Good location and views, well worth a walk to Chanonry point where it is quite common to see dolphins at play. Only draw back is the road seems to be used by young racers in the evening with their souped up vehicles with minimal silencers and early morning commuters heading for work. To baffle the noise with vegetation would ruin the views.
Toilet blocks fairly basic, water flow from shower was more like a mist than a downpour.
Price is high compared with others with better more modern facilities.
Not all pitches have power connection.
Staff helpful and friendly.

Spent a single night, at the beginning of October, so getting very late in the season.
We're not members of the camping & caravan club, so paid a slightly dearer (but still good value) £25 for camper & hook-up (2 adults + beagle).
Site is well situated, right on the shore of the Moray Firth, 10 minutes walk from the dolphins at Chanory point. We went at high-tide and the Dolphins turned up on queue.
We had a sea-view pitch in the furthest field, fantastic view, and close to the toilets + showers. Toliets were warm and spotlessly clean. As others have commented, only 1 shower in this block, but at this time of year, the site was pretty quiet, so no queue for the shower.
Warden on his bicycle was extremely helpful. Helped me park the camper to ensure best view and level.
Will definitely use this site again, though I suspect it will be VERY busy in high-season.

We visited this site twice, in July and September 2010. The first time was showery, the second constant pouring rain! (not much fun, but that's Scotland for you). Both times the warden was very friendly and helpful, and the facilities spotlessly clean - he cycles round checking all the blocks frequently.
We were in the 'near' field, which has amenities blocks with 3 toilets/3 washrooms/2 showers in each of ladies and gents, plus a separate room for dishwash/laundry (3 sinks, one low for wheelchair users). While we were there there were no queues.
Location is absolutely gorgeous - the pitches look out on to a shingle beach, so you can wake up to the sound of the waves lapping. There are usually dolphins to be seen at nearby Chanonry Point and sometimes from the campsite itself.
Only slight negative is that a lot of the pitches are rocky in places. The warden did offer to sell us rock pegs, but we managed to make do. During heavy rain the ground got a bit waterlogged, though not as bad as some sites.
Will definitely return (in nicer weather.)

Just back from 3 nights at this site. Good location - just a few mins walk to Rosemarkie itself which has a deli, Spar and pub (the Plough Inn).
Fortrose is also walkable, just up the hill which has a chip shop and Co-op. Just across a quiet road to the beach, about a 20 mins walk along the beach to the lighthouse and the dolphins. We only really dealt with one warden but he was really helpful and always waved as he headed past on his bike.
Our pitch wasn't great as it was right outside the toilet/washing block so there was quite a bit of noise but the site looked full and we had booked with electric which obviously limited the choices. Also there was only one shower in the block which did mean having to queue even though our area was almost all caravans.
It rained constantly the last night but the ground held up very well. Plenty of things to do in the surrounding area, we visited Inverness, Fort George, Dornoch and of course the Black Isle Brewery. Will visit again but will probably phone directly and be more choosy about which pitch we get.

This site is a great location being right next to a quiet yet beautiful beach. The campsite is about a metre above the beach so if you get camped next to it you can look out over the sea all night. There are lots of really nice walks in the area and you can walk to the pub and get a meal along the beach in 5mins. The owners were really helpful and nice and facilities clean. The only negative things I can really think of is that it was a little expensive as caravan club sites often are and that there isn't a park or anything if you have children (which we don't)

This was our second visit to this site. We were in the 2nd field this time and right at the back, so no view apart from a folding camper. I will try and get a pitch on the sea front next time as it wasn't very nice stuck at rear of the site.
The washing up and toilet block were right beside us, which was handy and loads of folk stopped to speak on their way past.
The site was full but the facilities were still spotless and the wardens friendly and helpful. They still made time to stop and chat when they were on their rounds.
We'll be back to this lovely site again and again I think !

A really nice site. Staff friendly, good views, quiet, clean facilities. We ate at the Crofters which was very good and the shop in the village had a great selection of deli stuff, meat and other fresh food including a fantastic range of cakes - don't bother shopping before you get here!
Two negative points - the advertised wifi doesn't reach to the second field (if that's important to you), and there aren't enough showers in the furthest toilet block - only one each male / female. Strangely however there were two private cubicles with sinks in. I really don't believe that many people these days will strip wash rather than shower, so why not remove one of the cubicles and put another shower in?
One other thing to bear in mind is that the Nigg ferry is not working at present - however there are no signs indicating that this is the case anywhere on the way to it (it is still advertised on the road signs) until you actually get to the quay. Nor is it clear from the ferry website that this is the case.

Just spent a very enjoyable 8 nights at Rosemarkie & will definitely recommend this site to friends & family.
It's very clean & well looked after by the helpful, friendly wardens (even the dog walk is a pleasure to walk around; no mess in sight!)
Fabulous views and plenty of walks without having to use the car: to the lighthouse when tide is coming in to see the dolphins; around the coastline by path or beach, or into the woods to Fairy Glen to see the waterfalls.
Ate at The Crofters Restaurant & Bar & also at the local pub, The Plough, & can recommend both.
Local shop called Comfort Foods is also excellent.
Our section only had 1 male & 1 female shower but this didn't cause much of a problem whilst we were there.

We spent a week here with two young kids. The site is effectively on the beach so it was great for them who were most disappointed any time we left the site! It is a long linear level site with effectively two fields. Not all pitches are adjacent to the beach and in some places are three deep. Our pitch was at the end of the site and in the back row, but this was fine - we still had wonderful sea views of the Moray Firth.
The only drawback(primarily from the kids point of view) is that a minor public road runs through the site and there may be a safety concern - albeit most traffic is considerate and slows to a safe speed.
The wardens are extremely friendly and helpful showing us to a designated pitch (- we saw a few people moving -having consulted with the wardens- when preferred pitches became available).
The best thing was no need to use the car once we were there-we did the forest walk along the road from the site, good beach walks (also saw the dolphins), some family cycling available also. The local pub was fine (if a bit tired), the local shop was good value for money.
The toilets were more than adequate- very clean and well maintained (local forecasts and tide times for dolphin spotting placed on notice boards.)
There is a council run cafe within easy walking distance from the site with a nice sandy beach and play park - (no playpark on site but not an issue with the beach so close).
It was a most relaxing week (it was great going to sleep listening to the sound of the waves)and we certainly hope to return as we had great weather despite poor forecast - there appears to be a microclimate in this cove. Can highly recommend this site.

A well located site with lovely clean facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Our pitch was right on the front and we watched the dolphins as we had breakfast both mornings.
The beach kept our 2 year old occupied - watching for boats and dolphins and finding unusual coloured stones, so a playground was not a necessity.
A great chip shop in Fortrose if you can't be bothered cooking and a lovely walk in the Fairy Glen at Rosemarkie.
We will definitely be back.
