Stayed here at Easter. Had 5 days of strong winds and snow but site was excellent. Best toilets I have seen for a caravan club site. It is within easy walking distance of a village with a pub that does massive cheap meals (£5.50 for Sunday lunch). Farmers shop in village as well. Great walking in the area and loads of things to see and do. Will definitely visit again but probably at a time of the year when weather will be better.

Great site, especially the toilet block which is new and immaculate. Be warned, however, that it gets very busy in season and there are not many hardstandings; if you are on grass, as you are likely to be unless it's quiet when you arrive, you will have to do without a groundsheet in your awning unless you want to lift it every day. This is normal Club policy which we agree with, but the wardens at this site are quite pushy about it (even when you're doing it, as we were - we got mildly irritated). Other than this niggle, no criticisms - well kept, excellently situated for many visits (Cragside, Lindisfarne, Alnwick Castle - not to be missed), and loads of wonderful walks in the area. For a special meal we recommend the Tankerville Arms in Eglingham.

This is a lovely site in the middle of nowhere with friendly staff. It's perfect if you want a quiet holiday with excellent facilities or if you're prepared to travel, there are plenty of places to go. The pub/restaurant down the road is within easy walking distance & serves excellent food at very reasonable prices. If you intend to put up an awning, you'll need good quality rock pegs as the ground is very hard. In fact, the site is around the corner from a former quarry which has been filled with water & resembles a lake with a bird sanctuary island where many species seemed to be nesting. If you get the chance, check out the nearby Cragside Estate as it's ideal for romantic walks through the woods, rock gardens, various other types of gardens & waterfalls.

Lovely Site, well worth a visit. New Toilet & Shower block, unbelievably clean! Tent area is small and can only hold about 8 tents. Set beside a quarry but you would never know. Easy walk to Powburn where there are two Pubs. One beside a Petrol station and the other in the village, which allows dogs in! Wonderfull. We will definitely be going back.

This is a great site with superb shower / washroom / toilet facilities. The tent area is peaceful, flat and not far from the toilets / showers. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return in the future. The site is a good touring point (by car) to some outstanding areas of beauty including Alnwick, Bamburgh castle, Dunstanburgh castle and the Scottish borders. One improvement would be a small play area for young children with slide / swings etc. Otherwise, excellent

Very peaceful. If you like nature go for it. Not really much for the kids but we managed.Nearby towns lots to see and do. Showers were WOW great quality and well kept as you would expect. Garage near the site is handy in case you run out as they are open late and sell everything you need. Don't know if we would go again but would recommend this for anyone who wants quiet or has active kids that like the outdoors

This is a fabulous site. Superb facilities and maintained to an excellent standard. The tent area is small - about 6 or 7 pitches and does not offer electric hook up for tents. Several large tents would struggle to pitch here. A few picnic tables in tent area. I can't praise this site highly enough, immaculately clean modern shower block, plentiful hot water, ample showers and privacy cubicles (wash basin in cubicle). Level grass pitches very well maintained.

This site is up to the high standards associated with the CC. and the site and area is in view of the Cheviot hills. With clean beaches, sand castles and real castles are in abundance and not to far away. There are good pubs and eating places nearbye and you are not too far from the Scottish Borders

March 2005 Great site. Usual high CC standards. Excellent wash room / laundry facilities. Very friendly wardens. However there is a serious drainage problem and even the hardstanding areas became waterlogged over the Easter period. Still had a great time though.
Loads of places to visit locally. Alnwick Castle and the Gardens are a definite 'must see' if you go to this site. As is the National Trust property Cragside. The beach at Alnmouth is lovely golden sand. Quite a remote site (20 mins drive to Alnwick nearest supermarket) but the Mace store at the petrol station 1 mile from the site stocks everything you could ever need.

October 2004 My visit to this site was during the 1st weekend of October. I was camping, and found the prices charged to be acceptable.
The camping area was a little on the small side, with pitches also being small, this area was situated right by the entrance, rather than at the back of the site "out of sight".
The shower/toilet block was 1st class, very warm and spotlessly clean.
would recommend to all caravanners and campers with smaller outfits than mine
