Stayed here for two nights in July, on our Scotland tour.
The campsite could not be better situated, 5 mins walk from Rosemarkie and 10 mins walk from Fortrose, so plenty of shops and pubs close by.
Our tent pitch was about 10ft from the pebble beach, overlooking the stunning views of the Moray Firth.
Don't forget to take your binoculars and spend a little time dolphin watching.
The site is very clean and very well maintained, as are the toilet blocks.
I have only 3 very small negatives about this site:-
1, More showers would be nice, as they can get very busy at peak times.
2, Take a big hammer and some good quality pegs as the ground is very stony and I'm sure it can get very windy at times.
3, It’s not cheap! (but worth every penny in my book).
A real gem of a site this one, with stunning views. The highlights are the Dolphins, peace and quite and the sound of the waves to rock you off to sleep at night.
We can't wait to return.

Stayed for five nights in August. Site is divided into two areas and we were offered a choice of pitches in the area furthest away from the reception. Pitch fantastic, only yards away from the beach. Small road runs through the campsite, which could be a problem if you have young children but very quiet and most drive slowly along it.
Only one shower in the ladies block in our area, which also seemed to have a slight problem with slow drainage, so walked to larger block in other area, which was nicer and cleaner anyway.
Most people appeared to stay for quite a long time at this site, so unusually had to queue for washing machine and tumble dryer. Dishwashing sinks in our area right next to ladies door, husband said quite off-putting for people to have to squeeze past to use showers etc.
There is no children's play area, but no need as beach is so close to all pitches. Saw dolphins several times at Chanonry Point, 10mins stroll along beach.
Lots to do in surrounding area, and would definitely visit again if just for view from pitch and dolphins.

The gents' shower block is probably the smallest you'll meet anywhere. That's the only negative bit out the way. The rest is all upbeat and positive. The shower blocks were pristine and kept so by the wardens - who we found friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. They even seemed to be able to keep one step ahead of the children. Location cannot be bettered. Where else can you dolphin watch from beside your own 'van, yet be a few minutes from two good food pubs, 2 general stores, and a Chinese take-away? The site itself strings along the shores of the Moray Firth - as far as we could see every pitch has a view of the sea. Some have hook-up; some don't. Some are level; some aren't quite so, but nothing a set of chocks couldn't cure. Mobile signals (Voda and Orange) are good. TV not bad. If you're going to the Black Isle, look up at the field to the east of Rosemarkie. Has the Pictish symbol being cut into the grass been finished yet? A beautiful site. We hope to be back soon.

Lovely site. Views stunning (weather permitting) and proximity to the beach is great if you have kids although the road through is a slight concern. Facilities clean and tidy, as you'd expect. As for the lack of showers. I wouldn't let an occasional 5 minute wait for a shower spoil my holiday or dictate my choice of site! I understand why the loos have the keypad entry systems but it can be a pain if you have kids of an age who can take themselves to the toilet but can't remember a code and/or push the buttons in the right sequence. Wardens generally good although we found one of them to have a very up and down mood! It is stony for pegs but beach site often are. A bit of perseverance with a mallet did the job and to be honest you only put your pegs in once, not every day! All in all 8/10

On a recent three weeks tour of Scotland we came across a terrific little site right on the banks of the Moray Firth where you could walk just 100 metres along the beach and see wild dolphins at play in the waters. The site was a Camping and Caravan Club site but welcomed all comers. It was called the 'Rosemarkie' and was situated just off the A9 about five miles north of Inverness. The site wardens were exceptionally helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble. Toilets and showers were exceptionally clean and the wardens enthusiasm showed in the little things (like proper toilet paper, and fresh soap daily plus flowers in the ladies washroom).or so I'm told by my wife. Grass was cut on a daily basis as was the dog walk. The front row of pitches were no more than a few metres from the shingle beach and you could hear the sea lapping all night long. A really restful sound. Rosemarkie village its self was a sleepy little place with a licenced grocer, a butcher and a 'Spa' store for all your daily requirements.or, a couple of miles in the other direction was the small hamlet of Fortrose where there was a really friendly Coop store that stocked almost everything that you could need. Peace and quiet with the gentle lapping of the sea is the main attraction of this site apart from the helpful and friendly wardens, but at less than £10.00 per night including awning and electric hook-up I consider this a good site to visit if you are touring the Highlands of Scotland.

Stayed here for a week just before midsummer; had brilliant pitch looking straight out over the firth, just across road from beach (road not at all busy, and no noise from it at night). Wardens were very pleasant and helpful - they mentioned they'd only been there about six months, so probably not the same ones complained about in the earlier reviews. Toilet block on this part of campsite only had one shower cubicle, but it was kept very clean, with loads of hot water, and there were a few cubicles with washbasins.
Campsite is within easy walking distance of Rosemarkie village, and cycling distance of Fortrose, also about a mile away is a headland where a school of dolphins come to feed (and just hang out, I guess). We saw about seven or eight of them, swimming around and leaping out of the water, only about 20 feet from the shore.
Lovely place - already planning to go back next year.

I'm surprised at the negative reviews here. We're not club members so, yes it was expensive! But totally worth it for the sunrises and the dolphins! We were offered an excellent pitch which unfortunately was very close to a family with small children, it was no trouble at all for the site manager to move us further away when we asked. We then got an even better one which meant we were directly opposite the sunrise. absolutely stunning every morning. The shower blocks and I do mean blocks. not sure why other reviewers seem to think there was only one. were clean and never overly busy, never had to wait. The site was handy for walking along the beach to see the dolphins at the point. Rosemarkie village is only a short walk from the site and Fortrose a short drive so all the usual amenities were never far away. An excellent site which has only one flaw, you did feel a little too close to a well used (but not overly busy) road which runs right through the site. We'll be going back this year and look forward to spending time in such beautiful surroundings!

We spent 13 nights here in a caravan/awning. On the pitch we were given the ground was, literaly, rock hard and I had a good deal of trouble pegging the awning down. We seemed to be on top of some old concrete foundations. The rock is about 2" below the surface. TIP: hammer the pegs in at an angle of about 30 degrees from the horizontal - not ideal, but it works. Ok, the site was full, but as we had booked some four months in advance, I would have expected to be given a more suitable pitch - there were clearly some "softer" pitches around the site.
Good clean toilet block, but the water supply went off on one occassion which meant a long trek to the other toilet block. The grey water drain was blocked for the whole length of our visit - again this meant a bit of a trek with the wastemaster. On more than one occassion I found the bins overflowing too.
All in it cost us over £200 for the time we were there, and I would really have expected a better experience. I have been before - and would go again, but I think a little bit of complacency is setting in with the operators of the site.

We were lucky enough to have a pitch overlooking the sea - only a quiet single track public road between us and it. Site is flat and easily accessed. Warden helped us position our 'van for best scenic views. Loos and shower (note not plural) usual immaculate standard for a club site - accessed by a pin no. lock to keep the public out. Site is 2 miles from anywhere, 12 miles from Inverness. 10/10

No more than a certificated site with toilets, and not enough of those. Gents showers tiny, great position for watching Dolphins though, walked out at 8am never left the pitch and there they were. Site manager was the most obnoxious I have ever met in many years of tin/nylon/cotton tenting. He offended the kids within 5 mins, he offended me the first meeting with him and he offended the kids again, we were only there for two nights! (one full day that we were out for most of).
