Had an enjoyable two night stay. The main reason for staying was the hope of seeing dolphins and we weren't disappointed.
The site is well maintained and flat. The wardens/managers were very friendly and helpful on arrival and when seeing them around the site. The toilet block was kept very clean with what must have been multiple cleaning sessions a day.
The view from the pitch was excellent and the sound of waves breaking on the beach that is just metres from the van was great.
We were lucky enough to see dolphins jumping in the bay from the site and with a level stroll down to the lighthouse, the dolphins were just metres from the beach.
There are shops a pubs in the nearby villages.
A great site that is well worth a visit.

Lovely site right next to the sea. Wardens were helpful and pleasant. Toilets and showers were spotless. The only down side was we were pitched beside the road that runs through the site. One night the local lads decided to be a bit mischievous and unpegged our guys at the back of our tent. This was a bit scary as it was two in the morning and woke us from our sleep. The boys had got up to other mischief a few pitches along. I reported this to the warden who told me the police had been called and the matter was in hand. Peaceful for the rest of visit.
Lots to do and see. Small co-op nearby and chip shop. Cafe on the beach gets great reviews but did not visit this time round. Visited the Black Isle Brewey very friendly staff. Tours available and free sampling of beer at the end.
Overall a good visit would go back.

Spent Sunday evening on site, having arrived in the dark. Woke up to a brilliant sunrise over the firth at Fort George. Campsite was ideal offering unobstructed views over the water and clean toilets and shower area. We had hoped to see the dolphins but were instructed it was too late in the year, however we had a nice walk along beach over the golf course with great views all around. A nice Bistro was only about 4OO yards from site. Will certainly be returning. Nearby Avoch is worth a visit with it's small harbour and various eateries.

What a fabulous site. We arrived and the wardens were super friendly - always a great first impression. Our pitch was on the end of the first grass area but no campers on front pitches so glorious views from any pitch.
Toilets / showers clean and good piping hot water. The only complaint would be why other campers leave toilet roll on the floor and water all over the place, wardens did a great job cleaning but facilities didn't always reflect this.
Both villages are well worth a walk. Fortrose has a Coop, butchers, 2 bakers, pub, post office and restaurant. Rosemarkie has a Spar and a lovely community run cafe right on the beach.
The beach is wonderful with miles of sand / pebbles - easy to walk on from end to end. From the pitches the views out into the Moray Firth and Fort George are stunning and worth the trip alone.
A really wonderful site and cannot recommend it highly enough.

A very well run site and friendly helpful staff. Each person is sited to enable all to have a sea view where possible. Very considerate and helpful. A fairly small site right on the sea front and yes I actually did see the dolphins and on one occasion they were right in front of the site.
Lovely area although quite remote. Fortrose is a 20 mins walk(were oldies and walk quite slowly) where you will be able to get all you provisions and a very nice restaurant serving most of the day.
Rosemarkie is a short walk and a lovely little town.

We have just spent a few days at this campsite. Our main reason being there was to see the dolphins off Chanonry Point. Our first visit to the point resulted in some great pics with some jumping together clean out of the water. The other visits were not so good as the dolphins were not so active.
This campsite is split into two sections by a minor road to the village that runs beside a beautiful sandy beach. We had a wonderful view overlooking the bay.
The toilets are kept very clean. The camp shop is only open for a short time morning and evening.
There is a good dog walk which runs the length of the site.
We will definitely go back there again.

Our first visit to Rosemarkie, all pitches are grass and some were very well worn and muddy.
We had selected an electric hook up pitch which was located up at the end of the first site, although on the second row, it had excellent views across the bay.
Two small W/C and shower blocks, both spotless, wardens very friendy and helpful.
Well supplied site shop, local shop in the village with papers, large superstores in Inverness if you coming in from the A9.
This is a site you can really relax on, the sound of the waves, excellent bird watching and the last but not least, the dolphins.
I had my telescope with me and had some really good views of the dolphins.
Really nice site, will return for longer next time.

Superb - helped by the weather - 12 nights of wall to wall sunshine in Scotland can't be bad!
Although the facilities are not too numerous, and a little dated (site is owned by local council, so upgrading is difficult) they are kept in immaculate condition by the staff. They ensure you're sited sensibly, offsetting units at the water's edge and further inland to ensure everyone gets the best possible view of the Moray Firth. The dolphins were there twice a day every day, and although there is a public road at the site's edge, this doesn't create a noise problem, and overall, the site is a haven of peace - topped off with regular visits from the local dolphins which put on a twice daily show at the lighthouse! This was our third visit - and we'll be back again, despite it being 350 miles from home.

We have visited this site x2 this year in June and July with our large tent the first time and our small tent the second time as we were on a flying visit to go to the Scottish Open Golf on the other side of the Moray Firth.
Yes its an expensive site but not if you join the C&C club. Its a busy site but peaceful. We loved lying in our tent and hearing the water lapping on the pebbled shore.
With only one shower in one of the toilet blocks it can get busy. But would be quicker if ladies just showered in them and did a quick move to the wash cubicles to finalise their dressing and spraying activities!
Excellent local shops and pubs nearby.
Husband liked the golf course and practice area.
Did not go to see the dolphins. But when talking to some locals at the golf open they felt that since the point had been on the TV it had made it so well known that there was a chance that it may be spoilt.
When we were there in July, Fort George opposite shoreline was glowing in the setting sun and I thought it looked like a Moroccan citadel.
The views form the site are spectacular and the Moray Firth is beautiful.
The road going along the middle - which is a public road is still very quiet with traffic that generally goes to the slow speed limit.
Wardens very helpful when we were arriving and working out what size of pitch we need for our large tent and when we arrived slightly later - but we had phoned and let them know we were going to be late and estimated time of arrival.
We will definitely be back.
Lots to do in the area and places to visit.

Fantastic location right on the beach, don't be put off by the minor road running directly along the back of the site. Wonderful views and only a 20 minute walk along the beach to Chanonry Point where the dolphins show up as regular as clockwork - we saw them every time we went down and were treated to wonderful displays of their agility, truly breathtaking!
In the opposite direction along the beach we saw otters just off the shore.
There is a golf course adjacent to the site, we didn't play but they seemed to welcome non members.
The facilities are excellent, plenty of toilets, free hot showers and always spotlessly clean. There is a hair dryer in the ladies but there's a 20p charge for this. My husband thought the mens shower cubicles were on the small side.
The wardens are very efficient, but we didn't find them very personable when checking in.
Lovely community run beach cafe in Rosemarkie. Fantastic real ale pub in Fortrose (The Anderson) with the best burgers we've ever tasted. The external appearance belies the quality of the beer, food and friendliness of the owner and staff. Again this is within easy walking distance from the site; probably about half an hour.
Nice walk up the fairy glen to a couple of very pretty waterfalls.
We will definitely be back, it is a wonderful place.
