Site is A1, toilet block is now up and running and is excellent apart from the saloon doors on the cubicles which I believe are of a temporary thing but not 100% sure.
Showers where good and hot and pitches are very flat indeed.
Music going on till around 12-1am at no cost to the campers but didn't bother us at all nice to have sites where you don't have to be in bed by 1030pm and quiet.
Dog friendly site but a little too friendly as dogs are roaming around the site and doing their business with no sign of their owners cleaning up (not all dog owners are like it I must point out)the good thing was the site owner did go around cleaning up which I thought was a cheek as the dog owners should do it themselves and not leave it up to the site to do the job he has to get a big thumbs up on that.
Cider centre across the road which did wicked stuff enough to blow your head off.
park on site only small but amused the kids, they also put up a bouncy castle for the kids at no extra cost to the campers which I thought was excellent.
One of the best sites we have been to for entertainment This is a site we WILL be going back too sooner rather than later and at £10 a night inc ehu what a bargain.
Keep up the excellent work Brandy warf.A++++

We stayed in a touring caravan at the site with our children for an Easter break. There were plenty other children there for the kids to play with. The  campers we met were all friendly people, and helpful to us newbies, as I hadn't a clue how to put my awning up, other campers rallied round to sort it for me!  All my kids spent many happy hours playing with new best friends and bike riding.
I found the owners and staff all to be extremely friendly and genuine, they made us feel very welcome and special.
The kids were delighted by the parks several pet dogs ( friendly ) , cool for the kids to play ball games with.
There were numerous chickens, ducks and geese wandering around, which was lovely to see. We were able to purchase fresh eggs for £1 a dozen.  The aviary was nice , and they are building a new bigger one at the minute.
We went walking on the well trimmed grass at the riverbank, the view was serene and so relaxing with plenty of boats moored up. A short walk away across the river is the brandy wharf pub, which we all walked over to.
At night we sat outside our caravan with a burning barrel and good supply of wood for just £2.50, which was great. They hadn't quite finished the fancy new toilet block when we stayed, but were working flat out to finish it off ( they were trying to get it finished off in time for Easter).
There is a cafe and apparently entertainment on site, but it hadn't opened when we stayed, as we stayed just before Easter and we were very lucky to get in at all, as the park had been booked solid for months for the Easter weekend itself. When it was time for us to leave, the park was getting filled up fast.
Locally, there is a shop in the nearby village of Waddingham (opens til about 6pm I believe) which was handy for all the essentials we had forgotten to bring.
Yes! I will definitely be going again- it was both a great place to stay and was cheap (£10 a night), and very enjoyable. We came home exhausted from the fun, and pleasantly had not needed to spent any money whilst away!

We stayed here for two nights on Sunday and Monday. The Campsite was very boggy and the owner (helpful) sited us on temporary hard ground.

We paid 10 pounds per night for two adults, and two children with electricity, so the price was right!

The other caravanners were friendly, as was the owner. Brandy Wharf Cider centre seemed to be shut, in February :-(
The site is fairly remote, so you will have to drive to get anywhere like shops, walks, pubs, etc.

The only thing that let the site down was the old toilet block, it was really dilapidated and run down, though stocked with new toilet rolls. There is, as mentioned in previous reviews a new toilet block under construction, which will be lovely when completed. But for now, you could consider the site "own san essential".

Had a great weekend here, lots of parties etc going on with music playing till late ,so if its peace and quiet you want dont go in the height of summer. The toilet block was a little poor and dirty but could cope with it for 2 nights. On the plus side they having a new one built for Easter 2007 this should really improve the site.

The owner hires you burning bins with logs if you want them. All in all a good atmosphere and will return

Really lovely site next to the river.  Toilet facilities very basic but new block under construction. Well managed by the owners who are all wonderfully interesting people. Mid-August and the site was very busy, loads of dogs and children who were all very well behaved and very entertaining at times.  An exceptionally friendly site.  We were there four days and met some really interesting  people who added to the enjoyment of our holiday. The site can only be explained as "a breath of fresh air" Even the dogs enjoyed it !

We first visited this campsite 4 years ago, there was a whole group of us (family & friends) and we were made very welcome by the owners Godfrey & Joan.  As already stated in previous posts, the toilet amenities are basic but clean, however they are in the process of erecting a brand new log cabin type toilet / shower block. They have recently added a slipway onto the River Ancholme which is great for launching boats etc.,
Yes the place can become noisy on a weekend (I probably make most of it) But it is all in good fun and Godfrey has a strict policy for turning music off after 1am.
We have made some great friends along the way, we do visit other sites too, but always compare them to Brandy Wharf, and I have to say Brandy Wharf wins every time for us.  They are very dog friendly too.  The camp site is kept very clean and tidy and very pleasing to the eye.  You can not beat a lovely summers eve outside with a burning bin, good bottle of wine and great company to while away the hours.  Yes a very relaxing time indeed.

A wonderful campsite full of character and characters.  Some campsites that I have visited have great facilities but feel a bit like boot camps.  Not this one.  The facilities are adequate with a small toilet block and one shower (delivering piping hot water once you can work out the controls!). What really makes this site stand out is the friendly atmosphere of the place.  Godfrey, the owner, is a very laid-back, generous and friendly guy.  You will know that you are in the land of the Vikings when you first see him!  The site is situated next to the Brandy Wharf Cider Centre so don't expect this to be a quiet site at weekends.  However, if you come here with an easy-going frame of mind then you will love it.  There is an extensive aviary here which the children will delight in visiting.  You will leave here with new friends and lasting memories.

Two families(7 kids)went for the weekend 23 Sept, racing at Market Rasen 15 miles away. A bit of fishing, and a general "chill out". The site was extremely tidy and the facilities basic but clean. The warden was very friendly ,helpful and pleasantly eccentric (providing 3 ball retrieving dogs, which kept the kids quiet for ages). The river was full of easy to catch perch and roach (quiet kids!) and the cider farm only 5 minutes walk away (less than quiet adults!!). The warden provided braziers and wood for burning (£2 a big bag) which made a pleasant evening. Splendid. Roll on next year!

 March 2005
we went for easter and boy was it cold in the tents. The site is very basic with a shower and toilet block, it is quite noisy on a night with the young campers, this didn't cause us any problems. The cider centre is a 5 minute walk - which does lovely food with a cracking open fire to warm your toes on. There is a huge market/car boot about a 510 minute drive away on a sunday which we found enjoyable. All in all at £4 per adult per night very good.
