We stayed at this site on Aug bank holiday w/end having booked 3 wks previously and requesting adjoining pitches as we were meeting friends for the w/end. We are both families of 4 with young children. On arrival we announced ourselves at the shed and were asked to wait for the buggy man to show us to our pitch. He guided us to the area and told me exactly where to pitch our tent and explained that our friends would pitch on the adjoining area. 2 hours later we had made pretty good job of pitching and moving all our equipment into our large dome tent, we were pleasantly surprised to notice we were on elec hook up pitches. Our friends arrived and we helped them to pitch their tent next to ours as instructed. Within minutes the man on the buggy pulled up to tell us we were on the wrong pitches as we had not paid for elec hook up. Accepting that he had made a mistake we tried to help by offering to pay what ever the extra cost was. This was no good as other people had booked our pitch. I could see where this was leading and out of frustration said that we were not moving as we had spent the best part of 4 hours setting up the 2 tents. He informed me that he was the owner and if we didn't move he would reimburse our site fees and ask us to leave. I suggested that he hold his hand up to his mistake and offer the people who had booked elec some form of apology and recompense on their arrival. Ted's wife then entered the debate and quite obnoxiously told us that we were being "pathetic." This was becoming quite a spectacle now. The owners were not going to compromise and we had no choice but to move due to their incompetence. Luckily their was no shortage of volunteers amongst other campers to help us. The owner came round later and gave us and our friends a £3 bottle of wine for our troubles, having spent most of the day pitching! All said and done we enjoyed our break in a beautiful part of the country despite the first day fiasco. Suggested improvements, more bins, more toilet paper and customer relations training for staff.

This was a lovely site and our first impressions were good. We were shown to our plot and pitched our tent, we were with another family who were pitched next to us. Unfortunately this is where it went very wrong, the owner told us we had been pitched in the wrong spot so we had to move (yes both us and our friends!) as you can imagine it was not good and no amount of reasoning would change the owners mind "move or off". So we moved yes Vango and all to another pitch! Not a good start. This did not spoil our bank holiday weekend we did not allow it to, we enjoyed the lovely views and walks in the local area. We even walked to the top of Pen Y Fan kids and all, two of the party did it in sandals, Respect. Overall the site was great but the house keeper needs to maintain the toilets more often as this can be a nightmare when you have no Loo Role! On another note the owner did bring us a bottle of wine so he must of realised he was in the wrong.

This was our first visit to this site, having stayed at another site in Brecon before. The site is lovely and friendly with excellent shower and toilet block which were kept clean, although my partner said the men's toilets were dirty most of the time. Only 3 sinks to do your washing up in so you might have to queue at peak times (we just washed up later than everyone else!). The entrance to the site is a bit rough as there were up to 3 large buses parked there which is a bit off putting. The clubhouse and restaurant are at the site entrance and look like they could do with a spruce up. The road into the site entrance is quite potholed too. During the week the site was quiet but was manic at the weekend, they were squeezing tents and caravans anywhere they could! The cleaning routine could do with stepping up during busy periods. Lovely views of the mountains. The site is on a slight slope but there were bricks etc around for caravans to level themselves up - if you're in a tent you will have to try and pitch as best you can. The older lady at reception was lovely and very helpful but we witnessed a few altercations with the man who drove round (very fast - you need to watch you dont get your foot ran over when he's about!) on the golf buggy. They do very regular checks of the site which can make you feel like you are being watched. The kids made use of the pool, but beware if you are expecting a heated pool as advertised on their website as it is anything but heated! There's not really anywhere to put your towel and belongings either so they can either get wet poolside or you can hang your towel over the fence/railings. My children aged 3, 5 and 8 enjoyed the park area and played there for hours on end. There is a petrol station next door to the site which sells bread, milk and a few basic groceries - ideal if you're caught short but not cheap. If you have a large tent be sure to mention it to the site when you book as we were on a tiny pitch while other much smaller tents and caravans had a pitch twice the size of ours. It's not far into Brecon from the site which is a lovely market town. The area is stunning, this site is definitely worth a visit. We enjoyed our week at Bishops Meadow and would go back again.

Just returned from a weekend at this site, superb! This was the 2nd visit for us, last year and now this year. Last year we stayed in the bottom field where we were shown where to pitch out tent. There was plenty of room between us and the next tent. This year however we were told that we could choose where we pitched our tent, so we opted for the top field. Absolutely fantastic views over the Brecon beacons. Site was spotless and the owners drove round several times to check everything was ok. Would definitely go back again.

This was a wonderful site enormous pitches, the cleanest toilet and shower block I have ever used and the staff were such nice people. Athough it became very busy at the weekend I still didn't think there were any problems would go back again with no worries.

This is a lovely site with only 1 drawback that I will come to at the end. The camp site is easy to find, virtually flat - at least where we were - and spotlessly clean. The shop in the garage has as much stuff as most camping site shops, including things like gas cylinders. The restaurant sells good food - sit down as well as take away - the latter very good value. The swimming pool is superb - it felt very cold on the first day we went when the temperature outside was more than 20 degrees, and the children (10 and 13) loved it. The staff were very friendly I thought Now the drawback. We had been doing quite 'active' things in the Beacons, and by 9.00 or 10 the children were tired and wanted to go to sleep. As was I. The camp site was noisy until at least 11 and even after then there was a group who decided that playing frisbee was a good idea. I dont know how to solve this - most of the tents and vans were quiet after it got dark, but those who were not were a bit annoying. It would have been different I suppose if we had had a gentler day. I am still coming back to this site - just maybe not on a hot summer weekend.

I stayed at Bishops Meadow on a seasonal pitch bases From March 1st to October 20th 2005. For the first 6-8 weeks everything was fine thereafter the owners attitude changed considerably for the worst it has to be said. On a more positive note the facilities were spot(toilet block, showers, pool, club house and shops lovely) as were the views, with easy access to Brecon town and the surrounding area. Overall a very nice site and location with one downside.

We were a bit surprised at the entrance of this site it looks like a bus service station! There was limited space to pitch the tent, and we had no choice as to where to pitch it, as we were told they where trying to get as many in as they could for the following bank holiday weekend! The whole site is on a slight slope and not level as the site claims them to be. Very noisy at night when it was busy, so be prepared, lots of children and barking dogs!
On the PLUS side of things, the toilet blocks and showers were immaculate, even though they cleaned them at funny times and shut all the loos which at 9am could be a trial with small children. The pool was a hit with the children. There is a VERY basic shop which is not on site but in the Garage next door! There is plenty of hot water and good washing up bays. The staff are very friendly, but will drive around in a golf buggy every 30 minutes! to check on everyone, so we felt a bit watched. The playground was basic and aimed at very small children.
There is loads to do in the surrounding area, we visited dinosaur park and caves, pony treking, haye-on-wye book shops, botanic gardens and big pit all of which where very good. The leisure center just down the road has free swimming for children under 16 and 10 pin bowling. The tourist information site just inside the safeways car park in Brecon , which is 2 minutes from the camp site is a must for any info on events and places to go.There are some great walks around that area.

Lovely site,Friendly owners always ready to chat and help. clean showers and toilets. The new shower block had a problem with the hot water which was fixed whilst we were there, but the older block was fine. There is a fantasticly clean bathroom available for those that don't like showers. Which was very handy for us as my son broke his arm whilst there!Swimming pool was cold, but lots of people in it.Laundrette, and freezer available to freeze ice blocks. Garage shop next door was useful, but Brecon town is only about 1 mile away for shopping.Bar and restaurant next door, all very friendly. Fields for walking, small playground for the kids. WE had a lovely holiday here and the kids thoroughly enjoyed all the new friends they made.

We stayed here for one night in July it is a fantastic site I cannot fault it in any way we were greeted in reception by a lovely older lady who booked us in (only £7 a night one tent +family of four)and asked to wait for someone to site us, a man came to site us within minutes and offered us a choice of two pitches we chose the one nearest the play ground for the children aged 9 + 6. The shower/toilet block is spotlessly clean and looked relatively new there is a outdoor heated pool which even I got in which is something that doesn't happen outdoors in this country in my family. There is a restaurant but it was not exactly cheap camping pub grub so we drove of site and found a pub a few miles away. There is a petrol station next door which is fairly well stocked. The Brecon beacons are amazing and we plan to go for longer in august to explore more the kids cant wait to go back.
