Mainly I'd like to add an update for those concerned about the approach. The first half of the concrete roadway to the site is admittedly a bit tired, but perfectly passable. It seems the owners are aware of this because the second half, closer to the site, is brand new. A generous passing place has also been laid halfway along. I imagine they'll upgrade the other section as and when they're able.
The slight slope on the camping field was not an issue, grass was tidily cut, and the wide-reaching views were gorgeous. Twice while I was there a hot air balloon came over, as the weather was calm and fine. There were young pheasants pottering about the fringe of the belt of trees behind the site early and late, and I heard owls at night.
There are a lot of information leaflets in the washing-up room: places to go, local walks, tourist sites, places to eat etc. I made use of the microwave and kettle, which were very convenient, although whoever used the microwave last could have wiped it out properly. There's also a toaster.
Finally, one for the ladies - sanitary items are not to be flushed down the loos, as they're on a septic tank. This is mentioned on the website, but people might miss it. It would be an idea to take disposal bags with you, as there are none supplied.
I would certainly visit again if I was in the area, though I felt £12 without hook-up was at the top end of what I'd be prepared to pay as a solo camper. Free showers and use of kitchen appliances help to justify that, though.

I cannot recommend this site enough if you like small, clean, quiet & friendly & the peace & wonderful views of surrounding countryside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & fresh eggs for breakfast. Clean & spacious facilities (although only 2 for each sex the site was quiet enough to accommodate). Fabulous & we will definitely be back. Thanks.

We have just spent three delightful days at this campsite and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. On the down side, the road to the site is made of concrete and is hammered by heavy farm machinery and is broken up quite badly in places - not good for motorhomes and caravans. The toilet block is reasonably clean but could do with a deep clean. A glance behind the toilet revealed a lack of regular thorough cleaning. That said I won't let that stop me from coming again. The views, sunsets, sound of bird song were amazing. We found a local pub - The Red Lion which was fantastic and enjoyed a lovely meal there. The surrounding area is lovely with easy access to the National Forest.

I would thoroughly recommend this site, it does have a slight slope in the camping field but not so much as to cause an inconvenience (you don’t roll off your mat at night!). This site is so worth a visit as the view is magnificent, in fact we didn’t bother to eat out in the evenings because we wanted to open up the front of the tent and eat alfresco to enjoy the scenery!
We stayed during the beginning of August and were the only tent in the field until Friday when others arrived, which we loved as we dislike being crowded by loads of other tents. You can pitch basically were you like. The facilities were great, there were 2 large rooms containing a shower and toilet, so plenty of space, but not sure how this would work if lots of other campers? The owners were very friendly and happy to help with any queries.
We stayed 3 nights to visit Alton Tower which is only 20 min drive away, you pass a massive Tesco (Uttoxeter) on the way so easy to buy supplies so no on site shop needed.
If you want an uncomplicated pleasant place to camp Forestside is for you.

My Husband and I have just spend a lovely weekend in one of the camping pods on this site. Being 'tent' campers we were podding just for a change and it was brilliant. The camping pods are very clean and spacious, lovely bonus of having our own picnic table and view over the valley.
The toilets/kitchen area were very clean, and there are now 2 very clean portaloos in place for when the site is busy.
There is a lot of information on things to do, places to eat in the area which is very helpful.
We spent the day at Monkey Forest and Trentham gardens which were only around a 40 minute drive away.
A fantastic experience was having the best curry we have ever had ( The Barn )delivered straight to our camping pod on site!
We only met the owner, she was really nice and friendly. We will definitely be going back. Also on another plus point is that the site stays open through the Winter, we are quite hardy and enjoy winter camping so it's always nice to find another great site that stays open.
The only slight irk we had was the few piles of dog poop that we found around our pod, but this site still gets a 10/10 from me because that is due to the other campers and not the owners
We were very happy also to be in the pod, and not a tent when the crazy thunder, lightening and rain were kicking off on the Friday night, although what an amazing place to watch a storm!

Excellent site, small and not too crowded. Facilities very good, fridges very useful and owners very friendly!lovely view and walks around the area.
Visited several tomes with a group of young children and plenty of room for everyone because, unlike some sites, not too many tents/people are squashed onto the fields. Will return.

Spent the bank holiday weekend here and it's a great little site and has everything we look for in a site
It's only small 10 tents and 5 Hard standing pitches nicely spread out, the are also 2 pods on the site so it's nice and quiet and fair play to the owners as they easily fit more in to make a few extra quid
You are close to Alton towers (13 miles) and Sudburt Hall (2 miles), Uttoxeter is about 5 miles away with a large Tesco and also a cinema/bowling for bad weather days
The facilities are very good with 4 single shower/ toilet rooms and a kitchen area with kettle/toaster/microwave and 2 fridges and a freezer for anyone to use
Only recommendation I would make to the owners is maybe an extra washing up sink and maybe 2 extra toilets for when it's really busy
Will Definitely be back as we love Alton Towers

We spent May bank holiday at this lovely, peaceful site. The views are spectacular, and the site feels very rural and secluded. Our pitch was hard standing and well drained and we felt we had plenty of space. However, it did slope and even with a brick under the front legs and levelling chocks we were still a bit nose down all weekend.
There are two washrooms for women and two for men, each contains a toilet, sink and shower. They were kept spotless all weekend although the site was busy. The only drawback to this set up is that there were no toilets available at busy times - a couple of separate loos would make a big difference.
There's no playground - but the children all played together on the grass with footballs and cricket. The owners also let our daughter in to watch the cows being milked, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
We spent a day at Sudbury Museum of Childhood, which was fab. We also took a picnic to the lovely local park in Draycott in the Clay, next to the Swan pub - it appeared to be a popular thing to do on a sunny bank holiday and both our children happily spent a good couple of hours there playing on the zip wire and climbing frame.
The owners weren't around when we arrived and we paid using the honesty box. It would have been helpful if there was a site map showing us where the grey waste and CDP was. There is a long farm drive from the main road and I'm not too sure what we'd have done if we'd met another caravan half way along. Would definitely go back to this site to go to Alton Towers next year - but will send a runner along that drive to make sure we don't have that problem!

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Forestside Farm. The site is very easy to access and we had no trouble turning round in the farmyard before going to the pitch. We were allowed to choose one of three available pitches, although they did advise that there was one to avoid, as it was quite damp due to the recent downpours. The pitch had fantastic views of the countryside and the site was quiet and peaceful. The hardstanding was big enough for the Caravan and also to park a 4x4 on, with a lawned area to the side. Water was available from a hose on the electric hook up so no long walks with the aqua roll were needed.
The toilet block was exceptionally clean and the kitchen area was very well equipped, a fridge, chest freezer, microwave and toaster were all available. 3 folders made up by the owners provided us with lots of choice of where to wine and dine, as well as activities we could consider and places to visit. A take away from The Barn Indian Restaurant was delivered without quibble to the site and can be strongly recommended.
A circular walk surrounds the site and was extremely easy to follow, other walk maps were available in the kitchen area. This site is handy for many towns, we went to Lichfield and Uttoxeter over the weekend.
Mobile signal was good, however make sure you take an aerial for the tv as there was no way Sky would pick up a signal due to Marchington Cliff being behind the pitch. We will definitely be returning to this lovely site.

Just returned from lovely 2 day break to Forestside Farm. Very reasonable rates for a well maintained site
The paddock where we stayed had wonderful views of surrounding countryside. The cows in the next field were a
Little vocal but that didn't spoil our enjoyment.
Our main reason for staying here was for a visit to Alton Towers, and this was certainly a perfect location for that. It was an easy drive to the Towers. I just wish we had more time to enjoy the site.
The showers/toilets were clean and modern. Our only criticism was the lack of separate toilet to the showers, which led to some queuing. Also the 4 shower rooms could just be unisex, rather than 2 male/2 female.
We didn't try any of the local amenities.
I would certainly like to return to this site, if we were to come this way again.
