Ok now if been home a few days let me give a post dated review. It is in a nice place adjacent the river ancholme. If you are a family that likes an outside Saturday night disco. A BBQ etc then I can imagine a family with young children will enjoy it. If I was to return it would be for a midweek stay. It's definitely a dog and chicken friendly site.
It's a caravan scrap yard! Watch where you're treading! ( I didn't new walking boots as well ) yes you've guessed. Late night noise and kids running around. If you are used to 5 star sites and/or adult only type quiet sites then this isn't for you ( or me ). If benidorm is heaven and Jeremy Kyle is God then his disciples will love it. Enough said

Not been back long but we had a great holiday. All what you need are right there. We went to Scunthorpe indoor market and bought just what we needed meat wise for our barby on the fire and it was great.
I agree that sometimes the loo's are in a bit of a state, but if every one did not make the mess then it would be ok.

Seen too many negative reviews about this site so feel I need to redress the balance. This is a 'party campsite'. There are hundreds of relaxing sites around Britain, but if you want to party with music etc there's only a handful & this is one of them.
The toilet/shower block is always well equipped. The dogs are a nuisance. The owner is down to earth. But at the end of the day, if you want music on & a fire-pit blazing, this is one of the best campsites around.
There's a river beside this site but other than that not much. No pub or shop within walking distance. Make sure you have all the food & drink you need & good tunes to play & you're onto a winner.
We've been today, we've been numerous times before & we'll be going again. Thank you & good night.

Stayed here for a one night stay as a practice because it is close to home and I have never camped before. Their website was good, and I managed to book a pitch through it with no problems. The field was level and nicely mowed.
There were a lot of loose dogs running around and only a few owners were picking up after them. I was totally unprepared for the noisiness of this site, especially after dark. What with several sound systems competing, fireworks, arguments and general partying, we didn't get to sleep until about 4am.
Then the cockerels started! :) All in all it was a nice enough site but if you want a quiet stay or if you have children, I would try somewhere else.

Agree with the previous review this site could be really great but all the dogs roaming about unattended and doing their business every where with no one to clean it up ruined the stay. The policy for the showers if you stay one night, you can't use the showers so I was told. Also they are locked and you have to pay a deposit for the key. The site is in a lovely place not very well signed from the road. Toilets could do with a good clean. Geese and chickens run all over the site, as do the dogs.
Nice walks along the river and the owner is a very rare character, say as you mean and mean as you say, is the best way to describe him. There are limited electric for the pitches but the owner does have splitters with extra long leads. I will not be going back because it needs a lot of cleaning up and could do with a revamp.
Would be a great camp site, but the owner seems happy with how things are. Never went to the cider farm but others said it was very nice, there is nothing else within walking distance. Don't like the no noise after 1am bit, 10pm would be better, but on our stay it was not too bad, but it was a cold Easter weekend, in the height of summer with every one round the open fires and music on, it could be another thing.

Arrived to a very quiet site; not surprising considering the cold easter. The site is level and well set out with a decent size shower block that could have done with a clean. The chap asked us when we arrived if we wanted a fire basket and we agreed. Unfortunately it never arrived but would have been a real treat and would have kept the chill off.
My one lasting memory of this campsite however, is that of the 12 dogs that were left to roam the site. The amount of dog exretia meant that our smallest child couldn't be left alone for 1 minute. Its a shame because with a good clean and tidying up some of the broken boats and cars as well as the dog dirt, this site could be perfect for a weekend at the cider centre across the road.

Been a few times and thought it was great my 7 year old grandson loves it. Reception is smelly and unclean but you're not spending time in there. Staff are friendly and helpful.
There are dogs running around but very friendly and play with kids my grandsons loves them. Its not for people who want a quiet get away but if you like to enjoy your self and have fun and don't mind other people doing the same its the get away for u.
I have read a lot of reviews bad reviews but don't let that stop you its personal preference. And as for the cockerals crowing well that's dew to being in the country side. I will definitely be going again

This is the first time we have used this site having seen it when we popped to Brandy Wharf previously. A last minute idea, it was difficult to book as their email wasn't working and their phone kept cutting off. We arrived to a dirty reception area but the grass and actual site looked clean.
There were many dogs roaming the site but they didn't really bother us. We actually felt sorry for them as many campers were playing tricks and tormenting them so, aside from the campers that don't like dogs, they would probably be safer off site!
The website says 'family site' but inconsiderate campers were playing music until 2am, despite the rule being 1am, and continued to talk/scream and generally make a racket until 5am. In the end, I found the owner who told them to shut up! Then the next tent started. Then the crowing began. Then the sun came out and it was too hot to sleep! Sadly, the fact that there is nobody monitoring site noise meant that we had very little sleep, my young niece went home very tired, as did we, and it spoiled a lovely evening at the pub the night before. Unfortunately, a sign saying nobody staying one night could use the shower block so we went home tired AND dirty!
This could be a lovely site but I would NOT recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet trip or anyone with families! Strictly for party people only!

On arrival my wife and I were both impressed with the site set alongside the River Ancholme in beautiful countryside. The site is well looked after, the grass was cut regularly. We also liked the private shower room which included a wash basin & wc at no extra cost just a £5 deposit.
What we didn't like was the packs of dogs running wildly around the park I think all parks should have strictly dogs on leads rules especially in these days of health & safety. My two cocker spaniels were quite frightened of these dogs as they were attacked by them.
Not a campsite to bring small children. If you like loud pop music and you don't need much sleep this is the campsite for you. I love loud heavy rock music But I would not play it all day and night annoying people! It also came from more than one source complete with flashing lights.
I also didn't like the cockerels crowing in the middle of the night one was even outside our tent.
I will not visit this site again.

The reception area was dirty and very smelly. The owners are friendly enough. The dogs run free all over including the dogs owned by the campers. There was endless fighting between the dogs and no one cleaning up the mess
The music went on for hours and hours and different groups seem to be competing for who could make the most noise.
No soap or paper towels in the toilets and to keep everything clean would have meant hourly cleaning !
The only plus point was the fire pit and the man coming round on his truck with wood to buy. Even this service is not enough to ever make us consider coming back.
