Here we go again, Had yet another fab 2 weeks at Greenwoods, the weather this year was the best we have known in this area and we made the most of every minute on site and when visiting local places, Greenwoods has become our home from home and the owner is a true friend and nothing is ever to much trouble for him. We will be returning again in July 2014 and are already looking forward to it. A small shop has now opened just down the road from the site which saves going all the way into Fakenham if you only need a few bits or the daily paper. My wife and I treasure our walks with our dog across the fields adjacent to the site where all you hear is the sound of bird song. We have spent many happy hours on this site and intend to spend many more in the future.

Just got back from Greenwoods after a bank-holiday weekend break with my wife and son (6). Had a great time and the site was lovely, we'll definitely be going back.
A personal welcome by the owner, was very warmly received, as was a spot of help with levelling up. The site slopes gently so you are advised to bring one levelling ramp.
Pitching was a doddle, the ground was perfect and we were able to peg out our awning with no fuss or bent pegs at all.
The shower/toilet block were well kept and clean, and the showers (free) were hot and powerful. Plentiful water and hookup points.
We used it as a base from which to have days out. There is nothing to do on the site itself so families looking for a site where the kids can run around unsupervised and had best look elsewhere. If your children are well behaved and can entertain themselves within the confines of your own pitch then you'll have no problem here.
Phone reception on Orange/T-mobile was good, data signal flipped between H (fast) and G (very slow) but always strong for calls and texts.
We ate one night at the nearby Sculthorpe Mill. The food was okay but slightly overpriced in our opinion. Plenty of other local pubs to try mind you. Tesco and Morrisons in nearby Fakenham can supply all of your shopping needs, and there's a B&Q if you run out of gas.
We'll definitely be going back.

Just returned from a splendid 8 day break here.
As previously mentioned, the owner is incredibly helpful and how all site owners should be. Attentive, welcoming, good local knowledge etc, and always available.
Perfect small site for anyone who wants to be away from the crowds. Basic site with immaculate toilet facilities, 16a hook up and generous size pitches.
Would recommend to anyone.

Spent another 2 weeks at Greenwoods June/July 2012, this was our third year at this site and I really can't find a bad word to say about it, considering the amount of rain there has been this year the ground has stayed excellent and because the site has a slight slope the water runs off really well so no problems at all, the site owner Mike has become a great friend and nothing is ever to much trouble for this guy, he is a real gem, showers etc are clean and there is always plenty of hot water, Kitchen area is also good and there is a very large fridge for use by campers at no cost. The main reason we like this site so much is that it is set back off the main road and is very secure and we always feel safe in the knowledge that our belongings are cared for when out on local trips. The site is well situated and is within easy reach of several local beaches most of which are dog friendly thank goodness. Favourite places to visit are Sheringham with its fantastic steam railway and shops, Wells next the sea has a fantastic beach but watch the fast running tide, and the beach at old Hunstanton is vast our dog loves it. Kings Lynn is great for shopping and if you fancy a trip out Norwich and Great Yarmouth are not that far away. We will be going back to Greenwoods again next June for our usual 2 weeks, we have met some lovely people on this site and hope to meet up with them again. Another point worth mentioning is the size of the pitches at Greenwoods, they are massive and all have electric hook up. Happy Camping, John C

We have just returned from a 2 week stay on this great campsite. We had a brilliant time. Depite the weather. Mike, the owner, was so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable, both about the local area and the latest weather reports. So important as the weather was pretty damp! The slight slope meant that the field was well drained but the slope was not enough to worry anyone.
The facilities were spotlessly clean, at whatever time of day (or night ) we visited. The kitchen area for washing up also had a huge fridge freezer which was invaluable.
There is a good bus service from the road only a short walk away. Travelling one way you can reach Kings Lynn, a great historical town, and the other way is a short trip to Fakenham. This bus then travels straight through to Norwich with a whole city to go at. Fakenham itself is a pleasant, small market town with a large Tesco supermarket which is easily reached from the site.
Opposite Tesco is a decent fish and chip shop and there is 3 hours free parking in Tesco carpark so plenty of time to look round the town and have a bite to eat too. Finally, of course there is the coast hopper bus which you can get off and on all over the North Norflk coast.
The site is about 7 miles from Walsingham, a lovely peaceful place full of history and a famous place of pilgrimage for more than 1, 000 years.
We loved the site and will certainly be back.

Have just returned from a 10 night/11 day holiday on this site and would recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing and peaceful holiday. The shower block was clean (gents) each time I used it and never had to wait for any of the facilities, allays hot water and loo paper. My only little complaint was that in the first shower there was only somewhere to put your soap, nowhere for shampoo and facecloth. In the second shower the tray for holding the soap was broken. In fairness to the owner I did not voice my complaint, but when cleaning the showers it must be obvious that there is very little or no space for toiletries.
The site is within easy reach for Fakenham where you can buy all you would need in the way of everyday supplies. There are a couple of fisheries close by so take your tackle lads. To keep the wife happy there is Sandringham £19 for the two of us but as it took three and a half hours to see I would consider it a fair price. Pot of tea for one £1-80p so for two £3-60p, no you can't have any cake love I am now skint. Sheringham was nice as was Wells. A must visit is Cromer and the Henry Blogg lifeboat museum, warning don't rush this visit there are plenty of facts about this hero and when you leave you will be in awe of this man. A very pleasant holiday on a well run site with only one very small complaint.

We came six years ago and loved it so much that we retuned with all of the family.
A very clean and well kept site. Mike gives an exceptional service. Our first night was minus 4 degrees & he was coming out checking the water taps every 40 mins throughout the night. He is so dedicated.
Easter Sunday he was delivering chocolate eggs to everyone on the site, he certainly goes that extra mile.
Would definitely come again!
Hunstanton promenade was a disappointment. Sealife was a complete rip off with the entry prices for families. The fair rides were two quid a pop. It's no wonder that people don't do British holidays anymore!
No complaints about the campsite though, that was first class.

Very well run and peaceful site (apart from the odd evening when the RAF come out to play).
Mike was very helpful and made sure we were looked after and gave us some good advice on places to visit and eat in the local area.
The site is well located and its easy to reach all the main attractions in North Norfolk.
The toilet block was clean and well maintained but the water pressure wasn't the best so showers were a bit low powered. Our highlight was a large fridge-freezer which meant we could have a cold beer when we got back each night and fresh fruit juice in the morning (we had to supply our own beer and juice ;o)
If you are looking for a small site where you can chill out and take it easy this site is for you.
We would be happy to go back and will do next time we head to Norfolk.
PS the campsite does have rules but what campsite doesn't

What can I say? A great little camp site! We chose it mostly based on the reviews on this website, and we wanted to meet the legendary Mike (camp site owner)! And he really is a great guy, very welcoming and can't do enough to help you! He even offered to help up pitch the tent! Once you are all set up he gives you maps and info on things to do in the surrounding area, which is great!
It's a small site, with not too many pitches, and each pitch has plenty of space for your tent and a car. You're not climbing over other people's tents to get to yours! The site is very well looked after!
There is a toilet and shower block, which is basic, but clean and just what you need. The showers are also free, which is a bonus. There is also an area for washing up, with a fridge and freezer. There is also a drinking water tap in the middle of the camp site, which is always handy.
While we were there we were lucky enough not to have any aircraft flying overhead, but Mike did warn us that sometimes they do fly over for training.
I think you would need a car to get around the local area. But there are plenty of opportunities for walking around the area, with beautiful scenery!
We would definitely return to this camp site again, it's definitely value for money and the customer service was fantastic. Thanks Mike!

What a great site. Being seasoned campers in our old jalopy trailer tent we've visited a few!
The owner/manager is very attentive. Helpful on arrival, offering to help pitch up, gives info on the local area, very nice chap.
The pitches are very spacious and the site is well laid out and lovely and clean if a little windy! The facilities were excellent, always well stocked and clean and the showers are FREE!
We personally think the 'rules' were good and fair and Mike makes sure they are stuck to.
The area is lovely, lots of varying types of attractions all within a reasonable distance. We ate at the Sculthorpe Mill, approx 2 miles away which was very reasonably priced, delicious food in a fabulous location. There is also a cafe across the nearby main road that does a very reasonable breakfast - only a 15 minute walk away. There is a well known supermarket about a 15 minute drive away on the outskirts of Fakenham with a garage. We didn't really like Fakenham itself because they have parking issues!
We will definitely be going back next year as there is still plenty more for us to discover and would recommend to family and friends.
