We've just returned from a lovely stay at Forestside Farm Campsite. The showers and toilets were immaculate with lots of hot water! Very friendly welcome and a fantastic peek at farming life which we all enjoyed.
The views were beautiful and we especially loved seeing the cows just beyond our campsite pitch and visiting the new calves in the courtyard. And thank you especially to Chris for inviting us to see the cows been milked! A wonderful experience which we hope to repeat again.

We spent a truly magnificent weekend at this site. The weather was sunny and hot (which is always good for camping) but more importantly the views were amazing!
We really liked the fact the site was so small and felt like we had our own private bathrooms! The kitchen area was fantastic - sink, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave, socket and mirror for hairdryers / straighteners.
We tried following a walk across the field to the Dog and Partridge in Marchington but failed and had to come back for the car! However, it was worth it as the food was delicious. There was plenty of it and not too expensive. Highly recommend it but you'll need to book a table as it gets busy.
Only one small niggle about the site that on Sunday morning the toilets had run out of toilet paper. So, next time I'll take my own, which I used to do but never needed but I wished I had here!

We have just returned from Forestside Farm after a weekend stay with some friends.
This is a lovely site, very peaceful (remember it is a working farm with cows), and having an excellent view over the valley.
Booking in was easy, and a cone marked our site making it very simple to find.
Facilities on site were excellent, with the kitchen a nice touch. Toilets were kept immaculate throughout the weekend.
Unlike most we were not there for Alton Towers but a peaceful weekend away, we did visit the Blackbrook Zoological Park which is a hidden gem.
Would definitely recommend.

Great site for location for Alton Towers.
Owners very friendly, and happy to accommodate!
Showers/toilets very clean and never too busy.
Fab kitchen area, with washing up facilities, fridge, freezer, kettle and microwave, this was all included in fee of site.
Lovely views and perfect setting for a family site.
Would highly recommend this site, and look forward to returning.

Fantastic site. We stayed for 3 nights and for two of them were the only tent around. Beautiful views across the fields and my girls loved watching the cows coming back from milking.
Only 20 minutes from Alton Towers this was a great base. With towns close by for supermarkets, petrol, eating out etc.
The facilities were immaculate. 4 shower / toilet rooms; 2 male and 2 female. I could shower two children and myself quite happily with no-one getting wet unless they needed to. Absolutely spotless. The information room / kitchen / washing up area was brilliant. A kettle, microwave and fridge/freezer were available to use as well as the mirror / power socket to dry hair.
There were no extra charges on site, everything was included in the main charge of £5 per adult and £2.50 per child (under fives were free).
I cannot recommend this site highly enough and will definitely use again if we are in the area.

Perfect location for Alton towers and the other attractions in the surrounding area. The site is quiet and well maintained with the toilets / showers and kitchen block being spotless.
For shopping and eating out Uttoxeter is only a 5 minute drive away and there are several nearby pubs that serve meals. All in all I would use this site again and recommend to others.

My partner and I stayed at Forestside Farm with my parents during an extremely wet and windy bank holiday weekend in May. In fact it was the worst weather we have ever camped in!
The site is small and clean which is just the way we like them but whilst the site was well maintained - the grass had just been cut - it would have been great if the grass cuttings had been gathered up as the wet weather meant we always had great clogs of grass on our boots and clothes, although I suppose that is better than wading through knee length grass in wet weather!
The facilities were very well maintained with a fantastic large kitchen room which provided a free microwave, kettle and fridge freezer (and some respite from the weather)!
The toilets and showers were in the same room and as there were only two for each sex we did find we had to queue quite a while in the mornings which literally meant keeping our legs crossed for 20 minutes! That said, the toilet and shower facilities were excellent. Nice and modern with plenty of room and heating and they were kept immaculate with a good supply of toilet roll.
Whilst the surrounding countryside was lovely, I was unfortunately disappointed with the location of the campsite which didn't feel quite as rural as I had expected. I think this was because there was a large mobile phone mast on the site (which kept switching on our remote controlled lantern!) and the rolling countryside views were interrupted by a light industrial park and housing in the distance which was a shame, particularly as it meant on the brief moments when the stars did come out, they couldn't be seen too clearly because of light pollution.
The main reason for our visit to this neck of the woods was for my Dad and other half to drive Lamborghini's and Aston Martins at Stafford Activity Centre and luckily the sun shone for them that morning! The rest of the weekend was slightly marred because of the abyssal weather and we didn't really do too much exploring. We whiled away the evenings playing cards but we did venture to Marchington one night and had a great meal at the Dog and Patridge (although our welcome there was a little on the unfriendly side as we hadn't booked!).
We only saw the owners of the site when we checked in but the welcome was friendly. I have to say the email communication beforehand was extremely good and we were provided with lots of information including local maps, walks, and recommendations of what to do in the area.
This was a nice, small site which was well maintained with excellent bathroom and kitchen facilities but didn't feel quite as 'away from it all' as I like.

A small and very, very quiet campsite near Uttoxeter. The site owner was very welcoming, when we arrived he showed us the best place to pitch as parts of the ground had got a little muddy in the rain. We had a campervan and tent with hookup and pitched on the camping field but there was also hard standings for 5 caravans.
The toilet blocks were clean and looked new. The loo and shower were both in the same room which at most sites would cause long queues but here it wasn't a problem due to the small number of pitches. The owners also provide a small kitchen area, with washing up facilities, microwave, kettle, fridge and freezer. Whilst at the site we visited Alton Towers which is only about 15 minutes away by car.

This was where we went for our very first caravanning experience, and as it's only 5 miles from home it's easy to return! We love this site - the loo blocks are scrupulously clean and there is plenty of hot water for showers and pot washing.
The owners are very friendly and sociable, Chris makes sure he has a wander round to make sure everything is OK. There are 5 hardstanding pitches with EHU for caravans and plenty of grass tent space, some with EHU, some without.
The nearest shop is about 10 mins drive away. The views out over the Dove Valley are fantastic. We have talked to people who have used the site to visit Alton Towers / Cadburyworld etc, but we use it to chill as it is so peaceful and quiet. The site is on a working dairy farm - the kids are welcome to see the calves and Boss the dog loves a pat! It is not the cheapest but I think you get what you pay for. Highly recommended, we're definitely going back.
