Excellent site - easy to find, shower/wc blocks are very clean and lovely hot showers (if you got in early.) only downside to WC/shower facilities is that the WC's are in with the showers so if people are waiting for the loo they may have to wait a while!
Site was lovely - great views to wake up to and the kids loved the cows etc.
We stayed there coz it was near to alton towers and was an excellent choice!

Just arrived home after a short stay at Forestside Farm. We used the site for a base to visit Alton Towers which was a short twenty minute drive away.
The washing facilities were excellent with ample hot water and we didn't have to wait to use anything once. The provision of a microwave and kettle in the washing up room was a welcome addition. The site had a bit of a slope on it but this helped with the view to the north. The ground was well drained and there was plenty of space.
Uttoxeter could be reached in a ten minute car journey for shops etc and all manner of supplies could be obtained locally. That siad the site was far enough out so as not to be bothered by urban noise, although the wildlife was a little vocal for us townies who are not used to it. On the whole the place was very peaceful.
The owners were very friendly and helpful which is always a big plus.

We only had one night to camp on this occasion and wanted to stay somewhere not too far from home. This campsite was a fantastic choice! The owners were very friendly, the toilet and shower block was immaculate and very luxurious in comparison with many we have previously encountered and the countryside a wonderful setting for relaxing day and a half out of the office. Would definitely recommend to all, we took our 5 year old and he amused himself with creeping up SAS-style on the cows, who says you need a play area?! The site was well placed to visit Sudbury Hall (National Trust).

Spent a weekend with family and we all enjoyed the site.
Site on a slight slope but that did not present too much of a problem. Working farm so lots of cows for the kids to see.
Toilet block excellent - loads of hot water and very clean. Washing up area good again with hot water and information about local restaurants/places to vist.
Friendly owner, very relaxing. Great walks for the dog. Only minor point was that we booked three pitches together (one with electric hookup) and when we got there was not enough room but it got sorted out fairly easily. Loads of space for the children to play cricket/football. IT was lovely sitting eating breakfast looking at the view over the valley.
Would recommend.

Arrived at the site early afternoon and there wasn't anyone about to book-in. But a sign told use to pitch anywhere we wanted and come back and settle up later.
A slight slope to the field which only proved a problem to our 18 month old.
Our car exhaust blew on the way down and when talking to the girl cleaning the shower block she was really helpful in suggesting where to get it fixed.
The children loved the farm, which we were free to wander about to see the horses and cows.
Toilet block consisted of 2 male and 2 female shower rooms which were very clean considering the wet weather the free showers were hot, powerful and a godsend.
We used this site as a base to get to drayton manor, but it was equally close to alton towers.
Will definitely use again.

We spent a night on this campsite and were very impressed with it and thought it provided excellent value for money. The shower block was immaculate and very spacious. On the side of this building was a pot wash room with a fridge, kettle and a microwave and tourist information point. The owners were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.
The site is on a slight slope but this did not provide a problem at all for us. There is plenty of room available for tents whilst it appears only 5 spaces for caravans.
We will definitely return to this site at sometime in the near future.

What a great site - small number (approx 6) of hardstanding places for caravans and motorhomes with electric hookup and a small, sloping tent area which was extended into the next door cow field to give more space for tents.
Extremely picturesque area, nothing dramatic scenery wise - just very pretty English countryside.
Small Farmer's market in nearby Uttoxeter on Saturday morning. Uttoxeter itself is an attractive small market town with all the usual facilities. We had fantastic Victoria Sponge cake at Indulgences Cafe in the centre of town.
The only tiny problem was finding reception to book in - follow your nose towards the main farmhouse, going through an archway to find the main building.
No facilities for kids, but they all loved playing rounders, football, kite flying etc in the cow field.
Highly recommended.

Just returned from a cracking' scorching hot weekend at forestside farm. The site is clean, small & friendly with Fab views over the surrounding meadows & countryside. It's a working dairy farm so think before you pitch. We didn't take this into account & pitched right next to the cow shed. Our 1st night was interrupted by a noisy young bull calling out into the wee small hours of the morning' lol
The site has a recently new toilet/shower block. Very plush & clean, but because there are only 2 female and 2 male toilets (the toilet & shower are combined in one room). Early morning & occasionally at other times of the day, you may find yourself waiting in line for the facilities. You expect a little wait at times, but if the room is being used for a shower / freshen-up etc, then you can be in for a longer 'legs-crossed' wait than you would want. Would be better if they had the loo's / a couple of toilets separate maybe.
We must say though, all in all we thought it was a lovely campsite. Ticked most of our boxes, allowed dogs & didn't kick us of site by 11am the day we were leaving. We will defo be returning again this summer.

Highly recommended, we were looking for a quiet getaway weekend with our two small boys and enjoyed every minute (except for pitching the new tent for the first time).
The owners were great, very helpful and relaxed.
The toilet & shower facilities are new and spotless. The washroom with kettle, microwave and tourist info was really helpful for us.
The camping area was on a slight slope but clean, well drained and easy to pitch on.
The two boys were fascinated by all the farm animals, saw the cows being milked, fed the pony and watched the pheasants strutting about by the camping area.
We really enjoyed the meadow and forest walks in Springtime and then relaxing by the tent taking in the fantastic view. Would come back and bring friends next time.

We've been to this site at 3 times. Very basic site, no electric for tents but still a good clean site. Only a few places for carvans. Owners very friendly and this is a working dairy farm, so you can watch the farmer doing his work. Good views of the dales fishing. The toilet and shower etc. are situated in a old static type carvan, however it provides all you need, a toilet, shower, place to wash dishes, a fridge to keep things cool and freeze if need to. Close to local town etc. Overall a basic site but very friendly and will be going back again.
