilliant so that brightens everything up, , but this site was spot on, couldn't fault it. Lovely grounds, river, walk bird hides, playing field (should be very good for children) showers etc, top notch. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had our little dog with us so we do like to walk and this place didn't disappoint, , turn right out the main gate and there are two lakes you can walk around or carry straight on to river. Over other side is the Northumberland national park, beautiful, or if you take the car you can walk up to Linhope Spout waterfall, well worth a look.

Booked at short notice via the club website. Arrived and allowed to choose our own pitch.
The site was fully booked during our stay but did not feel overcrowded. The facilities are excellent as is the location.
Alnwick castle is only 10 miles to the east and was loved by both the adults and children.
Rothbury is also about 10 miles away and is home to Cragside that is managed by the National Trust.
There is a garage at the end of the lane that also has a small costcutter supermarket. I have no doubt that we will be back to this site.

We booked in advance on CC website. When we arrived sign showing reception had closed early and any arrivals to find a pitch and settle up in morning. Site was near full and only 2 pitches - lucky for us we didn't arrive 15 mins later as 3 motorhomes turned away as no pitches left.
When we paid in morning wardens advised the had cancelled our booking as closing early at 3pm - can't believe they didn't reserve us a pitch or ring is to let us know.
Agree with all previous comments re great facility block. Lovely walks ion area too
We couldn't stay another night as wardens advised site fully booked - shame as its really lovely.
If you are travelling far would ring and check your booking as a very busy site that doesn't keep pitches for you if you book on CC website.

Excellent site for our first ever trip - hope everywhere is as nice as this!
Well laid out, not overcrowded, easy access to water etc, facilities block excellent, showers piping hot and very clean, loos well maintained, well equipped laundry room.
Fish and chip van calls on Sat eve and seemed popular, although we didn't try it.
Walk down the road to the nature reserve to view the migrating geese (probably the only negative - they were a tad noisy overhead!).
We'll be back and would recommend to everyone.

Oh my goodness! I've never been to a Caravan Club site before and what an experience it was. Cor these caravanners have it lush! This is a caravan site but has a small but very nice area for tents near the entrance.
There is easily enough room for 6-8 pitches but the site only allows 4 tents so there is loads of room but make sure you ring ahead. The facilities here are 5 star. Amazing building with laundry, washing up, showers etc.
The showers are designed really well so that you can keep all of your dry gear dry! They're free and really hot. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The site also seems to have its own nature area and I saw a deer in the field next door.
I only stayed one night because was on a cycling tour. The whole region is great though didn't go into Powburn itseld except to the garage which has a good shop.

Stayed on this site for 10 days its in a really lovely quiet area although it was quite busy it's quite spacious. The toilet and shower block was very clean and well looked after. There was a bird watch hut overlooking the river which was really good. Lots of places to visit and nearby Ingram is a good place with visitors centre and a really old church which was open to visitors. This is a rural and peaceful site.

This site is up to usual CC standards and we cannot fault it at all. Were met by friendly wardens and set off to pick our pitch.
There were different sections of hard standings and grass. We opted for grass but as the weather had been so bad recently the pitches had all been moved forward which meant that the the units were slightly closer together than normal. There was still plenty room, so not an issue.
The toilets were always warm and spotless, as usual. Only word of warning would be if you have young children as there are several areas of deep water in the vicinity, so they should always be supervised.
There are lots of lovely walks and picnic areas in the neighbourhood - well worth a visit. Lots to see and do near Alnwick, which is about 9 miles away. Will definitely return in the future.

Usual high Caravan Club standards are maintained at this site.
The site is small and compact with a mixture of grass and hardstanding pitches, it operates a one system of travel with no barriers.
There are a number of nature walks as well as a bird hide so this would be it's theme, so if you just want relax this is the place to be.
A short walk/ drive will bring you to a garage and shop, the village has a pub that also serves food.
One word of warning, if you are on O2 or T mobile there is no signal but there is a pay phone at reception.
