As a group of 18 we have just returned from a weekend at Brandy Wharf. After reading the reviews, we were a bit apprehensive as to whether we had made the right decision or not.
As mentioned in other reviews, the reception area, is not the cleanest and does smell a bit - but the owners were friendly enough.
At first we were a little disappointed with the amount of room allocated for 7 tents, but once we got set up, had a nice cosy little camp.
As we were setting up, another campers dog, did come and leave a deposit right next to us, but he did come and clean it up. There were a few dogs wondering about, but this didn't affect or us or bother us too much.
The Toilets were cleaned daily, and well stocked with toilet roll in the mornings. The shower blocks were clean and warm, if you got up and early, but if you left it a bit late, some other campers did leave them in a bit of a mess.
We were a little disappointed, as the play area for the children, was non existent, but there were plenty of bikes on site for the children to borrow free of charge.
As a large group we do take our own entertainment and games, and there were other large groups there too. Some joined in with our games, which was great.
The noise level was high until 1am, which is the curfew, then all music and shouting stopped.
The fire pits are a nice touch, and worth getting.
On the hole a laid back site ideal for groups and people who want to have fun and enjoy themselves - wouldn't recommend if you are after a quiet weekend.
We enjoyed it and will be returning next year.

I arrived at brandy wharf campsite with my fiance and 2 friends on a Friday lunchtime and we stayed 2 nights and travelled home on Sunday morning. On a whole we had a fun weekend and had plenty to drink.
We visited the cider centre which is just a 5 minute walk up the road, the cider was cheap but the food menu was expensive for the quality.
On the campsite there was a toilet block and shower rooms which were basic but clean enough. The owners seemed nice enough.
The downfalls for me were that there wasn't much to do in the way of activities, it was very very noisy all the time due to so many animals including, very noisy geese, chickens, cockerel, ducks, cats, and loads of dogs.
Also people had their music blasting out until 1 in the morning which was annoying. There was poo all over the grass and people had left rubbish and cider cups everywhere which attracted an unbelievable amount of vicious wasps which resulted in my friend being stung.
The river was nice to look at but there was nothing to do there. No swimming, no fishing, nothing! There was a couple of old pedalos that were available to rent for 1 hour for a £30 deposit and £10 to pay. Very overpriced I thought!
This campsite would definitely be for you if you just want to play music and drink and be merry for the duration of your stay. I wouldn't really recommend it as a family campsite

Just got back from a fantastic weekend at Brandy Wharf, there were seven touring caravans and a tent,
The site owner is very friendly and makes you feel at home it is a very clean site,
The showers are clean, there is a few dogs around but they are all friendly too,
We had loads of fun and cant wait for our next visit, if you don't like having fun and or other people having fun, don't go!
While we were there we visited the cider centre which is a ten minute walk away

Me and my family have just returned with our touring caravan from the end of May Bank Hol weekend and I can honestly say this was the worst site I have ever been to!
It was full of loud people who had to much to drink with music blearing out all day and night until about 3 in the morning!
There was litter everywhere, the toilets/showers were unclean and the site was overcrowded with tents and caravans dangerously close to one another!
There were loose dogs roaming about, chickens, etc and poo everywhere not great for playing children! I also thought the owners needed to go on a customer service course to! definitely wont be going here again!

We booked 2 nights here and stayed a reluctant 1 night with almost a full refund.
On arrival were told it was 'like a shoehorn in there'. That was an under statement. We were directed into the middle of a pile of tents, dog poo and beer cans.
Night fall. In the middle of a war zone. Fire pits managed by drunken adults, their children climbing on rubbish bins and rolling them into tents and nearby vans/motorhomes. Dogs roaming, doing their business wherever it fell and our dog was shaking with fear of the noise. It was like being in the middle of a rave.
Noise finally stopped at 2. 30am after a truck found it's way to the middle of the site with a boat 'borrowed' from somewhere, laden with lights which clearly triggered the volume on the music.
The toilets were guarded by geese, now I can understand as the area outside was showered with rubbish and vomit, not left by the geese.
It was the worst night ever experienced on a camp site, the clips on the website really do not offer a true picture as to what life could be like for you here. I felt that the owners were a little intimidated by their guests which is a shame as it could be a really nice place to relax.
Will not be re-visiting.

Friendly helpful warden, great site, and it was a peaceful weekend in gorgeous weather. There were no big parties going on, but it was all very friendly. There were some roaming dogs, but they were no harm at all - just friendly and playful, but you have to look out for dog much on the ground. Electric hookup and water all fine. We were with friends in another unit, and we could pick where ever we wanted. Playground is just a pair of swings which were a bit big for our 4 year old, but he could run around, and went to see all the other exciting sights on-site. (they do have old canoes available for rent, and from Easter they do boat trips - the river is right beside the site.)
The toilets were a bit messy on Friday night, and didn't appear to have had any attention through Saturday, but on Sunday morning, they were nice and clean again with toilet paper replenished. In the men's there were only adult sized toilets, no low ones for little people, but the fabric of the toilet block was in good condition.
The pub nearby serves great food and friendly helpful staff. Well worth a visit before heading home at the end of the weekend.
Overall, I'd certainly go back again - it was good value for money!

Once again the bonfire night at the Brandy Wharf Leisure Park was outstanding. Amazing Firework Display along the river bank. Marquees with barbecues and an array of food. Karaoke and Music for the kids or 'Adults' Caravans and Tents with Campfires alight.
Monitored Bonfire, with a Party Atmosphere Second to None. Another Fantastic Event.

We have just spent a weekend here and on the whole had a great time.
The site is very relaxed and has nice clean toilets and showers, £5 deposit for shower key.
We had chickens, geese, ducks and dogs around the tent but they did not cause us problems.
The owner is pleasant and very helpful and delivered us a fire pit with a bag of logs for £3, Lovely for toasting marshmallows !
Our only problem was the dog mess ! We had to clean some up before pitching our tent and also the kids did not look where they were going so we had shoes to clean.
There was only us silly enough to camp on a wet weekend so as there was no others campers it was nice and quiet.
All in all a good time was had by all

Our First visit to Brandy Wharf leisure park was in July 2010, our first and enduring impression is of a well laid out, clean and relaxed site. Godfrey and Joan are 'salt of the earth' people who are tirelessly helpful. The site has a distinct 'chilled' aura and may not be to the taste of 'anal' or pretentious caravaners who live to impress others. A short walk along the road, across the bridge and river brings you to Brandy Wharf Cider House, a friendly place steeped in history which enjoys a lively weekend scene but beer drinkers take heed, a clue lies in its name. It's a cider house, lager drinkers may be slightly relieved to know they sell one mass produced lager but everything else stems from the fruit of the apple and pear tree with a few notable wines to tempt more discerning tastes. Brandy Wharf Leisure Park is perfect for getting away from it all and just relaxing.

Easily found a few miles off the A15 and down quiet country lanes. It is in the corner of a bend and at first we did not spot the sign, so we drove past, but no worries there and we turned around in the pub opposite, which happened to be the Cider Farm (currently closed for refurb), however we stopped and bought a few bottles of cider.
We then turned back, went over the bridge and turned right into the site. We followed the driveway in and stopped at reception and we met by the friendly owners, who checked us in quickly, took our money and showed us the site and facilities. We ordered a fire pit and a bag of logs for £3 and off we went. They delivered the fire pit and logs while we set up, perfect service.
The site was empty, but us and we were offered any pitch we like, we chose the far field and went on pitches 7 and 8. £15 per night for the pitch for all of us, dog, awning, ehu, showers and toilets etc. Great value. The pitches were dead flat and had some duck poo on them, but hey ho, you are camped next to the canal.
This is a farm site and has dogs roaming ( one did not take a fancy to my dog, but they went away when told ) chickens, roosters, cockerals and more. As the site was empty our dog was allowed to run free which was great for her.
There are two toilet blocks, the one nearest the site entrance is not that nice, but does the job, although there was no running water in the gents. The main block in the camping field was fine, clean and very usable. There are key operated showers (£5 deposit) and each shower room has a sink, mirror and toilet. There is also a baby change are in this block too.
The nearby village of Kirton in Lindsey was lovely and had a great variety of shops from a Co Op, to a chemist, butchers, souvenir shop, and so many more. Banks there too to get your cash. This is about 4 miles from the site.
Walks aplenty from the site along the canal path, so plenty of distance to go if this is your thing. The pub across the road serves lunch and dinner and we ate there on one night and provided good food at reasonable prices. Plenty of lovely ciders on draft too.
