The staff are friendly and helpful. Facilities are clean and tidy. Good open views, next to the North sea. Good skyscapes too. Peaceful setting. Security is very good.

I have visited Rosemarkie site many times and intend to do so again.
Yes the blocks are a bit dated but always clean and plenty of hot water. It has been mentioned only two showers in the ladies but it is the same as the gents. I personally did not find it a problem as you can time for when it is free, I found that some people using the washing machine switched on then forgot about there wash ???.
But that is not the fault of the site. The wardens very helpful but I understand the present wardens are due for a move and they will be missed. Fortrose/ Rosemarkie very friendly place with all you need butchers bakers and a co-op, Meal at the golf club excellent and the union tavern good company

There are two campsites at Chanonry Point: Rosemarkie run by the Camping and Caravan Club and the privately owned Fortrose Caravan (but also takes tents) Park. The sites are within a mile of each other on either side of the golf course leading down to the lighthouse. I would suggest you consider both before booking as facilities are similar. Rosemarkie has the slightly better location but Fortrose is slightly cheaper!
We stayed on Rosemarkie for five nights in the school holidays. It was expensive, we are members but still paid £30 per night for two adults, a car, medium sized tent and electric hook up. The welcome was friendly. We were offered a choice between a sea view pitch but exposed to the wind or a more sheltered pitch without the stunning view across the bay. The soil was surprisingly rocky given the beach side location.
It must be stated that for the price the facilities are poor. The two toilet blocks were clean but too small and rather 'tired'. There is no playground, games or drying room. A minor road runs through the site giving no security and a safety headache if you have small children. Wifi worked well early in the morning but struggled with the demands made on it later in the day.
On the plus side the location is just amazing! Don't pay for the dolphin boat trips, just walk down the beach to the lighthouse and, hopefully, you will get great views.
In the opposite direction you can walk to Rosemarkie beach cafe. Pick up a leaflet called 'wonderful walks' to explore further.
Both Fortrose and Rosemarkie have village shops, cafes and pubs. The Co-op in Fortrose was quite big enough for our needs. You need to drive to Inverness for a proper supermarket.
We recommend Hugh Miller's house in Cromarty for an interesting blend of Victorian geology and religion.
We also climbed Ben Wyvis (1046m), about an hour's drive away. In good weather it must be one of the easier Munros.
Overall a 'marmite' site: you will leave counting the days until you can return or just counting how much money you have spent!

Our third visit in as many years. Arrived for a 9 night stay and was allocated a great sea view. The site was busy which did allow for some delays for showers in the mornings but, not a big problem. Site in excellent order and all facilities clean and serviceable.
I can't find anything detrimental to say about it, other than the limited number of showers, but its easily dealt with. Will be back yet again.

Lovely site situated on waters edge looking over the Moray Firth. We wanted to erect an awning so didn't have a front row position. Really wasn't a problem though as we still had a nice view of the water.
Nice warm welcome when we arrived and help locating our site. It's also a peaceful site with just the sound of the waves. A short walk into Fortrose for a small selection of shops and a couple of pubs - Union Bar serves a decent pint and g&t. The Crofters restaurant is also a short walk away but booking is a must. Lovely food so I'd definitely recommend. The best thing is definitely the walk along to Chanery Point to watch the bottlenose dolphins who obligingly perform very regularly. The neighbouring golf club also welcomes non-members (a very nominal one day member fee payable) a lovely club with great views from their lounge, nice bar meals and staff welcoming and friendly.
The only tiny criticism of this site would be the toilet block is small - only two showers in the ladies, however it is clean and warm, just time your shower carefully!
We will definitely be back for many more visits, we were sorry to be leaving.

Some coastal erosion since our visit three years ago, the front row runs parallel with the beach and has electric hook ups. These are non awning pitches, however some motorhomes and caravans put out large windbreaks and pup tents blocking off the view from the second row.
Some of the grass pitches are well worn down and could be a very muddy during wet periods.
The showers and W/Cs are clean and tidy, however they are old and worn out with old mould in the shower trays.
The site is in a wonderful location, ideal for touring, walking or just chilling on the beach, local shops antique shop and a small local museum are located in the village, all within easy walking distance.
Well worth another visit in a couple of years.

5 night stay 20-24 July. Wife, 12 year old daughter, dogs and me.
I cannot fault this site in any way. The pitches and site are well maintained, clean and all facilities are of a high standard. The site is on two locations separated by a narrow road, but both are close to the sea shore. The local shops and other facilities are easily walked to or just a short drive away. Golf course adjacent to site. Plenty of local walks and some more lengthy hikes for those who so desire. A great 10 mile walk to Cromarty from the site, along some of the bay beaches. Our pitch was huge and dry underfoot, bearing in mind the monsoon season that arrived! A short walk along the beach to Chanonry Point and some dolphin watching. I cannot recommend the local restaurant 'Crofters' enough. The food and service provide a great experience and cater for all ages. You will need to book though.

Immaculately maintained with friendly and helpful staff, as on most Camping Club sites. The site is basically a strip of grass alongside the Moray Firth with splendid views of Fort George and the sea. Good viewing of dolphins along the beach at the lighthouse, best on an incoming tide. The site is open to bad weather, especially from the east and suffers from a public road running through the middle, which can make campers feel a bit goldfish-like and insecure because of a lack of fences and barriers. Ideal location for touring, but the facilities need expanding - just 6 showers (3 male and 3 female) for the whole site!

Have stayed here many times in recent years, usually opting for no power and a front row pitch if possible. Not an option this year as beach front pitches now have power. Can be quite muddy in wet weather and the facilities really do need some investment now. Although always clean they really show their age and at these prices they should be better.
We will always return but always hope for a little more investment.

Fantastic Site - We arrived on Friday for a three night stay. The pitches are all grass but well maintained and hookups easy to administer. The site offers two rows of pitches with a central access route. All pitches offer outstanding views across the ocean which is just a few metres away. The toilet/washing/cleaning blocks are excellent albeit due to their size, it may get a bit 'queued' during high season. The site staff are excellent and extremely helpful. Ten minutes walk in any direction takes you into either Fortrose or Rosemarkie. Villages provide all the facilities, restaurants/take away outlets, and shops needed. Eateries are outstanding. Great for kids due to local facilities and only a short drive from Inverness if required. Two breweries nearby along with historical and natural attractions. Can't wait to get back for a longer break. 10/10.
