This is our 5th visit over the last 3/4 yrs and we have always had a great time (see other reviews).

We booked in as normal with a few other familys and stayed in the top corner of the tent field as always.

Has a great time apart from a issue with the owner. The kids wanted to use the pool (26/8) and we asked the gent with grey hair (caretaker) if he could open the pool as it was closed as it had been raining, It was about 6:30 / 7:00 pm. He said yes and would open it for the kids. We went down to the pool and there were other kids in there (parents were there). My kids got in and started to play. The gent with black hair and a lady with white hair (owners I believe), came along and asked the kids what there were doing, I told him they were with us and the other gent said we could use the pool and just opened it. The gent was very rude telling the kids to get out and so was the lady. I tried to explain but all he said was 'I KNOW THERE SOMETHING GOING ON!'. We tried to explain but he was having none of it. My partner whos birthday it was was very upset and all the kids were upset. I had to walk away as I was getting cross. It put a dampner on our stay here. As I said before this is a great site for family and I understand there are rules. But if they want people to carry on coming here, these people need to not try run it like a prison camp boss.

Found this place by chance while looking around Brecon for a good site. £25 for hard standing and electric hook up was a good price. Small Swimming pool on site which was an added bonus. Pub next door plus a texaco garage for basic supplies. Showers / toilets were clean and great. Owner was very friendly. A small park on site and children were allowed to ride bikes. Great base for visiting local areas. The pitches were very close but didn't really cause an issue and would have liked a few more places to walk to. We will deff stay again and next time take our swimming gear !

The tourer field was terraced which meant you were surrounded by caravans on all sides. There are a lot of people who site their vans here all year round and so there is a bit of a community going on there. When we visited, a lot of the grassed areas was new turf which hadn't had a chance to knit together. The hardstandings, which at first looked like tarmac, was in fact loose sticky black chippings. We had a problem in that we had to cut a corner to get to our allocated pitch and this meant that the earth and chippings stuck to my caravan tyre and clogged up my motor-mover. The toilet block was 'ok' with some of the toilets and showers permanently out of action through the weekend. There was work going on with the washing-up area being extended. There were not many taps for getting water on the field and the pressure was extremely low. You couldn't really walk anywhere from the site as the main road is quite dangerous. OK for a base to discover the local area by car or bike though. For a view of the Beacons, you had to be pitched at the very top of the field.

Just got back from a long weekend at this site, What can you say far from 4 star more like 2 star have been to better campsites with no stars, The showers could be warmer, Not enough for the size of the place toilets OK again could do with another shower/toilet block. Very busy site noise ok at night, If your kids don't like dogs don't go to this site as there were lots of then almost all of then on leads, No dogs braking which was good, To sum it up Lots of better sites for your money.

Just got back from 3 great nights at this park. Very clean and tidy, excellent views of the Brecon Beacons from the top of the tent field. My 7 year old boy had great fun playing with the other children in the park and he even went in the pool. Nights were really cold but the days brilliant sunshine. Went on the canal boat trip from Brecon down to the aqueduct over the Usk and back, very relaxing. Next day was in the Beacons on the 4 waterfall trail, peace and quiet near the rivers and waterfalls. Site had good hot showers which was needed after a cold night in a tent toilets always clean. Had to ask for a dongle to get back in the park without bothering the warden, this was free.

Went to this site on the bank holiday weekend, never been there before so decided here firstly because of the price (£28 per night for 3 adults + 2 children) and secondly because of the previous reviews.

The gentleman I spoke to was really pleasant and was quite happy to show me to my pitch and give me the choice where to go and apart from the odd hello and how's your stay he didn't bother us but was helpful to point me in directions for other things we wanted to do.

The site is a good size site with a slight slope but nothing to bad, the toilet/shower facilities are spotless and quite a size too. The shower may on occasion lose power but that's just due to me showering the same time as everyone else so it's to be expected but still only a minor quibble.

All in all I will definitely go there again and would recommend it to others.

Quiet campsite swimming pool was closed but it was October, showers, toilet exceptionally clean, pup/restaurant friendly and the food good. Central to the breacons going again this year cant wait.

The petrol station is next door and has a small shop, very handy. Brecon is a place woth visiting, has a beautiful church and tearoom.

We visited the welsh caves ideal for children but also adults who can turn the clocks back and be kids themselves fun.

We have been coming back to this site for 2 weeks every August since we first discovered it back in 2003. It is situated in idyllic surroundings with fabulous views of the Brecon Beacons.

The site owners are very friendly and helpful and keep the grounds and the facilities in an excellent condition. The toilets and shower blocks are clean and checked regularly and the pool and play park are very popular with children and also well maintained.

The restaurant provides a good range of reasonably priced meals and the pub is relaxed and pleasant. The garage shop stocks essential items and it is only a short drive or walk into Brecon where there is Morrisons, the Co-op or Aldi supermarkets and a range of local butchers, bakers, take aways and restaurants as well as a range of other shops.

Brecon is a beautiful market town with several sites to visit including the canal, riverside walk, military museum, cathedral and antique market.

I can not speak highly enough of this campsite, it is so peaceful and relaxing and set in truly beautiful countryside. I would strongly recommend Bishops Meadow. Except that I don't really want to share this wonderful gem with anyone else!

Spent 2 nights at this lovely site for a try and decided to go back for another 5 nights two weeks later (First time in land for camping always been to sea resorts (12 yrs). )

Plenty of space while we were there only 7 tents in a feild. (Was getting busy but it was bank hol week as all sites are busy on the weekend) Toilets, showers washing up area all nice and clean (free hot water). Site itself was spotless. Big plus was the swimming pool, great for the kids bit cold for the adults (age thing I think!) Small play park for kids which was great for them meeting new friends. Brill views of the brecons with or without glass of wine!. Staff all nice and helpful. There is a garage outside the campsite which is great for bits and pieces also sell gas, barbecue bricks all at good prices. Morrison/aldi are just one mile down the road, so no need to fill car up with food. Plenty to do within the area.

Kids loved it cannot wait to go ago same here.

Roll on next year.

We stayed for 5 nights in August - tent pitch with electrical hook up. This is a very well presented campsite in a good locartion for exploring the beacons. Our stay was slightly ruined by the wind/rain and noisy neighbours (we did go in school holidays!).

Good Points:

- Very well presented site.

- Friendly owners. We were given the bathroom key (to use the bathfor our infant son) for the week without asking which was nice.

- Excellent views of the Brecons.

- Pool area is very nice - we did use the pool once despite the bad weather.

- Washing up area is excellent.

Bad Points:

- Although there are 2 toilet/shower blocks I didn't think there were enough toilets for the size of the site - saying that I never had to wait!

- The dog walk was only a very short length and there wasn't anywhere that we found immediately off the site to let dogs off lead for a quick morning / evening walk.

- The location of the site means that you do need to get into the car to go almost anywhere of site, there are no real opportunities for any nice walks straight from the site.

Overall, this makes a good base for exploring the beacons although we prefer sites where I don't have to use the car quite so much.
