I have just returned from a very good long weekend here.
The site is easy to find and we warmly greeted at the gate. The facilities were excellent and even though the site was busy, it was not crowded.
The pool is a decent size, although a little cold. There is no life guard at the pool although the owner keeps an eye on regular drives thought the site. The kids play area is limited but I lost my 2 there for a good many hours. (from the main field, most of the pitches have a clear view to keep and eye on the kids.) There is a huge field next to the site used by tents without power. This is fantastic for a walk or for the kids to have a run around.
Brecon town is 1.2 miles which can be walked easily by following the road (no foot path so take care). Until a lane for forge bridge. Then follow lane to the bottom and follow the river path into the town.
The town of Brecon has a lots to see. Try not to miss the Cathedral and the Markets. Friday is a market day.
We had a huge pitch at the top of the main field. Stunning views over the valley to the mountains beyond. The RAF did a few flypasts with the helicopters, much to the delight of the kids.
There is a laundry, two shower / toilet blocks within a very short distance. Great washing up facilities.
This is a great personal site which I will most definitely use again. Only drawback is the pool really should have someone keeping more of an eye on the behaviour of some kids, and the road to Brecon lacks a footpath for the beginning part so walking in can be hairy (although I'm sure there must be an alternative route behind the site and through the fields.)

A very clean and well kept site with well marked pitches. The toilet / shower block always seemed clean with points for hairdryers etc.
Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a portable DVD player which needed charging and they were very happy to charge it for us somewhere safe.
In the laundry room there is a freezer which is very useful to refreeze icepacks.
There is no shop on site for food/papers but there is a petrol station right next door or Brecon is a 5min drive away where you will find a Morrisons.
We intend to return to this area and would definitely stay at this campsite again.

We visited this site midweek from Tuesday to Wednesday, during the Whitsun Bank Holiday. We had two separate units, and requested that we were pitched together which we were. The site owner was extremely friendly, very relaxed about payment etc, and very helpful.
We were pitched at the bottom of the field, - pitches were flat, and large, but being at the bottom did have a couple of minuses. The first is that the road runs next to the site - it's not a main road, but it is quite fast, and the traffic was usually hearable - but it wasn't too bad, certainly didn't disturb us.
The minus second is that when you come to this part of beautiful Wales you come for the mountains - pitches on most of the field have superb views of the Brecons, but the ones right at the bottom don't!
Don't let my comments put you off though, as the vast majority of pitches don't have these issues. I would recommend you try and get pitched as near to the top as possible - the higher the better the views.
There appeared to be three separate fields, one mostly full of seasonals, one with marked pitches - mostly with with hookups ( this is the field we were on, although we didn't have EHU ), and one which appeared to be for tents only - the furthest away from the facilities etc, but possibly the best in terms of being able to pitch where you like, and to make the most of the views.
The toilet and shower facilities were immaculate, always very clean, and there was always hot water. The showers are the push button type, but each press lasts quite long, compared with some! There were water points, and a clean outside washing up area. Someone has mentioned the rubbish - whilst we were there, there were three very large wheelie bins at all times, which more than coped!
There is a swimming pool, which is fairly small, but the kids loved absolutely loved it, and it was a godsend on the one day the sunshine actually came out!
The site also has a bar and restaurant, which are situated a few minutes walk from the main pitching areas - far enough away not to be disturbed at all. We had a meal and some drinks in there one evening, and the food was superb, and the service friendly. There was a Masons meeting happening in the function room, which gave us a bit of a laugh, as they were being very secretive - funny handshakes and all that! They made sure noone could enter their room, and music was turned up during their speeches, to ensure we couldn't hear. We did chuckle.
There is also a petrol station near the site entrance, which proved very handy for getting the old bits and pieces, but be aware it doesn't open much past 6pm - or at least it didn't when we stayed. There are numerous shops in Brecon itself, which is a 5 minute drive away. These include Morrisons, and Aldi, as well as numerous small shops, and plenty of places to eat and drink.
The site is easy to find, and very well placed for the sights and attractions of this part of Wales. All in all I would thoroughly recommend it, with no reservations.

As always the not so good bits.
As always this is our opinion only:
This campsite in the field is not level. You will require levelling blocks and ramps. We were not told this by the campsite so it is marked down for this. When we booked they should tell you that the pitchs are not level so you can come prepared.
The waste bin area at the time of our visit was in dire need of assistance such as a wheelie bin as there wasnt any there and there was a stock pile of rubbish building alongside the fresh water tap. Marked down for this.
The facilities at the time of our stay were having some difficulties with taps playing up not shutting down. During one evening visit some kids were using the soaked floor to skate on !
The showers dont last a long time and again its push button and they could do with being a bit hotter.
Be warned for those with large units. Access to the field is very tight indeed and you may have to ask people to move cars parked on the side of the road ways to get out.
The disabled facilities are not with the main facilities block but further down and this although segregated means rostered times for showers for carers and families.
Access into the site is up a hill to a barrier but you have to stop on the hill to go in and register. Practice your clutch control !
And last note> this site is very noisy at night.
Only one key for the site for the disabled facilities and you had to go and find the people to ask for it.
Good bits:
Pitchs when set up are very big and there are a number of hardstandings but they appeared to have seasonal tourers on them.
There is a separate field for tenting and those not needing the facilities.
The views across towards the black mountians are very nice.
The people on the site (touring and seasonal) were extremely friendly and nice. It was nice to actually be made to feel welcome and people were interested in talking and socialising.
There is an on site swimming pool not deep but requires adult supervision
There is an on site cafe, looked very clean and tidy, reports about the cafe are good. There is a petrol station 200 yards along the road.
It is only a 5 min trip into Brecon. There is a morrisons supermarket there and the town is good to have a walk around.
Overall.
C- from us I am afraid. Room for improvement. Would we go again, not sure. Possible, possible not.

We stayed here for the August bank holiday weekend 07 and will certainly be going back. What a great campsite with amazing views. We arrived on the Friday due to stay until the Monday and were in and pitched up within an hour.
We were given a pitch on the top field with breath taking views of the Brecon Beacons. All of the facilities we re immaculately clean and spotless, the outside pool wasn't that warm although the weather was scorching so it was nice to cool down! All of the staff were polite and friendly and wiling to help out anytime.
All in all I will certainly be going back without a doubt, well worth a 10 in my book :)

We have been to this site three times, but always for the Brecon Jazz Festival, when it is exceptionally busy. The owners cope very efficiently and pleasantly with the large numbers. Pitches are close together, but reasonable, and no choice is given for this particular weekend. The water supply has failed a couple of times, not surprisingly, but with a little foresight it is possible to avoid the peak times for showers etc., and the blocks are attractive and well-maintained. The bus service into Brecon is frequent, and saves parking problems. The nearby garage stocks essentials. We intend sometime to try this site at a 'normal' time, when I feel it would be very pleasant, and a good base for visiting Brecon and the beautiful countryside around. It is a credit to the site that it manages to keep a relaxed atmosphere at this very busy time.

This was our first visit and I would gladly go again. The toilets were recently built and were kept very clean, the owners were friendly and the views, if you were lucky enough to be in the top part of the field, were spectacular. My daughter spent most of the time near the play area and it felt safe enough to let her go exploring with her friends. The only down points at this camp was 1, the swimming pool was not very warm, if fact only my daughter was brave enough to face it, and 2, it can get quite crowded at peak times so would advise to go at quieter times to be able to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the beautiful area.

We recently visited this site and were impressed by the facilities. The loos, swimming pool and access were great. What wasn't so appealing was the noise from the B4602, which borders the southern edge of the camping field and is one of the main routes into Brecon. Cars, lorries and vans sped along this all day and night.

This is a lovely campsite. They have a lovely outdoor heated pool and children's play area - the play area isn't suitable for toddlers. We chose our pitch next to the play area so I could sit outside the tent and watch my son play. The site is very clean and well maintained and the owners were very kind and helpful. You are surrounded by sheep in the adjacent fields. The dog walk is a field full of stingy nettles and sheep, but 5 minute walk from the campsite is a lovely woodland area with a small river which the dog loved. You can walk through to Brecon town and to the Cathedral. There is a large restaurant and takeaway just outside the gate which was very nice. The only shop is the shop at the Texaco garage, which is at the entrance to the site. We really enjoyed our stay here and will be going back.
