Spent August bank holiday at this site. 3 adults and a 3 year old in a tent. Very friendly farm with lots of cows to look at, lovely walks in countryside.
Small site with plenty of space only takes approx 15 units, excellent facilities - toilets, showers, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle. All FOC.
Plenty of information available on local places to visit and eat.
Fantastic views of the countryside only downside the weather. Great days out in Rolliston Forestry centre and Buxton. Would recommend if you want a small quiet site.

Had a fantastic time at this very relaxing and simple camp site.
The site is situated on top of a hill with glorious views across the countryside.
The site is a classic place in which to just pitch up, sit on a chair and enjoy being in the outdoors.
There are no gimmicks, it is just a great location, very quiet and near the wonderful town of Uttoxeter where you can get your supplies.
There is no shop on site and no park so come prepared.
We relaxed as soon as we arrived and thought the site was really clean, not overcrowded and the toilets / showers were cleaned regularly.

We stayed here for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. The owners were very welcoming and chatted with us about the farm and site. There was an electric fence that we chose to pitch next to as we wanted to be as close to the cows and the view as possible. It was not a problem for us as we made the children aware of it and they played sensibly, however another group of campers complained about it after allowing their children to play underneath it. The farmer very kindly moved his whole herd of cows and switched the fence off to accommodate them.
The facilities were excellent and even though there were only two showers and toilets each they never became crowded. The shower was lovely and the bathrooms very clean. The kitchen facility was great with a fridge, freezer, microwave and 2 kettles which were very welcome. It also had lots of useful info about the surrounding area. The views were fantastic and there was plenty of room on the site for the children to play Frisbee or football with a sponge ball.
We had a very nice takeaway from 'The Barn' indian restaurant up the road. Sudbury hall was well worth a visit but would not bother with Tutbury castle, we paid £11 to get in and spent all of 5 minutes there. There was a fishing pond on the site that we wandered down to but did not fish. We also visited Roliston Forestry Centre which was well worth it.
All in all a wonderful site and we will definitely be returning.

We stayed here for one night at the drop of a hat.
The toilets are spotless and nice and roomy each toilet has a shower and a sink in it but only 2 for each gender. Showers were nice and warm and powerful too and free.
There was a kitchen with sink fridge and freezer microwave and kettles. All free.
We had EHU but hadn't figured on the kettles in the kitchen.
We live in the local area so didn't venture out but we did appreciate the view when we could sit outside due to the thunder storm we had, including hail. It was lovely to hear the cows in the fields.
This is going to be a return and we won't be alone next time.
We stayed on our own (kids were in respite) but we will be bringing them here hopefully with other families.

Spent three nights at this site and was very impressed. The pitches are all hard standing and have lovely views down the valley, although this view is slightly spoilt by the fact that from the caravan pitches you are looking at the tents in the field below. The amenity block was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. The kitchen area was also clean and well equipped. There are plenty of nice walks in the area. We visited Sudbury Hall and the Musum of Childhood also the Brewery Museum at Burton which which were all very interesting, We would certainly visit again.

What a great site, lovely views across rolling countryside. Kids loved watching the farmer and the cows in the field. Toilet block was fantastic and clean.
Kitchen area again was fab with fridge, freezer, sink, kettle and microwave etc. Owner's were lovely and very welcoming. Is a lovely small site with a great feel.
My only gripe is we stayed on the bottom field as it was the flattest but the electric fence was an issue as we had very young children with us. Other than that we had a great stay. Will be back.

Situated on a farm on top of a valley with lovely views of countryside, but as very windy awning could not be put up and any tents really suffered as there was nothing to stop the buffeting wind. Access was up an bumpy cracked concrete single track. There was a sign saying to check into farm house first before siting van, bad mistake, we had to do a u-turn on small farm courtyard, managed to hit van on gate!
Site was clean and well presented with two toilets and showers per gender. Indoor washing up facilities were provided together with a fridge, freezer, kettle and microwave and even washing up liquid (though some campers were not very fair about cleaning up any mess they made, not the owners fault)
Kids enjoyed fishing on pond - tickets £5 for day for adults. Major disappointment was that there was no where for the kids to play, you would think that being on a farm, a small area could be made available for kids to kick a ball, or just sit and play, that really spoilt the place for us.
Nearby is Sudbury Hall and we would definitely recommend a visit especially to Museum of Childhood, had a great day out there. After getting groceries, we did not want to venture into Uttoxeter again, though there is a good butchers there. Would not visit again, though if you had no kids, it would be an ideal place to get away from it all. Owners were pleasant though never saw them again after checking in.

Brilliant site, very local to home but with the views you felt like you were miles away; we even experience a calf being born which was truly amazing!
We went as a group, 2 vans and motorhome and two tents, the owner was very accommodating and we all camped together and had plenty of room.
With us only having Friday & Saturday night we decided to 'order in', The Barn Indian restaurant were great and delivered our order to the site. To the caravan in fact! Food was brilliant. On the Saturday a good walk was needed so off to a near by pub in Hanbury, (which does also do food but we didn't eat there).
We use our own facilities however the toilets were really nice and the bathroom heated and the kitchen was brilliant especially as some of our guys didn't have any kit, it made a bit difference.
Uttoxeter is only a short drive and there is a large Tescos there, also other shops and restaurants too.
No park for the kids but plenty of space to play and of course you're really not far from Alton Towers.
Have already booked to go back, this time just the two of us!

Had 5 wonderful days at this campsite and would have stayed longer but for a Caravan Club rally taking over all available spaces - they must know something.
As said in previous reviews there are 5 hardstandings with EHU and water and approximately another 15 sites available without EHU. There is no playground but there were several children on site who were happily playing on the grassed area.
The views and walks from this site are lovely and the facilities are very good.
There are 4 rooms - 2 for ladies, 2 for men - each contains a shower, sink and toilet and are kept very clean.
The washing up area is in another ( warm ) room along with Fridge, Freezer, Microwave, Kettle and Toaster ! All in all some of the best facilities I have come across.
Being based on a farm as its own attractions like the closeness of the animals and the ability to take various walks straight from the campsite. The hedgerows were hung with damsons and blackberries and my wife actually made jam while we were there. Wildlife abounds and deer can be seen within the locality.
The owners are very amiable and approachable and left us to do our own thing.
Plenty in the area to see and do for both couples or families and would recommend this site to anyone.
I for one will be visiting again.

Just returned from a bank holiday visit to this site - we were 1 camper and 3 tents. Chris pitched us all together no problems. Site was probably much busier than usual and pretty much full - but still felt there was loads of room.
The views out from the site were fabulous - quite a way from the road so very peaceful too. No children's play area but several children on site who seemed more than happy to ride bikes and enjoy the space.
There are 5 hard standings for caravans / motorhomes and the rest of the site is grass for tents. The site is on a slight slope but this means everyone gets the views.
There are 2 mens and 2 womens toilet / shower cubicles. Despite site being quite full never had to queue.
We ate at the Barn Indian restaurant at the bottom of the hill. Food was fantastic. Its walkable in 15-20 mins or 5 mins in the car - really worth a visit. No shops that close by so take what you need - we stocked up in Tesco in Uttoxeter approx 4 miles away.
Overall a real gem of a site- we will visit again and would recommend if you want peace and quiet.
