Great location and very friendly site managers. The facilities were clean with hot showers. All you need!
We were told where and when to see the dolphins and they obliged dead on time - and just a short walk away.
We ate at the Eilean Dubh Restaurant and drank and ate at the Plough Inn. Both very good.
The free Pictish Museum was excellent.
There was also an interesting looking walk to a nearby wood & waterfall but we weren't able to fit this in. Next time perhaps.

Very nice site next to pebbly/sandy beach with good facilities, though ladies block only has one shower on second field so no good if everyone tries to get one first thing in the morning. Staff are great and very helpful.
All pitches have good views as site is narrow and good spacing between units means it doesn't feel crowded. The first field is best for small children as they can access the beach directly from it whereas the second field has a road between site and beach which poses a danger to young ones.
Very dog friendly with bins provided near to beach; we never saw dog mess left around anywhere and everyone seemed to respect the beach as a place to keep clean. Interestingly there is a no-alcohol-zone on and around the beach and it wasn't used for BBQs or parties as it would spoil the beauty of the place. The dolphins were out a lot when we were there but not always in a predictable manner and not always close in, so, patience and a good pair of binoculars needed. They did come near to the point if the fish and tide drew them there which was lovely to see. There is a very good 2 hr trip out from Cromarty in a dinghy if you want to get a closer view which is well worth the money and they respect the dolphin's need for space.
Sea is very cold but nice for a quick dip; wetsuits recommended. No jetskis or noisy stuff around and there are no waves (in good weather) as it is such a sheltered bay .Rosemarkie has a decent shop and smart restaurant / takeaway and it is a good site to spend a quiet week at.

An small, but excellent site in my opinion with well spaced and laid out tent pitches. Staff were very welcoming, showing us to our pitch and keeping us right.
Toilet and washing facilities amongst the best I have encountered, although they could do with more showers. I was initially a bit disappointed with the lack of space in the showers (e.G. For changing), but realised that this actually worked quite well as most people, like myself, decanted to the 'washbowl' cubicles to change - freeing up the shower more quickly - meaning that despite the limited number, I rarely queued to get in. Still - could do with one or two more showers.
Local facilities include a rocky beach 100 yards away and a sandier beach less than half a mile away. Some nice places to eat locally - bistro half a mile away. Also a must see is the dolphins around 2 miles walk along the beach. Campsite staff gave us useful tips on best time to see these tide-wise.
Small, tired-looking playpark for the kids next to a beach cafe around 3/4 of a mile away.
Another thing to bear in mind is that the area seems to have a 'blessed micro-climate', we got significantly better weather than other parts of Scotland at the same time.
However, on the whole a big thumbs up - would definitely go back.

Stayed here for two nights and cannot but agree with everything positive that has already been written about this site in previous posts. It is very good, great location, friendly site managers. Being such a great site you do need to book or risk disappointment. We stopped here the end of June phoning two days previous and getting the last available pitch. Were also lucky enough to see the dolphins off Chanonry Point both nights we went there. Also found The Plough Pub in the village very friendly, also dog friendly and serving two nice handpump local real ales. Would definitely return to this site.

I travelled with both my wife and pet dog and only stayed the one night but we were impressed by this site, its location right on the coast is superb.
First of all, the couple who run the site were very friendly, welcoming and helpful during our stay.
As it was still early in the season (and cold!) the site wasn't full (in fact we were the only tent until joined later by one other). There were plenty of caravans and motorhomes though so the site wasn't empty.
There are two amenity blocks (with toilets, washbasins & showers) one at each end of the site and are kept very clean. They are closed for half an hour for cleaning every day but are also checked in between and cleaned if necessary.
The site overlooks the beach on the Moray Firth and it provides a good walk (our dog loved it!). We walked along the beach to Chanonry Point to watch the dolphins that appear when the tide changes. We also found a good walk inland called Fairy Glen which is great for spotting wildlife.
Within walking distance of the site is a Bistro, a restaurant, a pub and several shops. There is also a shop on the site for the basics.
We appreciated the dog walk on the site which is very handy if you just need to let the dog have a quick wee!
I can't comment on the child friendliness of the site but I would think it may be a bit quiet for them. There weren't any children in evidence while we were there.
I suppose if I had to be negative then it would be about the price. As it's a C&CC site then it charges extra if you're not a member and this makes the price £22 p/n for 2 adults. If you're a member then the cost is £16, much more reasonable. Having said that, I think it worth it to get first-class facilities.

On arrival, we were met by two very friendly wardens. Throughout our stay the Wardens always went out of their way to wave and say hello.
The site is in an excellent position overlooking half moon bay and right next door to a golf course. From every pitch, the views are stunning, out to sea and surrounding coast line. The toilet facilities are also excellent and to the usual Camping and Caravan Club standards. The small town of Rosemarkie is in walking distance. There is licensed Bistro which does excellent food and is open in the evenings and is five minutes walk from the site. A Spar shop is in Rosemarkie.
Unfortunately, we did not see the dolphins when we were there, but the warden did mention they were sighted the week before.
We have nothing negative to say about this site. The weather was not great when we visited but there are loads of places to visit nearby including Inverness and good walks round about, which will keep you occupied.

Excellent site. Lovely and clean toilets and showers. Site was quite busy but still quiet.
Wardens are friendly and helpful.
Great place to see the dolphins just along the beach at lighthouse ten minute walk away, great to see them so close to the shore throwing salmon up in the air, good time of year to see them do this. Local chip shop is well worth a visit too great food. Would definitely visit again.

An excellent site spot for all ages. Kids loved the freedom whilst dogs loved the water! Such a lot to see whether on foot or cycling. Nearby shops. Toilet facilities absolutely A1. Spotless doesn't even touch on describing them. Laundry facilities excellent. Beach Cafe was just opening for season so walked along to the caves and then stopped for coffee and ice creams. Had a meal out one evening at the restaurant on the front (can't remember what it was called) - again excellent. May think about going back in October school holidays - weather dependent!

Our first camping expedition and we couldn't have picked a better place!
Owners very helpful - allowed me to arrive early with no extra charge.
Pitch locations marked with good distances between. A dog walk along the back of the site - great for that last wee (dog - not me!)
Showers hot and all facilities spotlessly clean. Hairdryer fixed in toilet block (costs 20p but lead is very short).
Shops and facilities in Rosemarkie and Fortfose great - fish and chips best i've tasted.
Saw dolphins every day (from the lighthouse at Chanonry Point) it's best to go on a rising tide we went 1hr before high tide and had a 100% success rate.
The Black Isle is a wonderful destination with lots to do and see and with easy access to Inverness, you should be able to please everyone.
This site was so good that we went back a week later and look forward to going again soon. Enjoy!

Friendly staff, good pitches staggered to give sea views, but front pitches are not hookup, understandable when you see how close the Moray Firth is to your pitch. Toilets and showers immaculate. Village shops to north are a waste of space. Site takes a bit of finding if your a thicko like me. Loads of dolphins. For me and her indoors, great site (Dunno about sprog facilities) Will visit again.
